@Officially___ Have fun playing on a sh**ty Nebraska team. Nice grammar by the way.

@Officially___ There's more to life than football. Wisconsin is one of the best educational schools in the country.

@Officially___ You could have gotten PT ur freshman year, + graduate with a great degree. Instead, you chose the weaker school. Don't get it

@Mason_Propst http://www.news.wisc.edu/22050 Wisconsin ranked in the Top 20 universities in the world. Only 6 U.S. schools made the list.

@Mason_Propst The guy doesn't even know the difference between waying and weighing. Obviously, he doesn't care about education at all.

  2. Not that height is a huge deal because its not...but Is his height accurate at 6-4? Merely a question not a concern....calm down huskerboard before you overract..... its just a question?

    WTF is your problem!?!?!?

Are you serious are trying to make a joke? Like im discrediting him or something because he isnt 6-7 or 6-8...

I refuse to use sarsasm guy. For one, not sure how to on the phone and 2, it defeats the purpose of being sarcastic if you have to inform people of it. I know its hard to tell on the interwebs of my intent, but I'm not an ass... At least not that big of one.

Well thats good to know...Thanks! Sounds like he is 6-4 and thats all I was going for

I would say it's accurate. Huskersillustrated has a picture of Gates and Newell standing next to each other on their official visits. Gates is noticeably taller than Newell, and I think Newell is listed at 6'2" or 6'3" fwiw.

    Thanks I appreciate it!

  5. Take this for what its worth.... I saw 3 different projections of tralent for 2014 MLB draft. One has Mr. Harrison as 32 overall one has him as 41-(BaseballAmerica) overall and the 3rd had him outside the top 50(scout) unlisted. One mock draft I did see was only for the 1st Rnd only and he wasnt on it. Regardless, he is a phenomenal athlete with a bright future whether it be baseball or football I wish him the best in whatever he chooses to do...but Im going to be a little selfish and I hope comes to play both sports at Nebraska
So based on these he is no worse than a 2nd round pick. As much as I would like to see him catching passes from Armstrong and Stanton for 4 years, his best bet is to take the money and run

I agree. You never know whats going to happen and if you have a shot at taking that type of $ its crazy not to!

  7. I think zewilbur nailed it! He saved me a whole bunch of typing. There is alot of good advise in his post. I advise to go on as many recruiting trips as possible. Go to places he is interested in and go and choose some other places outside of the box. The bottomline is you want him to be compltely comfortable with his final decision, so knowing what each school has to offer is a good idea. Make sure the school has a good academic program that he is interested in and make sure there is alot of support. Make sure he is comfortable with the coaching staff and have him get a good feel about what type of people are within the program. I wish I could have done my recruiting process over again...and prepare for a lot of mail and phone calls during dinner.

  8. Im a little worried about the two Offensive tackle positions and the secondary. The OT's have to be able to produce! The best part about this is they are going to have to go up against Gregory, McMullen, Keels, Natter and hopefully Moss all winter and spring, that undoubtedly has to help their progression. Not as worried about the DBs as this is our Defensive strength year in and year out. A improved pass rush should help the timing aspect of a younger secondary. If they can get this figured out I think this could be Bo's best team across the board! I also think by the end of the year special teams could almost be a stregth (I Know crazy right) we should be able to put a lot of athletes on the field which will help in returns and making big plays in the kick game! Not to mention Foltz should be much more consistent and there will be good competition for the FG/PAT kicking spot with Bondi and Brown. Looking forward to it....its only like 9 months away! GBR!

  9. Seriously guys, who gives a crap about 40 times? If you think they're a good way to evaluate players, you need to go away and come back after you've educated yourself.
Well, I have never seen a WR run a 5.0 40, so the 40 time shows some threshold of a player's ability. If Chris Johnson runs a 4.6 instead of a 4.24, he doesn't get drafted and certainly doesn't run for 2000 yards in an NFL season. No, a 40 times doesn't matter by itself, but it shows a player's potential capabilities and how that can translate on to the football field. So who gives a crap about 40 times? Every NFL coach, scout, GM, owners, people who evaluate players for a living - exactly what we are doing here, evaluating a player.

Thats comparing apples to oranges. I do believe a 40 time is more important when evaluating a RB(Chris Johnson) who can touch it 25 times a game versus a WR that may be lucky to touch it 6-10 times a game. I prefer if the WR has good hands, has good balls skills when its up in the air, routes, coming out of their breaks, and so on. The 40 yard speed is the least of my worries, and personally I think its overrated! Besides I think he has developed a little later than most and with a year or two in the S&C program that 40 time will come down anyway...

  10. I like it! Get him in the weight room for a year or two and go from there! If his coach likes his upside I do too! Not everyone blossoms their JR or SR year of high school. Love his size and athleticism! I heard the same things about Leroy Alexander being a 2 star safety out of Toledo too

What do you like about his athleticism? Serious question. He runs an electronic timed 4.87 40, which is exactly the same time as a current 290 pound DT commit. His vertical, as measured at a combine is 29.4 inches. His shuttle time is 4.4 seconds, which great if you're a 330 pound offensive tackle entering the draft.

You can like his size all you want, but don't sit and tell me you like his athleticism when he will honestly be one of the least athletic kids on the entire team - including offensive lineman from small town Nebraska.

Athleticism is has nothing to do with a 40 time bro!

  13. If he's currently making 6 figures I suppose he would have reason to stay in California...I didn't know that some high school football coaches make 6 figures...

100k for a HS coach, I suppose its possible but I doubt it, and if he were to come here and a be a DB coach he would be close to a quarter million per year. 1/4 million in lincoln is a much better quality of life than 100k anywhere in Cali...not griping just trying to make a point! The excuse for weather is weak in my opinion...

  14. After the Wisky game in the BIG10 Champ game last year and some other brutal games earlier this season Im just blown away by Georgia's 41 carries for 96 yards..Add Clinkscales, Keels and another year of S&C I really like the direction of this Defense...UP! GBR!

    Georgia's O line looked weak...

I think your missing my point

  16. 1. Front 7 has got a ton better since Iowa (41 carries 96 yards today)

    2. Husker play with great heart and pride

    3. Our D is gonna catch our O and should be very good with the addition of some JUCOs.

    4. Future is bright

    5. Ed Cunningham is the worst announcer ever! I watched the 2nd half on mute

  17. I have seen him up close in game action when he played against SHG(Eventual State Champs) in the playoffs... Hes the real deal! I expect him to immediately contribute ot OG next year. Doubt he starts but will be in rotation as a True Freshman. Hes physically ready with a chip on his shoulder. One of our best commits this year no question about it

  18. Moss needs to realize he screwed up! Everyone makes mistakes and I hope he dosent run from his punishment and transfers or quits or anything like that. Hes 20 something years old with a bright future. He needs to acknowledge his mistake, deal with the punishment, seek forgiveness and become a better person for it. With that being said I really hope he stays with the program because I think he could be a part of pretty special front 4 the next couple years!
