God could have been calling the plays last night, and it would not have mattered. When a triple teamed nose guard beats Martinez on his five step drop, we have no hope whatsoever. It wasn't like Taylor was holding onto the ball too long. He didn't even have a chance to make any kind of read on five step drops with a three man pass rush. Games are won and lost in the trenches. Our OL got raped and pillaged all night long just like our DL did. The bend but don't break defense works only when you can get the opposing offense to make mistakes. A senior quarterback who got a chance at redemption didn't make mistakes. The bend but don't break defense couldn't contain him or the running backs. While Locker didn't complete many passes, he didn't turn the ball over and make mistakes. Nebraska has gotten worse over the course of the season while Washington has gotten better. The same things that plagued us over the season plagued us last night: ball security and penalties. The most disgusting and disturbing thing is how our team has gotten worse. In Bo's first two seasons, we were better at the end of the season than we were at the beginning. This year, we are much worse at the end of the year. We lost three of our last four games, and we easily could have lost four of our last six games.
