  1. Being a NASCAR fan, I saw this come across the sports feed on my phone and thought of you guys, so here you go. Sorry if this is a repost...

    http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20120214/SPORTS0101/202140439/1004/SPORTS/Lions-star-Ndamukong-Suh-named-grand-marshal-of-NASCAR-race

The Lions' star defensive tackle will order drivers to start their engines at the NASCAR Subway Fresh Fit 500 on March 4 at Phoenix International Raceway, officials announced Tuesday. Suh has an endorsement deal with the food chain.

  2. I'd like to see us play the Vols in Knoxville.

At least we do play them in a 2016/17 series.

    Nice! Didn't even realize.

That would be an awesome place to go. I've heard great things about the atmosphere and the tailgating experience.

One of the few stadiums where you can tailgate on a boat. Parking sucks tho, but with 110K people to seat, what cha gonna do???

  3. What I wanna know is this positive for Big Ten recruiting or negative?

Will this sway more kids to head this way or will the inability to cut kids like almost all of the SEC schools diminish our depth?

I think it's a positive. If a player doesn't work out as an athlete, I'm sure you'd always be able to switch them to an academic or other type of scholly...

  4. Thanks everyone. I still check in here about once a week to see what's going on. Funny thing is this place could be CT, with only the names (players/coaches/posters) changed. I mostly lurk now, but when saw that and had to post it here.

I have a few co-workers that went to/pull for Big10 schools (no huskers tho), so coming here helps me keep up with their teams too.

  5. When the police asked what happened? Bo said, "Well, what do you think? Next question."

    Officer: What happened here?

Bo: What do you think? You tell me. We all saw what happened.

    Officer: Actually, I...

Bo: I just didn't execute. I give the other driver all the credit in the world.

Bo: We'll be fine. We'll be just fine... ;)

  6. Somehow, this came across my twitter feed this AM. (I think one of the gamecock feeds still has a twitter bot searching for Nebraska stories). Anyway, glad you coach is OK. I was going to <insert joke about Bo's temper here>, but I couldn't come up with anything that was both clever and good natured (I haven't finished my coffee or Redbull yet this AM). :)

Side Note: How'd you guys do recruiting? Saw you picked up several pretty good LB's (same twitter feed :/). I think that's a good get for ya'll considering the loss of L.D....

  7. Saw this one ESPN...

    http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7528614/some-big-ten-offering-4-year-scholarships

Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Northwestern and Illinois confirmed to ESPN.com that they have given out four-year scholarships to this class. Ohio State and Nebraska also confirmed on signing day that they are giving out scholarships that no longer have to be renewed annually.

    I like this. Big Props.

  8. Enhance, I would simply say that chemistry between QB and WR is important, any way you slice it. If the QB can't trust the WRs to run their routes right, that is a problem. If the WR expects an erratic throw - and by that I mean they don't know what kind of ball it will be or where it will be - then that's also an issue.

I think you're just way over-simplifying a very complicated thing. I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, because I'm sure you know this, but throwing and catching a football in a game is far more complicated than 'chemistry'. Perhaps you don't mean that, but it's the impression I'm getting.

I wouldn't call it "chemistry", I'd call it trust. The QB can trust that the receivers will run the routes and be in the general area of where the ball is thrown when the ball gets there and the receivers trust the QB that when they get to "the spot" the ball will be there and only they will have a chance to catch it. When it works, and a team is clicking, it's almost like a sort of telepathy between the players....

  9. Sec schools are now limited to 25 players per class but there are loopholes.

And again, even that is not right. It should be 85 scholarships ... period. So while others have 85 they essentially gain atleast a 15% advantage and that's without exploiting other loopholes. If I could have 15% on my competition I would win a lot more. These issues should be NCAA issues and not set by the SEC.

I KNOW that there are schools (in all conferences) that recruit players with good grades so they can put them on academic schollies instead of athletic ones....
