  1. As for inhaling smoke not being good for you.... Marijuana actually treats asthma.

    vapor is ideal

    • Based on the current scientific research, there is no definitively proven "safe" way of inhaling marijuana (smoke or vapor).
    • Inhaling marijuana smoke in the long-term is likely to result in damage to the respiratory tract.
    • Smoking both marijuana and tobacco increases the risk of damage from both substances.
    • While marijuana smoke contains carcinogens, research about the association between marijuana smoking and cancer is limited and conflicting. The same is true for other lung-related diseases.
    • Marijuana smoking does appear to increase cough, sputum production, airway inflammation, and wheeze.
    • Using a water pipe or bong does nothing to reduce exposure to tar and carcinogens in marijuana smoke; using a vaporizer may reduce the harm associated with smoking marijuana, however vaporizers may carry their own risks and more research is needed.
    • Oral administration of marijuana (“edibles”) is one way to eradicate the risk of marijuana smoke on the lungs, but carries with it its own challenges.

  2. So moss is a go?

Also, u simply cannot compare each kid to another. Every single case has to be treated individually. We know nothing about the goings on of why afalava was dismissed as apposed to Bo "lobbying" for Moss to stay.

Exactly. I completely agree. I wasn't trying to assume knowledge in that situation.... all I know is that it seems a little off to me. But that doesnt mean anything.

  3. demanding an explanation as to why a 19/20 year old man is leaving a football program/school and transferring to another or just following a whole different lifestyle, is just borderline creepy to me.

stop trolling... nobody is demanding anything. I didnt think everyone would take "not that we deserve it, but dont we kinda?" to mean that I literally demand answers. I admit I shouldn't have insinuated that we deserve info on any level. I was just trying to discus that I don't like losing a young player with talent for unknown reasons, it sucks. I think some of you are going a little overboard in your responses here though.

If Taylor Martinez started a few games at QB and then disappeared, and you start to ask some questions and voice your frustration.... would "Piss off, its none of your business...and you're downright creepy for even wondering!" be an appropriate repsonse? class up.

Plus you are assuming a lot... that he left the program on his own, that he's following a different lifestyle, or that he's even transferring to another school. All and any of that information would've been plenty for me.... but we don't have that.

I know that players leave for unknown reasons all the time... but god forbid I talk about this, or wonder the situation right? smh

  4. whats so funny

Whats funny is that some of the fans believe they deserve to know things or be given reasons for certain actions. We are fans of the team, that does not make us privy to the inner workings or decision makings of the program.

The kid violated team rules, that is a good enough reason for me. Bo runs a tight ship and if you don't follow the rules then you are out. Nobody should have any problem with that. I want the team to succeed and win as well, but not at the cost of integrity and education.

so you missed the part where I said "not that we deserve an explanation..." I dont believe that we deserve an explanation.... I just thought that this kid had some talent to see the field that young. Usually there are violations that we hear about, even if we dont know what they are, before a player is told to kick rocks. felt a little premature. TWSS.

  5. I don't like this.... this should not have happened imo. He is too young and has too high of a ceiling to just throw him away for god knows what. Not that we deserve an explanation here, but don't we kinda? This feels like it was an emotional decision for some reason.

  6. i wonder if there is any promise of him being able to be co-d coord or anything else in the future, I know its airforce but hes kind of taking a step down from DC and associate HC

  7. Rumblings that Charlton Warren, the D Coordinator for Air force will be announced as our DB coach soon. May be true, may be untrue.

-- Charlton Warren, Air Force associate head coach, defensive coordinator and secondary coach. He just completed his ninth season overall and second as associate head coach and defensive coordinator at Air Force. He was co-defensive coordinator and secondary coach for four seasons and recruiting coordinator for six seasons prior to 2012. In 2011, the Falcons ranked third nationally in pass defense. This past season, they slid to 114th nationally in total defense while finishing 2-10. http://journalstar.c...19bb2963f4.html
  8. Too much time on his hands? How much time does it take to send out random tweets a few times a week to various folks. I guarantee-GUARANTEE-you use more time in a day reading and commenting on this board than he uses on his Faux twitter account in a week.

Lol this is funny. You're way wrong bro. Not that big of a deal... but you're way off base. He has 3,000 tweets. All based off parodying and pretending to be somebody else. I have 1000 off following my team.

neither of you are right or wrong because neither of you know how much time he dedicates to his parody account.

as a fan of twitter, i know it is not that hard to be on twitter or quickly tweet something while watching freaking tv, which he mostly tweets during husker games or big sporting events. so he is already wasting time, why not multitask?

you replied before i was done with my post. i have a twitter account and i tweet during events also... but i also dont focus my time and the perspective of those tweets to be funny to a crowd or mimic or pretend to be someone other than me. i'm for faux pelini tho... this is becoming something its not.

  9. The pedestal that faux is on (especially around here) is pretty annoying to me. Its as if people think he is the only person to ever parody a celebrity. Its some random dude who has too much time on his hands. Big whoop.

No, you guarantee that YOU use more time in a day reading and commenting on here than faux's twitter use.

Its all good fun dont get me wrong.... but the level that some people hold this guy has me shaking my head sometimes.

Faux pelini could literally be anyone on huskerboard, as long as we devoted that much time or energy.

EDIT TO PREVIOUS POST ABOVE - My understanding, when Watson left, was that he left on his own. The above article states Pelini did not comment whether Watson was fired or quit.

    dude... he was fired. really?

Yeah... he LANDED the louisville QB coach job after being the OC at Nebraska. Do we have to spell it out for you? Sorry, but I had no idea people thought this.

  11. If it happens, prepare for a meltdown......

As a defensive head coach, the offensive coordinator picked by new Texas Longhorns head coach Charlie Strong will be the most important hire of the coaching staff Strong is working on assembling in Austin and it looks like it could be an uninspiring choice, as there is plenty of buzz that former Louisville Cardinals offensive coordinator Shawn Watson will be following Strong to Austin........

    ....................

Watson's major coaching influences are Gary Barnett (he was on Barnett's staffs at Northwestern and Colorado) and Bill Callahan, the latter a West Coast offense adherent. And while Watson did manage to survive the coaching changes at Nebraska from Callahn to Bo Pelini (one of only two coaches to do so), he was eventually fired as Cornhusker offensive coordinator following the 2010 season despite fielding an offense that included Taylor Martinez, Niles Paul, Roy Helu, Jr., and Rex Burkhead.

Nebraska had ranked No. 33 in S&P+ in Watson's final season, regressing somewhat to No. 37 the next year following the departures of Paul and Helu, Jr. before improving to No. 8 nationally under Tim Beck in 2012 thanks to big seasons from Martinez and running back Ameer Abdullah.
