It dilutes the brand that the big 12 has by taking attention away from their 3 day media event and the spotlight off it's other teams. It's a symptom of the larger problems in the conference at the very least and at worst Texas going out to basically say nobody is important for us so we get 2 days, and 4 players... Which is what he was saying.
No not a big deal, but something that if you are running a league should be worked out before hand so you don't have that happen and you maybe, you know, have them cover the Big 12 event rather then just one team. Especially when Mack Brown could fly out to ESPN any other week during the summer.
