  1. I just returned home from the game.

Even though we lost, it was an amazing game, and showed the Huskers are improving by leaps and bounds. What a great game!!

I won't be able to talk for a few days and my ears are still ringing.

The crowd was electric to say the least and the crowd noise was louder than I have ever heard. Kudos to everyone else that was screaming at the top of their lungs. I think I was even being outscream by an old lady behind me. What a game!

  2. How about someone going to this coming game, get black T-shirts with a capital D on the front and a picket fence on the back, all in RED! That 's my contribution to anyone who wants to make a killing. No problem with licensing any Husker logos or names.

Who will step up and do it?

    Good idea!

Anybody with a clothing company reading this thread? We need you to step up.

If you sell them, I would buy a few.

I am surprised somebody hasn't tried to market the blackshirt towel yet. I got a few from Wally world, and they are ready to spin up in section 33 :thumbs

  3. We had votes last week if anybody looked at them.

Yeah I think we had 1 vote last week.

:cry I get all teary eyed when I remember the days when that number 1 was our ranking. It seems so long ago, but we will get it back someday. Hopefully sooner than later. :cheers

  4. No, the shoe in the air was on kickoffs, and it was no every single one, not just in the second quarter. I was very surpised at first. I had never seen that before. Just one more thing that really stood out to me as far as fan improvement.

    :horns2

    That's pretty sweet.

Anybody think the B****** or black towel idea should continue? If so, I wonder if Wal-mart sells black hand towels. Gotta get a couple for TT :thumbs

  5. They need to play the best and most reliable players to win games, not play young recruits to keep them from transferring.

    You hit it there!

I think another reason for a freshman to see limited time is conditioning and learning the system. There are exceptions as some freshman do see alot of playing time, but most freshman, no matter how good they are, will be better after hitting the gym and learning the playbook front to back. From what I have heard the "Husker Playbook" is very large and more complex than the norm for college ball.

  6. Actually, it was kind of funny. Whenever Ross lined up offset in the ace formation, you knew he was going to run that half back angle play, and he did, and every time he cought a ten to twenty yard pass.

The funniest part was in the second overtime when NU had the ball. The announcers just finished talking about Ross being double and triple teamed from that offset position. Very next play he takes it in 15 yards for a TD, and nobody from ISU even knew he had the ball :box

  7. Herbie still got a good lead. Let's keep it that way!

    Bruiser 123335 Votes

    Herbie Husker 145375 Votes

    Herbie leads by 22K

Kinda sucks you have to vote for all six matchups. I just vote at least twice and cancel out the other five matchups. Figure that is fair enough to Herbie :clap

  8. I don't know about you, but 2 TD's in the red zone in OT kind of gave me confidence that these guys can score.

Forget about our confidence as fans. Let's hope this gives the TEAM confidence to believe they can score. Maybe going to OT was the best thing that could've happened to this team. Might have been the wake-up call that has been needed since the season started :box

    GBR GBR GBR!!!!!

  9. Either you hate Pedo or you love him.:cheers

He still has done quite a bit trying to build the Husker football prgram into something bigger than what it already is. He has steamrolled the expansion program and truly has football in the front of his mind.

It could have been alot worse. We could have got stuck with somebody that has no view of the bigger picture of Husker Football.

Love him or hate him, Pedo has balls

  10. NU gets off to a fast, unexpected pace in the first quarter, and that will not only create a nice cushion for the Blackshirts, but also a huge confidence boost for the offense. Heck, maybe that's all they really need? :o;)

    Totally agree!!

Gain control of the game and run with it early.

That would be a huge confidence boost, and maybe the offense will come alive for the first time this year!

  11. Buffs... :flush

    Buffs... :point

    Buffs... :lame

    Buffs... -_-

I'll sum up 'CU fan' in one quote from 'Tommy Boy', subbing R.T. for CU.

"Oh, and don't worry about CU fan...he's just p*ssed off cuz he recently found out what a loser he is." :clap

    :horns2

  12. Tech's offense is just too good, given the troubles OUR offense has. We will not be able to beat Tech with our offense.

I would have to say that I think our defense is just too good. So it will be a pretty good matchup. Tech hasn't really had a challenge yet this year, so it is kinda early to say their O is too good.

  13. Here are my picks

Nebraska (3-0) vs Iowa St (3-0) - Of course Nebraska wins

Kansas (3-0) vs Texas Tech (3-0) - Tech will be undefeated until NU beats them

Florida (3-0) vs Alabama (3-0) - Florida looks decent

Virginia Tech (3-0) vs West Virginia (3-0) - VT rolls

Penn St (4-0) vs Minnesota (4-0) - Minnesota wins, Joe Pa cries

Wisconsin (3-0) vs Indiana (3-0) - Wisconsin... Had to pick one of them :P

  14. I don't really like the whole B****** idea. We, as husker fans, are known as the Sea of Red. Black is not one of our colors. Furthermore, I think it's somewhat devisive for the team if McKeon is saying to everyone support the defense by wearing black. How about we support the whole team and wear the team color - red.

How about the idea of black towels? I have heard of that idea a couple times in the last week. I personally think it would be pretty cool, 78000 fans in red waving black towels when the defense is on the field.

We are known as the sea of red, but our defense is also known as the Blackshirts, and not many schools have that. Lot's of schools may give special jerseys or helmet stickers for accomplishments, but it doesn't define them like it does the Husker defense. Not many announcers out there say the Husker defense is taking the field, but alot of them say "HERE COME THE BLACKSHIRTS!" (crowd roars and waves black towels) :box
