I'm not convinced Pelini has the spine.
Is it that or more of hoping that Osborne stays out of it. Remember, Osborne pretty much "insisted" on Bo to keep Watson during the big coaching change..
and at the time that made sense...Bo had his hands full trying to develop a defensive philosophy...now that part of the program is fixed, Bo must now turn his attention to the offense..or risk mediocrity, at best.

Watson wasn't really forced on Bo. Bo liked Watson, but a disconnect in philosophy has grown. Maybe Bo's vision about what an offense should be is a good one, but I'm more thinking if he just lets Watson have free reign, we don't see a situation like this year. I hope Husker fans are satisfied with the 'running QB, like the old days' offense everyone has been pining for, because there were risks associated with it and we are dealing with the consequences now.

Totally different style of offense when we used a runing QB back in the day. We had an offensive coaching staff that found weaknesses on a defense and attacked them. When they loaded the box, we passed. When they dropped back, we ran the option. Hell, QB's get hurt running a pass oriented offense. I also remember when Frazier went down with those blood clots, Berringer stepped right in and we didn't miss a beat. We even changed up the Offense and shifted towards a passing attack due to Berringer's strengths in the passing game. Even when he had that collapsed lung, Christo came in and did very well. See a trend here? Back in the day we had QB's who were coached well and knew what to do when they had to come in off the bench and do it. How's that working out today with Watson?

I still do not understand how you say that if Watson is given full reign of the offense, we would see a different product on the field? Maybe there was a reason why Clownahan didn't let Watson run the offense? Maybe there was a reason why CU got rid of Watson when he coached the offense there? I see a trend here...the guy just can't coach QB's let alone an entire offense!

At this point I don't care if we lose recruits or not. Is keeping a coach on the staff just for a recruit more important than the overall success of the program? NO WAY IN HELL! Clean house, cut your losses, and move forward as a program. It's now or never...............I agree with X, this is an important time for Bo in his career and it's now or never. It's time for us to get an offensive identity, that's not so damn predictable, and it's time to stick with it.

God could have been calling the plays last night, and it would not have mattered. When a triple teamed nose guard beats Martinez on his five step drop, we have no hope whatsoever. It wasn't like Taylor was holding onto the ball too long. He didn't even have a chance to make any kind of read on five step drops with a three man pass rush. Games are won and lost in the trenches. Our OL got raped and pillaged all night long just like our DL did. The bend but don't break defense works only when you can get the opposing offense to make mistakes. A senior quarterback who got a chance at redemption didn't make mistakes. The bend but don't break defense couldn't contain him or the running backs. While Locker didn't complete many passes, he didn't turn the ball over and make mistakes. Nebraska has gotten worse over the course of the season while Washington has gotten better. The same things that plagued us over the season plagued us last night: ball security and penalties. The most disgusting and disturbing thing is how our team has gotten worse. In Bo's first two seasons, we were better at the end of the season than we were at the beginning. This year, we are much worse at the end of the year. We lost three of our last four games, and we easily could have lost four of our last six games.
