Sorry to those who did not have an enjoyable time in Madison. Obviously the outcome didn't help anything for you guys, but it's annoying to me to hear some of the stupid crap that UW were directing at Huskers. It perplexes me how some consider it "fun" to try to insult other people who are guests in Madison, and are there to have a good time like everyone else. Badger fans need to be more vocal at times about policing ourselves.
Good luck the rest of the way, and hopefully we see you guys again in December.
What's a bit weird, is that Packer fans are hands down the nicest fans I have the honor to be a part of. Incredibly fun, welcoming, and a joy to watch a game with. You would think the Badger and Packer fan bases would be more similar.

I watched the Bartman 30 for 30 last night and had forgotten that he got a similar chant in 2003...though that time it was much more "angry". That brought back some painful memories (clutching stomach and shaking head).

I've seen stuff thrown at opposing fans in the student section, but it always confused me because 99% of the time it hits another badger fan. You'd have to have pretty good aim to hit one person in among hundreds.
You will DEFINITELY get the "a$$hole" chant, but that's harmless and some visiting fans enjoy the attention. Your best bet is to talk to the people around you before kickoff so you're less "random".
Sounds like a classy bunch.
Most people laugh it off. But if a bunch of college kids chanting a$$hole at you is insulting, you will definitely want to avoid this road trip.

Hey guys...just to clarify a few points on the stuff posted above. UW hockey, while incredibly popular and always leading the country in attendance does not draw more than most NHL teams..it draws more than a couple : ) And the ES/FU chant didn't come about the past several years, it's been around for over a decade. It grew out of the "tastes great/less filling" of Miller Lite commercials in the 80s. As long as they aren't being abusive toward visiting fans with it, or using it during the gameday broadcast, I don't really have a problem with it. Regardless, I hope the visitors from Nebraska have a great time. We're all proud of our university, program, madison, and the atmosphere around the games. I'll be curious to read how it compares to some of the other B12 programs.
At the Rose Bowl last year, I noticed a considerable difference between the UW and TCU fans. The UW fans were booming music and doing keg stands, while the TCU fans were a bit more proper with their nice food spreads and drinks.

The fact that UW students like a cheer that includes swear words, that they say to each other, indicts the entire fan base?
