  1. Also, one of the things that has bothered me in these first few games is how close returners sometimes stand when they're not going to catch the ball. Just get the f#*k out of the way, a long ways away, so there is no chance that thing will come close to you.

Can't believe you're the only one to point this out...why in the hell are you going to stand 1 or 2 feet away from where the ball is going to hit?! Also agree with everything else you've said in this thread, I'd vote you up if I could.

  2. Maybe he just should be in the backfiled as a pass/throw option. He was a former QB once, right? Why not keep him as a back instead of a wideout?

Forget routes if he doesn't want to do them, his talent should be used.

Hmmm...yup makes total sense. Can't learn the plays so let's put him in the backfield, because we don't have a qb who can throw or rb's that can run. Genius! Get this man a coaching job. You are so dumb.

  3. ok, i think doodlebug is a troll.

Doodlebug does post from Oklahoma, and as we all know, there is no such thing as a Husker fan in Okie Land. So this must be true.

Haha...yes unfortunately I live in OKC now...sucks being around so many sooner fans. I don't mind you calling me a troll, but please don't call me an Okie...low blow my friend, low blow. Moved here from DFW in Jan. and I can tell you there are no worse fans than sooner fans. I hate the longhorns but bc of my texas plates I get harassed all the time. I have had people throw beer cans at my truck while on the highway and get the upside down longhorns sign flashed at me all the time. Actually became a bigger fan once I moved away, having to defend us against all the Texas fans and now Sooner fans. I Grew up in Lincoln and went to UNL. Humann elementary, Pound Middle School, Lincoln Southeast. Barrett Ruud was a year older than me and sat next to me in math class. Alex Gordan was in my class. Don't know how else I can prove I'm a husker. Ask me anything!

    Really knapp? :D

    Doodle,

I live in the Harrah/Newalla area myself. There are a few of us on here who live in the OKC area

Cool...I went to a husker watch site a few weeks ago. I believe it's called the lizard lounge or something like that off 240 and penn.

Haven't been to a watch party yet. I keep talking about it...just never followed thru with it.

You should do it, it's awesome being around fellow huskers, just make sure you get there early it fills up fast...hell if you ever decide to go PM me, I'll buy ya a beer. It'd be cool to see a fellow huskerboard member

  4. Don't know how else I can prove I'm a husker. Ask me anything!

All of this could be fake. The true test - There was once a restaurant in Lincoln whose name contained the word Caboose. What was it?

Hmmm...I actually have no idea. Trick question? I moved there when I was in the third grade (1993) and lived there until I was 22. Might have been before my time. I really don't go out to eat much. Only restaurant's that I could name that I believe are Lincoln originals are P.O Pears (I think they're closed now though), Grisante's, Watering Hole (awesome wings). Could probably name some more if I really thought about it. Any other questions?

All of this because you said you like both the Cowboys and the Packers? Now they're Mcarthying you?

I'm surprised I got off so easily with all the blatant contradictions I posted.

Yeah it's weird...the mods around here are extremely paranoid for some reason. My other thread got deleted for some reason also. Oh well haters gonna hate.

  7. Also I'm a hardcore Dallas Cowboys fan but I've started really becoming a packers fan lately.

Well then you're not a hardcore Dallas Cowboys fan.

I can root for the packers as long as they're not playing the cowboys idiot...they kinda remind me of the huskers

what the what? i wonder if he gets good wifi under his bridge.

Packers fans remind me of husker fans. small town, loyal. What's a troll btw?...don't hate I'm only here to entertain :)

  9. Obviously I'm rooting for the 'skers over anybody, but do y'all have a second favorite team you go for? I really like LSU for their tough D (you can probably thank bo for that) and OK St is super fun to watch. They're teams I kinda secretly root for but if they ever played us there's no way I would go for them. Also I'm a hardcore Dallas Cowboys fan but I've started really becoming a packers fan lately. Also Broncos (Tebow Baby!)

  10. Donesman:

"I agree with what you are saying on players sliding. How often do you see tackles being broken and decent yards after contact racked up in B1G play? We cough up the football so much it make me sick! I only see good things coming out of sliding: Less injuries, improved turnover margin, and longer sustained drives."

Exactly. If you compare the pros and cons, sliding is a no brainer. Not only will it keep our players healthy and reduce turnovers, it will also frustrate defenses when they aren't able to put a hit on our guys. How many times have you seen a defense get pumped right after they dish out a big hit and it swings momentum their way? It happens all the time. I know these guys want to prove that they're tough, macho guys, but c'mon we need to be smart out there. Keeping Burkhead healthy is worth more than a couple of yards

  11. Yeah integrity is for losers. I't's all about that W baby. We should really work on cheating harder. If we don't get caught, great, but even if we do get caught apparently nobody really cares. We'll just say it's a lame excuse if it's ever brought up. Maybe we can take a page out of the New England Patriot's playbook and get a spy team out there to video tape upcoming opponents practices, just in case we can't steal their play calls during the game. I'd be really upset with Bo if he didn't spend time during the week coaching his team on stealing plays and other dirty tactics, because when it comes down to it all that matters is winning

  12. Taylor sliding or running out of bounds did not lose this football game. Taylor played a great game. Our defense and offensive line lost this football game.

That's 100% true (although wr drops/fumbles didn't help either, or Rex's fumble). But it's difficult to imagine our Oline being able to do much vs a MUCH, MUCH defense than NW. I think we'll need Tmart's run threat in a big way.

Otoh, I've been so wrong about this offense before.....so who knows??

    GBR!!

Agreed, I think another reason the coaches don't want Taylor taking on hits is because he tends to put the ball on the turf a lot. I actually wouldn't mind seeing Rex or some of our other players start sliding instead of taking unnecessary hits. It makes sense to try and keep these guys injury free.
