  1. Alas, Saalfield was not consulted when college football banned the fumblerooski in 1993 or when the high school federation killed it for good this January.

That's a damn shame. DAMN shame.

    Oh well.

Thanks for the vid link -- I'll never be able to see it live, apparently.....

PS: What happens if someone runs the play anyway, despite the ban?

Or, why did they really decide to ban it? Because it caused lots of trouble?

  2. but that's just it. i don't *want* a gimped USC.

i want Nebraska to beat a team with crediblity. i don't want to hear any of this ESPN bullhockey about how the Huskers got lucky because USC just happened to have an off-year.

i want the Trojans to bring their A-Game. and then i want Nebraska to deliver unto USC a-whoopin' that will herald the new Golden Age of Cornhuskers. and then i want to find this girl...

... marry her and make many mini-hacks.

okay, one and two are possible. i'm dreaming about three. but that's what football season is all about, kids: big, BIG dreams..!

I like the way you think...

Always play for the national championship. It doesn't matter where you are, but You've gotta have that instinct.

    Go Huskers :woo

  3. lets go to a form of the wishbone and get all 3 in the game at one time.

what kind of a nightmare would that be for a DC to plan for?

I really hope BC exploits that somehow. If not the wishbone, then a modified 2back set, or something. Can those two backs block?

If I were playing NCAA 2007... I'd have tons of multiple back sets, and exploit it as much as possible. I'd even throw in a double option just for the fun of it. At any rate, I have a feeling BC will do what he can to present the most options for his aresenal.

He's not afraid to change positions or things around, so that makes me feel good about him being able to exploit the running backs.

  4. If it really got so bad that BC had to step in, then I guess I cannot have much empathy for Mulkey. His priorities apparently were mixed up, otherwise he would have left the team on his own volition, rather than a dishonorable discharge. You can't have everything. Sacrifice and discipline go hand in hand.

    Props to BC.

  5. I don't see a reason to be upset about haveing a stable of good backs. I don't know what will happen either, but I'm looking forward to find out.

If it were me, I'd be using a lot of 2 back sets and flip plays and audible to get what I want (ala NCAA FOOTBALL 2006).

I wonder how BC will use the backs, considering he doesn't like our FB situation.

Some HB option plays would be cool, too :woo

  6. I hope that things like this are respected, and also, shows that NU is a place worth going. KC staying... I think it says a lot about himself and the team, too. He could have had more money, etc. Hopefully his values will remain as they are now... (as in, Nebraska is a great place for him and his family)

but props to him no matter what :horns2
