The program is dead! We will never come back and it comes down to poor administration. The sellout streak will end this year and if it doesn't, thank Pepsi. Once this happens you can say goodbye to the volleyball team. All other teams will play in great facilities, but will have no money to support them. Bob Devany isn't turning over in his grave, he is laying on his stomach in his casket without air.
God I hope this was if not

Kevin Steele is not leaving DC at LSU for Nebraska
But But But But all you need to do is throw money at him and he'll run to NU to be the DC. Sorry open the pocket book.
-
He recruited Newby. He was his personal pick. Newby is a loser.
What?
-
Seems like the new coach is just playing the guys he recruited. That's why he's on a losing streak! He's playing his favorites and demoting great players he didn't recruit. He should wake up and smell the coffee. He should give all great players a chance, otherwise the Coach will see himself demoted if he continues to lose games due to favoritism of his personal recruited picks. Wake up coach you need to win games with winners - not lose games with your personal losers.
He hasn't recruited any of his players yet.

We finish 3-9 there is no way Riley is in Lincoln for another year. That I can tell you. The checkbooks will be out come December.
BS
Dunno...Rumorville has something up currently, and I don't see the boosters of substance putting up with this.
Frankly, changes need to be made immediately to the internal staff, and I would be fine with keeping Riley on for another year if we can jettison Langsdorf and Banker and replace them with quality coordinator hires. For example, someone mentioned Kevin Steele as DC--that's a good hire that's reasonable and he has had proven success time and again as a DC (hell, one could argue Baylor's current success was originally built on/due to the bones of Steele's efforts as HC to a degree, not unlike Stoops' success at OU on the bones of John Blake's regime).
As for OC, I don't know who folks would like to see, but I would presume we'd go for a WC guy to jive with Riley's philosophy...though I would hope we would find one that puts a premium on running the ball successfully. The lack of one currently has cost us at least three games this year...four depending on how you view the Miami game.
And a caveat--I want it to be clear that I'm not dogging on the kids--quite the opposite really, as I believe the kids that come to Nebraska deserve the best coaching we can get for them. If it were your son or daughter playing, you'd want them to have one of the best available, and I don't understand why fans are content with substandard coaching for the kids wiling to sign up and represent DoNU.
which fan said they were content.? and I will still say BS on your post.

Who are these two clowns. All they do is repeat what the other one says.

I blame Hank Bounds and the board of regents for not being committed to Football. they all need to be replaced!
No one is being fired after this year.

I blame a lot of this on the front four of our OL. I never seen tommy be rushed as much as he did this game. I think their 91 was on our side more times then his own.
Also newbie needs to work on blocking.
That happens when they blitzed every down.

Armstrong progressed but then he digressed. Then progressed. Then digressed. I'm not convinced he should be the starter.
who should be the starter.

I have to go with the most recent Wiscosin loss. But it was close.
Not even close. UW was much worse.

You got what you wanted. This is going to be a long season. And a long next several years until Riley is run out of town like Callahan. Grats guys...

He's gone! Don't really care what he has to say about anything. I will say the But hurt is strong with this topic.

Not pointing specifically at you, but none of the arguments denouncing Dobson make any sense. I have yet to hear one thing this guy factually did wrong here. He's tied to the Bo administration so people don't like him - I get that, and it is what it is, but that doesn't mean he's bad, or did a bad job.
You're right, It's too soon to tell but if the injuries drop substantially this year, I'd say that's a pretty good indication
no 2 years are ever the same, might want to wait and see if a better trend develops.........over a couple years at least.
Except for at least the last two where we've had significant injury problems. There's been enough of a re-occuring injury trend the last few years that if we see a SUBSTANTIAL decrease this year and especially the following year, that's on Dobson.
every team each year will have re-occurring injury's. Our injury list wasn't significant.

I think the gripe Zoogs is the lack of overall comraderie within the team's actual training and development with what kind of offenses we wanted to run.
Think about the kinds of offenses those teams play compared to ours. Whereas ours is probably more comparable to Oregon's. Now look at Oregon's offensive line. Look at how much more trim and fit they "appear" to be. And are so to handle that style of play.
I dont think it was that Dobson did a bad job, it just wasnt the kind of job needed to provide for our style of play. Or vice-versa. And I've thought for a while that we just had a pretty big mismatch of overall expertise and philosophies all across the board of our staff from one position to the other.
This all falls on Bo not Dobson. I don't think Dobson had any input in what style of offenses Bo wanted to run.
Thats what i'm pretty much getting at. It was just another clash of philosophies and not having a real solid direction on things with all ships pointed in the same direction. Which probably falls under lack of experience. I thought Dobson did a pretty good job in ways, but I dont think it was the correct job. If that makes any sense at all.
I'm with you on this.

Two teams who've had arguably the best offensive lines in the last 10 years. Compared to ours under Dobson that either got ran over by a Texas DE (Sirles 2010) or can't even stay in their stance for a snap count (Jake Cotton 2014 MSU).I always laugh when people complain about O linemen being fat. They have always been fat and they always will be fat.
So it was Dobson fault for this? . Dobson was a busy man running the S&C program and then teach blocking fundamentals.

In other words... The answer is no

What was this thread about again? Beck or Bo.
Best of luck to both of them.

Matt Finnin, please stop

I have now lost all faith in this dumbass of an Athletic Director...possibly THE dumbest move now!
X1000 Initially, I thought the decision was based upon facts and the reality of the situation and then SE does this. IMO, a jab at the fans, team and players. What a friggin joke. An embarrassment and major FU from the AD to Bo, the team and the fans IMO. Stupid move. Way to get the fans excited......A$$ clown.......
SE did this to get back at the fans? love how everyone goes into meltdown mode over the simplest things

In all honesty
There are worse things in the world. Let's not fool ourselves into thinking that Barney was picked because he's head coach material - he was picked to keep things from boiling over. He will likely let the assistants take care of 99% of prep and act in his same administrative capacity. He's a damage control pick for one month while other things move forward.
Not really a big deal.
I agree. And it's that simple.

If Riley was to be let go after 3 to 4 years, I don't think he would would be a jack ass like Bo was after being let go.
