  1. I couldn't believe how many people said Bo must go last night. Sure I was unhappy with the loss last night but it makes me wonder if we really have any good fans. The Jason Peters of the world still dream about the 90's thinking the 95 team could actually hang with a current LSU team, don't be like him. I'm sure the coaches are doing a lot of soul searching and film grading today and this will get fixed. If your day to day existence depends on win and losses on the football field, I feel sorry for you. There's a big world out there, clean up your spilled nachos, take a few aspirin and go for a walk.

    Agreed... I love mediocrity!

  2. I'm not sure about that, because I know PS3's and XBox's have to be made without lead soldering (which shortens their life span and is a whole other issue) because they are classified as "toys". Maybe it's just different for the toy market, or maybe they do make them here. But my uneducated self doubts that.

What idiot decided to make an electronic assembly without eutectic solder?

  3. Wages = Like you said, they are a HUGE portion. I'm not arguing that it is. BUT, government regulations like minimum wages play a big part in that.

Environmental laws = This is with everything from my raw material suppliers to us. If our entire distribution chain doesn't have to give a crap about anything, it drops the cost. When my suppliers not only have to spend many millions of dollars to even start to build a plant and then have huge amounts of legal fees to fight environmental regulation and activist threats, that all add costs.

Employee safety regulations = These all add costs and China has very little of these.

I've already spoken about the lead as an ingredient issue.

The Chinese government isn't a regulation here in the US but it plays a big part in this. If all I had to do is break even and then the government would take care of me, I could sell at a much lower price.

I'm sure there are others I'm not thinking about.

Like I said, I'm not necessarily apposed to all of these but it causes us to not compete on a level playing field.

The cost of employer health care adds about $5 to $7 to the loaded cost of American labor. We are the only nation that saddles our domestic companies with that burden.

  4. So here I am!

Y'all said that Rice was a terrible team, but we hung more yards on you than we did them.

Y'all laughed when I posted my "a point I want to make" thread regarding our team speed, and how our defensive speed was going to pressure your QB into doing some bad things.

Y'all said you were going to hang 60 on us.

Y'all said you hoped to hurt our QB.

Y'all called me a troll because I disagreed with your views.

Y'all said that Arkansas State was better than UCLA....

Y'all said that Mora was a lousy coach.

I understand where how you feel today...it wasn't too long ago that we got steam rollered by USC 50-0, and your loss last night isn't anywhere near that bad.. Funny thing was, that's what it took for our athletic department to make a long needed change, not just with the coach, but with the whole culture within the football program. In that sense, our loss to USC wasn't that bad. Sure, it indicated how bad we were, but it was what prompted the beginning of our resurgence.

We all love college football, or we wouldn't be here. But when you're betting with your heart on a bunch of teenagers, some crazy things can happen...

I think you guys will be all right...your league will be interesting this year, as will ours. Had some great conversations with Husker fans in the Rose Bowl last night....kinda got the feeling y'all don't like Texas?

We suck, so pour it on!

If we won, we'd be gloating.

Most of us were still fans during darker years, so we can take it.

  5. WVU - since the late 1980's, have had a very impressive football program. No national championships, but they have been very good.

1-5 against the B1G since 1987. Win was against an unranked Purdue squad that went 3-8.

Since the 2005 season they have been one of the most successful programs in the nation on the field.

  6. You really think Cali recruits care solely about this one game? LOL

Do you know how recruits think? If anything they are probably saying "Sweet. I'd get a lot of playing time in Lincoln"

Success through good coaching is a major factor in recruiting top players. So is the level and location of the competition and the chance to play on national TV.

  7. I watched parts of the ATM and Mizzou games and most of the Husker game. I didn't even know the results of the WVU/TCU games until I opened this thread and I still don't give a crap. Those are two teams that seriously only get attention in December/January. I watched WVU twice last year...v. LSU and v. Clemson. Watched part of TCU/Baylor and that was it. Other than that I did not care. I'm guessing that I'm average.

Two years ago I did not care about most teams in the Big Ten, except for Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin.

I used to care about the eleven teams of the Big XII, now I only wish to see Texas lose.

Bottom line... the teams that the Big XII gained did much better than the teams they lost today. That was the topic of this thread.

  8. Some of you guys aren't thinking clearly tonight. maybe it will be better tomorrow when you step back and realize this silliness.

Hmmm... Perhaps I misread the scores of the games I posted.

Perhaps my comment about today's results will not hold true at some point in the future (not the point made in the OP). Next time I will be more specific and and include such a disclaimer for those that prefer not to read.

  9. What was there to read? One week of games hardly proves that the Big XII came out on top in realignment. I get that your OP says "today" but I'm just saying that "today" proves absolutely jack sh#t in the long run. The Big XII is still a beautifully decorated sinking ship.

The Big XII is a temporary home for teams scattered throughout the country, and will bot last the decade.

That said, the quality of the product they are fielding has improved, and is better than the Big Ten this season.

And as the OP stated, their new teams had a much better day today than their old teams.

  10. The Big Winner Today - The Big XII Conference

Well I used dividends metaphorically so no but money is a HUGE part of success on the football field. I don't know any schools that are good that DON'T invest in football. This is why USC is good and UCLA sucks.

All I know is that TCU and WVU are no name schools with zero consistency. No one cares about them.

You can mock the Texas Aggies all you want but they have a ton of money and recruit very well. They are a solid addition to any conference. The SEC isn't stupid.

I could argue with you and say that UCLA does not suck and that you are wrong about TCU and WV, but it is pointless to hold a discussion with someone who failed to read the thread topic.

  11. Teams that Left:

Nebraska - Road loss vs UCLA (30-36)

Colorado - Home loss vs Sacramento State (28-30)

Texas A&M - Home loss to Florida (17-20)

Missouri - Home loss to Georgia (41-20)

    Teams that Joined:

TCU - Home win vs Grambling (56-0)

West Virginia - Home win vs Marshall (69-34)

yes, Grambling and Marshall are powerhouses.

They were beat-downs, as they should have been.

TCU and WVa performed well on the field.
