  1. Gotta give props, thought when we got the 17 in the 3rd that it was over. They played a hell of a game (aided by f'n Niles Paul). Gutsy call by Rhodes, but maybe this is his "Osborne" moment.

Gutsy but dumb. always give your self a chance. Go to double OT and triple if necessary.

  2.

Yeah but lets be realistic here.... It's iowa freakin state for crying outloud... last time I checked they were not Texas.

pssst.... it was iowa freakin state for crying out loud that beat the mighty huskers in LINCOLN last season.

    and nope. we aren't texass.

but we beat texass in THEIR house.

I wish I could chime in with cy here and fearlessly predict an isu victory.

    but it ain't happening.

of course if martinis and lee can't play, it increases our chances from none to slim. :horns2

    nu rolls tomorrow.

  3. I believe Bo said if he had a do-over he probably wouldn't have pulled him.

personally, I woulda pulled him too.

hindsight is 20-20, and second guessing the coaches is a common fan activity.

BO KNOWS FOOTBALL. More often than not, he's gonna do the right thing.

  4. Not a fan of stats, the teams have different opposition, different venues, etc.

But just for the very little it's worth.

#2 scoring offense (OSU) vs #9 scoring defense (NU).

#14 scoring offense (NU) vs #73 scoring defense (OSU).

    Looks like a mismatch.

Compare and contrast the apples vs oranges--

  5. As we have seen the last couple of years, the worst month by far is OCT. which sucks cuz its my bday month. And my moods swing with the wins and losses. I dont foresee another meltdown in october but who did last year? I think okie state is legit but i dont think mizzery is and it will show this weekend. Otherwise we will be in for a tough 2 weeks and the woes of october continue for this program. if so ill say move these conference games to sept and play non con in oct haha.

I am of the opposite. I think Okie St will be exposed this Saturday. Offensively they're talented but they have no defense. Mizzou on the other hand, has looked pretty good. I worry about the Mizzou game not because I think they look pretty good but because it's a home game <_<

    yup.

mizzou is the more dangerous of the two.

  6. I havent seen OSU play this year but i dont care what anyone says, I just cant see them scoring 30+ on us. This defense is too good. I think we should win this game because we will actually catch the passes we dropped against Texas

I've seen them, they look good. They have a good rb and a capable qb. They put up a lot of points. but haven't faced a defense like NU will bring this week.

  7. This is the first ranked team NU has faced this season, and it's a road game. NU is famously (infamously?) known for their poor record against ranked teams on the road. Additionally, NU hasn't won in Stillwater since 1995.

Historically, it doesn't bode well for NU.

You folks are big believers in tradition and history.

But as I'm NOT a believer in that past performance crap, I'll go out on a limb here and say that NU should win this game. It's a rebound game emotionally, the only mitigating factor is the Mizzou game and the possibilty that some players may be looking ahead.

    Martinez plays the whole game.

    NU wins.

    BO KNOWS FOOTBALL!!

  8. im really tired of the jake locker superman talk.

his passing is mildly impressive, sure. but for all the talk about him being this dual-threat machine, his rushing leaves something to be desired. also, its not like he's been playing against one of the countries top D's so far.

    2010 passing: 42/70 555 yds, 5 tds 0 ints

    2010 rushing: 16 attempts, 41 yards, 1 td. 2.6 ypc.

frankly, we'll see qbs throughout the big 12 this year that are every bit as good or better, imho.

    yup.

for a super qb, he has lost plenty of games.

beating washington with Locker is no big deal. lots of teams have done it.

  9. As the great Dennis Green would say, "If we are who we THINK we are" we should win this game going away.

A TRUE top 10 team does not lose to this Washington team, they are not at that level.

Play our game, limit penalties and turnovers, let the D do what they do best and that's harass the QB and force mistakes and we should walk out of Seattle with a comfortable win, ready for the last non con scrimmage and ready to take on the Big 12.

Here's to hoping WE ARE WHO WE THINK WE ARE!!!

top ten team vs an unranked team...

shouldn't be a problem. easy road win.

  10. I hope it doesn't happen but when you have a freshman QB playing his first real test in a hostile environment there is the potential that he struggles. I'm just curious what everyone thinks we should do if he struggles and how bad would he have to do for us to consider pulling him.

leave him in. struggling can be a good learning experience.

unless he's turning the ball over.... two turnovers and pull him. save his ego.

  11. Here are the only "who's faster" questions that are going to matter this Saturday:

Who's faster, Jake Locker, or the Blackshirts?

Who's faster, Taylor Martinez or UDub's defense?

    exactly.

maybe they could line the qbs up at halftime and race for pinks.

  12. So are we keeping the Friday after Thanksgiving game when we play Iowa or are we playing on Saturday now?

    :yeah

I hope we keep the day after Thanksgiving game. I noticed we play Iowa that week on both 2011 & 2012 Schedule.

    NO

We play UM the Saturday before, we will want 7 days before we play again. I understand this schedule is all about eyes and TV sets, but it would have been nice if they would have mixed in an Illinois or Indiana instead of OSU and PSU.

As for PSU being our protected rival, meh. :moreinteresting

could be worse... coulda made OSU the protected rival.

They might as well be. They will be our last game every year, except for the bowl game.

    @ Wisconsin

    Ohio State

    @ Penn State

    @ Michigan

    Iowa

    Ohio State (CCG)

might as well get a taste of the future in one big gulp. the "other" teams will rotate in 2012,2013 and beyond... indiana, illinois, purdue.
