Good morning Huskers...

Walk-on
Just thought I'd drop by on this Sunday morning before church to say hey. I've been lurking for a while on this board since they announced the Gator Bowl. Of course I am really looking forward to the game and I wish I could go but my teacher's salary doesn't give me a lot of options right now. I've always liked Nebraska and I've heard from other teams that y'all have awesome fans. We played Texas A&M a few years ago in a home and home and they were heaping praise on Nebraska fans also.

I know that the whole state lives and breathes Nebraska football as somebody mentioned below. My dad had an Air Force buddy out in Omaha during the 1981 season who said that if Clemson beat Nebraska in the Orange Bowl then it would just kill the fans (I was less than a year old then so I don't remember it). And I remember watching Nebraska games in the 80s and 90s and in the rare losses, the cameras would focus on fans and little kids would be crying.

Now I'm not saying this to get y'all upset. All these things generated a huge amount of respect from me for Nebraska since it is that important. I don't think that there is a state anywhere in the country that has such a strong support for one team. Other schools have strong support but the state populations are divided between at least two schools (Clemson and South Carolina, Alabama and Auburn, etc.). I've always liked Nebraska for that reason among others.

I hope it's a great game in a couple weeks with no injuries and good sportsmanship all around. Y'all have a great Sunday.

We are all looking forward to a good game. Don't be afraid to contribute more on our board here, we enjoy the interaction with other fans from around the country and hearing their opinions.

Pro-Football vr College Football. In a word "boring."

A 2 hour drive to sit in a stadium with a bunch of drunken fans when I can sit in a sports bar 10 mins. from my front door with drunken friends, no contest, I'm home.

T_O_B

at this point, im not so sure a 2 hour drive gets you to a pro game anymore. well, maybe if you count the visiting team.

Good to have you on board! The more time goes on, the more excited I'm getting for this one. I've always respected Clemson, Just like LSU in the SEC, they seem to have alot in common with NU as far as fan base, and from what I've seen of you all so far a real respect for the game. Which is sourly lacking for many fans of college ball these days!

I think this could be a game for the ages for both these teams. Unlike what most of the nat. media think, I feel this should be a hard fought game between two pretty evenly matched ball clubs. This game has the potential to be one of the better bowls this year. Just be sure to stop in after the game win or lose. GO GATOR BOWL!!! :corndance

I'll definitely drob by after the game. Might wait a day or two for folks to cool off (me or y'all depending on the outcome) but I'll be here.

I generally like the fans from the south, but do you all have to say "y'all"? even when writing?

I will say this some of my best times were with LSU fans at Starski's in Omaha before a CWS game. I'd go there between games and the place would be dead until about an hour before the next game.. a few tiger fans came in and after entering and seeing the deadness of the place, one of them yells

WOOO-YEEE this some sort of funeral eear? y'all need to party

That's how we talk, we don't do it on purpose. If I were a cute little southern belle, I guarantee you saying yall wouldn't both you at all...
