  1. Wow, they are like the green bay packers of college teams...

I live out here and I have a few buddies that went to usc so I hear all the rheteric - They still have alot of players - I cringe when I read these people posting were gonna beat the sh#t out of everybody. You can't get cocky - I have 20 tickets for the sc game and I'm gonna take a beating from my buddies if we lose. I think we can win but it's gonna take a near perfect game - Remember the majortity of these kids come from LA where there's more kids in the school than some towns in NEBRASKA so the compitition is fierce out here - sc is not gonna lay down, We just need to be better prepared than sc. :restore2

  2. I was always under the impression that its next to impossible for a freshman (true or redshirt) to find significant playing time on the O-line. It's not as easy to learn as most people think (I played there in HS) and given the myriad of protection schemes in BCs WCO I would imagine its even more difficult. Footwork, hand placement, and overall technique is something most O-lineman don't learn til college b/c they're able to just muscle most players around in HS. Couple that with the physical demands of playing in the Big XII and you've got a HUGE jump for a kid to make from HS to DI football, regardless of how talented/touted he is said to be by the recruiting gurus.

And assuming someone has a drug problem with no info to back it up other than a rumor is not something I would expect from a Husker fan.

Your feeling's hurt? Grow the f#*k up and get in the REAL world.

  3. Just when you thought  who could they replace Bush/White with they are looking again...too bad for SC fans but cant say I am torn up about it...I hope that equates to a W in Cali :clap

There's 4 more HS All- Americans waiting in the wings.

  4. Murtha is NOT living in his car. Trust me, I'm not going to prove it to anyone and give an address or anything, because this is a message board and it's not worth it. But trust me he is NOT living in his car or anything like that. Oh, and he doesn't have a drug problem.

As for the person who said he is a bust. I absolutely HATE when people say crap like this and don't back it up with ANY fact or even opinion. Saying derrr.."he's always hurt" is not only weak, but a rediculous reason as to why someone would be a "bust" He is a back up tackle as a sophomore, there is a good chance that by the time the season rolls around he will be starting. If you would like to explain yourself and give some actually fact to your statement, please do so, but that sounded a lot like a Benard post.

He came in as the #1 lineman from Minnesota - He's been hurt since he got here, He's not starting yet. Clear enough for you - You guys and your Please explain yourself - I can't believe how you people put a personal stake in these players and get all offended - these kid's are here for 4 or 5 years then you shitcan them - and get new ones - Everyone should quit being a little BITCH.

  5. Well, unfortunately, these guys are playing for starting spots, and going 75% in practices and scrimmages just isn't an option. Octavien, or any other Husker, doesn't want to injure their teammates, but they can't half-ass it either.

Just a reality of the game.

Your right, There's an old saying - People get hurt when your going half speed - If these guy's are getting hurt in practice WTF is going to happen in a game? If you wanna Half-Ass it go play soccer.

  6. I like how you chose to use a General Motors product in your parody. General Motors, hmmmm.....

A company that has been a complete powerhouse for generations who, in recent years, has been handily getting its ass kicked by most rivals. Still a company of potentially that chronically underachieves in recent years, mostly due to incompetent management. Yet, may of the old-timers still relish in the "glory years" and refuse to acknowledge the company's failures.

Cornholers, sound like any football teams we know?

Your not much of a detective if you couldn't figure that out.

Hauppaug, NY -- A police officer named Valentine has been charged with hacking into the e-mail account of a woman he met through an online dating service and posing as her in messages sent to himself and to other men.

Officer Michael Valentine, 28, met the woman on Match.com last November and dated her for about six weeks before she broke up with him, Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said in a news release.

Valentine is accused of reading her e-mail, changing her Match.com profile and sending e-mails using her name.

He went into her account and, posing as her, sent himself an e-mail threatening that her friends would "come out of the bushes with a baseball bat and beat your brains in," prosecutors said.

He also sent Match.com messages to 70 men on the dating service to falsely indicate she was romantically interested in them, Spota said.

At least twice men showed up at the woman's house to take her out on a date because they were under the mistaken impression she wanted to go out with them, Spota said.

Valentine pleaded not guilty. His lawyer, Paul Gianelli, said he planned to "vigorously defend" his client.

"It certainly comes as a shock to my client to be charged with a crime," Gianelli said.

Spota said computer crimes detectives determined that Valentine used a number of computers, including one that belonged to the Suffolk County Police Department.

Valentine, who joined the police force in 2002, was arraigned Monday on a 197-count indictment that included charges of stalking, computer trespassing, official misconduct and tampering with evidence. He was released on his own recognizance and was scheduled to return to court on April 20.

