  1. That article is written by Dirk who is a dick who is wildly critical of Bo. I'll consider the source.

I love how being "wildly critical of Bo" disqualifies someone's opinion. This board and it's idiotic love affair with Bo is pathetic. Bo Pelini is not head coach material. I have zero faith in him and he's really not a good guy. He's a complete dick. Him and his weasel brother have done nothing but bring shame to the University. I understand what my stance on this subject now does to my credibility on this board, but I guess I'm fine with that. I really only linger here and am wildly entertained by all the sunshine pumpers here and blind loyalty to a scumbag like Bo.

Please let the Sasquatch bashing and questioning of my status as a true fan begin now...

  2. 1) He's not paid those millions to be nice. His job is to rough people up.

    2) There was nothing dirty about what he did yesterday.

    3) Thanks for stopping by and making your post for the year.

I now understand why all my friends hate husker fans...

Lol! Great point! Suh is a p.o.s. What he did was intentional. To deny that is pathetic and means you didn't watch close enough or chose to not see it.

  3. Only games that taylor has looked "good" in are against nobody opponents.

Taylor's Ohio State, Michigan State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, and Missouri wins, off the top of my head, were against "nobody" opponents?

Yes, facepalm. If you actually believe Taylor is the one winning our games, you are delusional my friend.

If you actually believe Taylor is the one losing our games, you are delusional my friend.

I don't think anyone thinks TM is the one losing our games! But he is a BIG part of the problem. Being critical of one aspect doesn't mean we blame everything on that one aspect. There is a lot wrong with this team. It's not just one thing. And for you to believe that someone thinks it's only TM losing the games is ridiculous. Quit being so eager to defend and show your blind loyalty. I'm sick of sanctimonious Husker fans who reject any criticism of Bo, TM or any other weakness on the team.

  4. So I forget if it was Damon Benning or Greg Sharpe who said it, but they threw out an interesting theory that I kinda wanna know how you guys weigh in on it.

Tommie Armstrong, big arm QB from Cibolo. I've watched the vids, the guy has the arm and seems like the experience to run our offense and according to everyone on the team, he gets better and better every week.

Anyhow, on 1620 this week Damon or Greg (forget who said it) said something to the effect of "Taylor Martinez will start at QB in 2013, but if he shows signs of struggle again, and Tommie A doesn't get a shot...Tommie will not be at NU the following year." When I heard this, I panicked. I kept thinking how bad it would be to lose a great talent like that. It's been bugging a ton this week. It's not that I don't respect Taylor, in fact, he's been our guy when we had no one to hang our hat on and has shown so much heart all 3 years he's started...but when we have a complete QB like Tommie (and possibly another one coming in Johnny Stanton) I just hope that, next year during the spring there actually is a competition for the starting spot. I would hate to see good player go on to bigger better things elsewhere because they aren't getting a shot.

    Your thoughts?

Why the hell would tommie come too NU with that attitude knowing T-mart is the starting QB?

That don't make sh#t for sense.

If he has that attitude he would have gone somewhere else where he could have started right away.

I think he came here and will stay because he loves his team, Bo, the university, and the state. And also because i'm sure he knows he can compete for the starting job in 2014 as a Redshirt soph.

You don't make sh#t for sense. Sorry but he's not going to stay solely because he "loves" the team, Bo and the freaking state. That's hilarious by the way. Part of the reason he came here is because he know's he phenomenal and that NU is weak at the QB position and that he had a great chance to compete and take over the starting job. He's not going to stay if he doesn't get a shot. He his not here because he loves Nebraska. He is here to be a starter, win and move to the next level. If I was a star like him and saw how bad TM is, I would have been here too. The guys on 1620 are absolutely right.

  5. You know I often wonder with all these people complaining about how Bo acts on the sidelines...........................DID THEY EVER PLAY FOOTBALL!? Every football coach I had would scream and yell and get in peoples faces. I loved those coaches, they fired me up............I'd rather have someone like Bo than someone like Kirk Ferentz. When Callahan was here everyone complained that he didn't show any emotion on the sideline and they wanted more fire, now we get it and we complain about that as well. Good god it never ends.

There's a difference between "fire" and losing your composure. Yelling and screaming at refs with that retard mean face he makes is not productive in any way. My highschool coach was intense and had that fire. He managed it well.

  6. Someone please help me... what was the point of this article?

What do you mean what was the point? He painted an accurate picture of the state of NU athletics and the mood of the fans. He then goes on to say it really isn't as bad as it seems. It's a completely legitimate column. It's written in the style Tom always writes. What is your point? I'm sure you probably don't like Tom and the rest of the OWH writers because they don't kiss Bo's ass enough for you. I'm sick of people complaining about these writers. Get a life. That's what they do.

  7. I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina. I'm a diehard fan and I am biased toward my team. Real happy about the convincing win. However, that's not the point of my message. I grew up watching Nebraska football on many important national games. I always liked the Cornhuskers because of their coach, Tom Osborne. Tom Osborne knew how to coach winners and he always did it with class and dignity. He is still respected by his peers and those who know the game. Nebraska fans have always been first class and the team, in the past, has maintained a high level of respect and class. But I must say things have sure changed at Nebraska. Bo Pelini surely is not the best you can do. His half-time stupidity with the reporter, his sideline antics, and his low class statements after the game are not befitting the great tradition and foundation that once was Nebraska football. He is on the sideline foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog. It is not standing up for your team, who he blames for everything wrong in the next breath. It is about a man out of control and one who is embarassing the university in the national media. This is not an attack on a great university. But the dignity and tradition of Tom Osborne and his great Cornhusker teams of the past have quickly faded off into the sunset. I know a great school like Nebraska can hire a better coach than Bo Pelini.

Couldn't have said it better. The blind loyalty to Bo and the ignorance of how he's tarnishing a great program baffles me. So much of any sport is mental. I truly believe he harms the players mental attitude. I think he could turn things around and be a success. But that won't happen unless he changes his ways big time.

  8. I like Bo, always have, but in a way, isn't Peter somewhat right?

He is absolutely right. Bo's demeanor has a serious negative effect on the players. One of the many negative effects would be losing focus. It affects their mindset. I'm sick of people defending him. Bo is the main problem. I understand wanting your coach to have that fire, but Bo does it in a toxic way. I'm telling you, look at a majority of successful coaches. NFL or college. They are calm, cool and collected and display the right amount of fire at the right time. Bo is toxic.

  9. No change is not in order get a grip!

Wow talk about being in denial. This team, from the head coach on down, is a mess. The way they fall apart is ridiculous. When you look at the way they lost those 4 games, it can't be denied that big change is needed. It needs to start with Bo. He's a loose cannon and can't control emotions. Players respond well and want a leader who is cool, calm and collected. Plus recruiting is taking a huge hit. If I was an out of state parent and my kid was thinking of going to play at NU, I would not let him.
