Elliot will basically have to be Adrian Peterson 2.0 to be worth a #4 overall draft choice for him.

    Exactly!

Baltimore tried to trade up to 4 for Zeke, which would have probably given Dallas another 3rd round pick, but Bosa, Zeke, and Ramsey would have all been off the board by pick #6.

Baltimore's GM came out after Round 1 that he was trying to trade up to 4 for Ramsey. Who knows if he was just making things up after the fact.

I'm sure Zeke will be very good at Dallas, but Dallas has so many holes that need to be filled long-term, that I don't think RB was the best choice. Especially when Stephen Jones said after round 1 that they were drafting Elliot for 1 contract (5 years). When choosing at #4, I would hope teams are drafting a cornerstone guy who can be there for 8-10 years.

cows have mcfadden and Morris, draft zeke and then draft another rb in the 6th round. Well the cows are set to run the wishbone. They 5 RB on the roster. 3 DE and 2 are suspended for the first 4 games. 2 CB that are worthless and didn't address that till 5 th rd on a project. Once again cows will not get any pressure on the qb which in turn means the CB will get eaten up again.

For that last 3 years, the cows have drafted perfectly. Just when you think the jones might have figured it out , they inform you they haven't.

  2. If you can't recruit at least one big in 3 years, that may tell you something.

If you can't recruits big then you better recruit some damn good 3 point shooters. Spread the floor and play up tempo style.

  3. So...maybe Miles made a huge mistake letting him go? I mean...he was a top 150 recruit. Is this on Miles for not developing him?

The dude needed about 30 pounds on him

For him to be effective in a power conference. You can develop all you want but he needed size. That's eating and the weight room.

Unfortunately it looks like this season will be a "wash" and we will just have to hope we can get some good recruits coming in and build a team that will have success long term. I'd say you have to wait until this year's freshman class is seniors before we can really give Tim Miles a "grade".

In the meantime it would be nice if so-called Husker fans would just support the team and get rid of this entitled attitude like the team owes you something. Ever since PBA got built a lot of those type of fans that previously only followed football before are now "basketball fans". Take your entitled attitude and leave it in memorial stadium. Our "fanbase" can be so annoying at times.

So, you equate question the coach/being unhappy with the coach, as not supporting the team?

Not so much the questioning of the coach, but the attitude a lot of fans have the like the team owes them something. This knee jerk reaction of talking about firing a coach every time we have a bad stretch gets old. That's all. Just go enjoy the games and don't be such a spoiled fan base if things aren't going our way. Look where that same type of attitude has the football team. Our fanbase is a joke.
. Enjoy what ?? 25% shooting from 3, less then 40% from the floor, zero inside game and I mean zero, selfish players that lost all ability to pass a ball, 60% free throws, can't break a press, and the worst of all. The inability to score for periods of time that can last 10 mins while getting out scored 18-2. The team is flawed and it starts with bad recruiting. Which is on miles.

Well, regardless of how this game plays out, it is very clear in year 4 of Tim Miles we are still a long long ways from top 20

It'll never cease to amaze me the kind of expectations Husker fans put on it's basketball team. Going .500 is a good year for NU.

They will NEVER be a consistently good team. Never.

lol, yeah the expectations of having a good team. Why will NU never be better than .500?

That's not what I said. I said they will never consistently be a good team. Meaning, a top 30 team.

I said .500 is a good year for NU not that they can't be better than that on occasion.

saying .500 is a good year is implying they can't do much better, which is why you consider .500 a good year.

regardless, why? Why will NU never "consistently" be a good team?

You don't get to be any more Husker as a fan of all the sports at NU than I am. However, I felt that rather than building the basketball arena, we should have first rebuilt Husker footbally to a perennial power again. TO spearheaded this basketball 'revival' thing when one needs to be realistic. Nebraska has NEVER EVER been good in basketball and NEVER EVER won a single championship in all the years of basketball since the game was invented. In my view, Nebraska NEVER EVER will win such a championship in men's basketball. I cannot tell you WHY they will not but after many many decades of playing, with multiple 'investments' in arenas, coaches, etc, etc., etc, it just is not going to happen. Legend Bob Devaney built the Devaney Center to 'bring basketball up to where it was supposedly supposed to be! Of course it never happened. Nebraska as a State has produced a very tiny handful of 'great' basketball players over the many years, almost NONE of which played for DONU. We've hired Moe Iba, son of a basketball coaching legend. He produced Nebraska's most competitive teams in my opinion ever. Still, unable to win a championship and eventually even he was asked to depart. Danny Nee was an above average 'sideline screamer' and recruited a handful of very good players but never enough to get us truly near being competitive.

I have read many comments suggesting Tim Miles was going to get it done! Now, the posts on this board are virtually all NEGATIVE after a brief time. We read about recruits but frankly, until and unless the State of Nebraska produces two 'superstar' high school players with all the talent, skills, height, etc. to take a team to the final four, Nebraska will NEVER EVER win a basketball title in the Big Ten. The Big 12 was tough enough with KU, OU, UT, etc. But the Big Ten is doubly tough. Nebraska did not join the Big Ten to help its chances to win the men's BB trophy. It ain't happening! Basketball in Nebraska is basically something for the athletic kids to do to stay in shape during the winter months.

Never won anything. 1993 team would like to have a word with you. They will bring there big 8 trophy with them. Didn't doc win an NIT championship too. But yeah that's it.

  6. This team is mentally incapable of playing a full 40 mins.

This is how dumb this team is. 14 mins left in the game. Shields has yogi on him. Shields as foot on him. Instead of posting yogi up, he gives up the ball and runs to the 3pt line on the other side. After watching that play, I've come to terms we are good for 2 more wins this year and shields is not that smart.

I'd love to see who rated morrow a top 60 recruit.