He has been suspended from his job without pay.

I can't stand f'ing cops - the FBI is in town right know investigating the police dept. for excess force. Everytime I see a Freeway named after a cop that's been killed out here I chuckle. Most cops are the kids that got beat up or picked last in grade school, being a cop is their revenge.

what a moron. fellow husker brethren in CA, dont they teach you not to mess with shells and other explosives. even if they havent been fired or exploded they can still go off. im glad here in the sticks we have this thing called hunter's safety course. and there you learn not to do what this guy did.

I'd say about 90% of the Population are stupid out here - Just when I think I've seen or heard everything - something new happens. People never seem to dissapoint me.

  9. Also, I found a game tape so I'm all set. I remember walking into a place with a TV at the very end of the game and seeing the chaos that was going on. The TV was on mute so I couldn't tell what was really going on and I never really looked into it later on. So I'll be sitting back with a cold one tonight watching this thing. Amazingly I can actually watch games even knowing the outcome as lonbg as I haven't seen the actual plays before or too many highlight reels.

The "83" and "85" Orange Bowls were good battles along with the "87" Sugar Bowl - and of course the "71" Orange Bowl when Nebraska won the National Title by FLUKE - who would have thought the #1, and #2, teams would lose that day. LSU has been a worthy Bowl Opponent.

Frederick, MD -- A teenager who sneaked into a charity bartender contest to drink is suing the restaurant for causing facial injuries she suffered in a drunken fall in the parking lot.

Tyler C. Bauer, 18, of New Market, is seeking $200,000 in damages from TGI Friday's, according to the lawsuit filed March 22 in Frederick County Circuit Court.

Bauer claims the restaurant was negligent in allowing her to consume beer and liquor purchased for her by an 18-year-old companion and an older man on Oct. 11.

The lawsuit says Bauer, then 17, shattered her teeth, lips and gums when she passed out and fell on her face in the parking lot with a blood alcohol level of 0.238 percent - nearly three times the legal limit of 0.08 for operating a motor vehicle. Police reported that Bauer had fallen off the tailgate of a pickup truck while leaving the bar.

The Frederick County Liquor Board fined the restaurant $1,600 in January for allowing Bauer and her underage friend to drink.

How can you sue when your a f'ing moron?

  11. Just found out that I got season tickets. Woohoo. One of my family members is wheelchair bound. I would like to take her to a few games. Does anyone have any experience with this. I acquired 4 seats. I assume they limit you to like 1 family member in the handicapped area? Thanks

I sat in them with a friend who was in a weelchair - They usually only let one person sit next to them unless there are empty seats, then if your cool to the usher he will let it slide, but if someone comes that needs the seat you'll have to move.

  12. Here you go.

He should go right in and play.  I might just have to go to a game and check him out.  He shold be pretty danr good.

Did this whole thing have to do with a girl?  Just wondering.

That kid is all f'd up.

That is true...girls will DEFINITELY have that effect on a young man, if that's the case! :smokin

Good luck to him...at least he stayed in-state. :thumbs

first of all, i know for a fact that he is not leaving because of a girl or just because of lack of playing time or anything like that. jeff and his family are huge husker fans and jeff would not leave after his freshman year for that. so chad1971, ive got a problem with you making that completely ignorant and stupid post. if you have nothing of substance to post on this board that's positive, then dont post your ignorant crap, because you obviously know nothing on this situation. so bug off :steam

What are you his boyfriend? This kid had a free ride to NEBRASKA - and his conscience get's the best of him because his brother's are in Iraq - He should GROW UP and be a man and learn life's not fair. I don't care who he plays for - There's someone to take his place. Players like that can leave the program all they want just like the 10 or 15 players that solich recruited - When they do that it just shows their character.

  13. I live in LA and all the USC fans seem to think Mark Sanchez was going to be the starter anyway - Booty is not popular with the rest of the team - He's really cocky and hasn't proved anything yet - I'm more fearful of Sanchez because I've seen him play in HS and people follow him.

  14. I agree that you have to start somewhere.  I know that NU has 2 grad asstants already but I wonder if he even applied for one here.  The paper says that he did not apply for the position at KSU it was offered to him.

I will wish him luck and hope that he succeeds everyday except 1 each year and we all know which day that will be.

From what I have read in his stupid blog, he can't stand the coaching staff here. I would be willing to bet he never applied at NU for the grad assistant.

I don't think they would hire him anyways, CALLAHAN has all of his buddies from the past with him and he has no connection to Frost. Sometimes you have to do things in your life that you don't want to do, but you have to start somewhere.
