Taylor Martinez presser on chemistry & leadership

You can believe this if you want but those guys, Paul, Lee, McNeil, well they all chatted all off-season when they were working out, drinking, meeting girls, about how they would going to throw for this and that and catch this and that and have this many TD's, well when that gets taken away from you and your friends, it is really hard to not be bitter.
Okay...

Link? ;)

I don't want to quibble over words used. I just wonder if cancer is the most descriptive. And I would gather that da skers was simply making a point, and wasn't pondering over his choice of words for several minutes like I am in this post.

And I would have figured you'd ask da skers if he was in the locker room with Keith Williams, etc. Because a locker room dynamic and what is in the minds of players is something we can't know first hand, right?
The implication being that da skers is just like the rumor mongers you adore, which is incorrect.

Further, I've heard the same thing as da skers, from former players, although the word cancer wasn't used. Different names were involved as well, which you'll notice I didn't bring up.

But nice attempt at raking the muck. Kudos. :thumbs

Of course, I wasn't being serious. Speaking of gross stretches, you should be quite familiar with the meaning of the term.

For HuskerScott, any poster who doesn't trash the kid every single day (like he has for months on end) is a "Pro-Taylor" guy.

Again I disagree. Ok, not "every day" but endless days of several cheapshots at our qb that's lasted for months on end. Of course, you rarely miss a chance at trashing him too. Birds of a feather...

This why I cant stand you Pro-Taylor guys.... anyone who is critical of Taylor is automatically bashing him.
Kindly don't lump people together. At least say "obsessed Taylor fanatics." At least then you'd be stereotyping a smaller group.

Okay, Huskerscott has not been trashing Taylor every day for "months on end". It was one thread and he wasn't even saying anything bad about him, just observations from last season. You've been trashing huskerscott and Hujan more than they have been trashing Martinez.
"One" thread......lol!

How much easier is it now with some of those guys moving on?

Yeah, it's a lot easier now. Pretty much some of the seniors have left, Zac Lee and like pretty much four or five kids on the offense and defense, been a lot easier for me.
This jump out at anyone else? I think we had a significant attitude issue with a handful of seniors we were really depending on last year. Not the best year for leadership. (In the view of a person who wasn't there, so...)

Four or five problem guys, huh? I could guess three, maybe...
Someone needs to light a fire on his butt.

Really???? Considering I haven't posted a whole lot this summer. Every thread about Taylor somebody is asking when myself or Hujan is gonna come on trash Taylor. That pretty much speaks for level of hate you guys have for a group of people that are critical of Taylor.

I think the transcript in the opening post backs up some of my observations about Taylor last season.

I have moved on from last season, maybe you guys should do the same.
Okey doke......fair enough.

GBR!!

I think huskerscott has a stalker...

Niles was a huge cancer when it came to Taylor. Williams was a close second.
Heard the exact same. I also was told McNeil was not the most pro-TMart either.

This was unbelievably and painfully obvious in Mike's body language throughout the season.
Yea I still remember the Idaho game.... McNeill running off the field, said something to Bo and Bo fired back with one of his red in the face outrages. After watching the previous offense series you knew what McNeill was b*tching about. Nobody made a big deal about it because the game was on PPV.
I remember that. It was when Taylor threw a ball in the dirt about 3-5 yds short of a wide open McNeill. Can't remember if Taylor was throwing on the run or not, but I remember McNeill getting mad.
I think taylor actually rolled out, set his feet and then threw. McNeill is still running if the ball is anywhere close to him.
cant wait to see what you have to say when Taylor walks away from NU with darn near every QB record in hand, a NC, and a serious contender for the Heisman, in atleast one of the next three years. He was a freshman learning on the fly, get over it, we won the game
Wait, what part of what he said will that make inaccurate besides the errant pass?

This why I cant stand you Pro-Taylor guys.... anyone who is critical of Taylor is automatically bashing him. In that post did I bash Taylor?? No. Hell I wasnt even being critical.

So get over it.
You didn't. He was wrong.

http://www.omaha.com/article/20110807/BIGRED/708079826/-1#mckewon-martinez-must-be-vocal-in-huddle

LINCOLN — Taylor Martinez has grown. The portrait of the sophomore Nebraska quarterback includes a smile — not a vague scowl — and the occasional answer of import.
And he doesn't have to be rah-rah, his Husker teammates say.

"Because that's not who he is," left tackle Jeremiah Sirles said. "Him doing that would make us wonder, 'Why is he doing that?' Taylor's got his own way of leadership. He works hard. He runs hard. And people will follow that."

They will, true.

But of course quarterbacks have to be vocal leaders in one spot where it matters: the huddle. Or, in the case of a no-huddle attack — should Tim Beck's offense veer in that direction — the line of scrimmage. Whatever verbal gymnastics Martinez doesn't exercise elsewhere he must call up in a no-huddle offense, where clear, quick, firm instructions are key and good bluffs are, too.

your right i re-read it. It wasnt as bad as i thought...just used to him bashing Taylor at every opportunity.

@Po Belini...Im smoking something because i think he will be in contention for the Heisman in atleast one of the next 3 seasons? He already was being mentioned as a RsFr? Ya maybe as a darkhorse contender, but a contender none-the-less. And yes i do think we will be competing for a NC sometime in the next three seasons...specifically 2013.

Why is it completely out of line to think he will be in contention again? Thats no smoke, thats kool-aid.... :koolaid2:

^

I agree w/ your entire statement.

but, "contention" is a fairly broad term. Technically, every QB/RB/WR is in "contention" at the beginning of the season. The only players that aren't in contention are every other guy on the team not playing one of those positions. Right now, he's in contention. Golf-clap Taylor. We are also competing for an NC right now. We are a no-loss BCS team. That will get you to a MNC most years. Golf-clap Huskers.

:)
