Bo has never had less than 9 wins per season....i just dont see it this year.

You all never play anybody. You have about 6 or 7 guaranteed wins this year and will probably get an upset or two. You'll play in a crappy bowl game and will probably win a shootout. I have you all penciled in for 9 and 4. 8 and 5 is a better chance than 10 and 3. 7 and 6 is a much better chance than 11 and 2.

You guys are poorly coached, have a bad defense, have a quarterback that throws like a girl, and don't really have the will to win. Thankfully for you you play a bad conference.

No way in the world UCLA makes the Rose Bowl. Our team in improving, but not good. We won't even compete against Oregon and UCLA. Those boys aren't going to give us 700 yards like Nebraska's pathetic excuse for a defense.

No. The goalposts didn't come down. Beating Nebraska wasn't really a big deal other than the score was fairly close and the game wasn't officially over until we secured the onside kick. Most of us watched the fireworks than then went out to the bars or the beach. Husker fans were polite and subdued.

Nebraska is a top 5 program. This program deserves top of the line coaching, from head coach to all the assistants. It may be time for Coach Osborne to move on as he is against spending money to further the program on the coaching side. We need an aggresive AD, like the ones in the SEC, as this is the sport that pays the bills. Many problems with this program, and it is far from the kids playing the game.

You are NOT a top 5 program. You haven't won a CONFERENCE title this century. I have been saying this all week and nobody believed me until tonight. Nobody in the national scene cares about Nebraska, nor should they. Just because none of you have anything better to do other than follow a mediocre football team doesn't make Nebraska a national program.

Watch ESPN. When is the last time they have given significant time to Nebraska? Bama, LSU, USC, Oregon, Oklahoma -- that is where the action is.

All you have is a pathetic defense, a shaky kicker, and a quarterback who throws like a girl. What in the world could possibly make you think you have a top 5 program? Is it some games you won back when today's players were still in diapers? Is it your defense that gives up almost 700 yards to a freshman team that had 14 penalties? Or is it your sense of entitlement that 15 years ago you were a legit powerhouse and deserve to be one today?

The only thing you deserve is what you got today: You got your ass handed to you by a team that was better coached, by a team that was faster, and that wanted to win more than you.

UCLA will be ranked 23 and Nebraska will be ranked 24. You all shouldn't be that close to us after the beating we gave you. Almost 700 yards of total offense baby. No team with a defense as bad as yours deserves to be ranked. If you all played Oregon you would struggle to keep them under 1,000 yards. Give that Cosgrove dude a call and see if he will come back. His defense never gave up that many yards -- especially to an offense with a freshman quarterback.

Nobody cares about Nebraska including these announcers. They were pulling for UCLA and they should have been.

A UCLA fan can see it. Hey there UCLA fan, what do you think about our patty-cake non-attacking style of defense? I think it's pretty frustrating when the other team is pretty much guaranteed 3 yards per carry simply because of our defensive scheme. Is Bo going to ride this 2-gap style D to the firing block or is he going to get his head out of his ass and realize we don't have good enough athletes to run it?

I was surprised at how Nebraska was not a physical team at all. I was thinking you would be tough and physical. You were anything but that. I thought we might be faster. We were faster and more physical.

Rice has a better defense than Nebraska.

Seriously. Our kicker sucks. How many times were we in the red zone and didn't score? Four.

We had 14 penalties, many on offense.

QB was hurt.

We still almost had 700 years.

Pelini was a decent defensive coordinator. A bad head coach.

We are in for a nightmare of a season. Our line play is atrocious, and not getting better. Its really going to show when we get into conference play. The next two games we will win because they will be outmanned. After that...the line play will be better than we saw tonight.

You defensive line is a joke. O-Line is bad, but not terrible.

You all need Cosgrove back!

Rice just beat Kansas. I know Kansas is terrible, but I thought Rice was worse than most high school teams. Is UCLA's win looking more impressive now?

No. This game had nothing to do with Kansas or Rice. This had to do with Nebraska having a terrible defense.

Nobody on the national level cares about Nebraska, nor should they. You haven't won a conference championship this century. Go to your stadium. The highest number you see is 1999. That was 13 years ago. Your seasons are boring and predictable. You beat a few no-name schools and start off with high-hopes, you get crushed by a legit team, you win a few more games against a few nobodies, you lose a game to a nobody, you implode against a few pretty good team, then you win a game or two before embarrassing yourself in a bowl game. Your first loss will come this week and this board will become a hotbed for negativity and bitterness.

Pelini said he expects no drop-off if Burkhead can't play. Backups Ameer Abdullah, Braylon Heard and Cross combined for 177 yards and touchdown on 29 carries in the 49-20 win over Southern Miss. Abdullah also caught an 11-yard TD pass for the Huskers (1-0).

 

So basically Pelini is saying Burkhead isn't any better than the other backs. Not much of a vote of confidence.

He is a decent back. He had a nice run but the Southern Miss player run him down from 10 years behind on his touchdown run. No speed, but he seems like a pretty tough kid.

Overall the Big 10 is a very weak conference. Michigan showed they were pretty hopeless. Wisconsin should have lost to the third best team in Iowa. Ohio State is on probation. Michigan State snuck by Boise State. Syracuse put up over 40 points on Northwestern. Iowa is just awful and doesn't have a running back. Penn State will be bad for the next ten years.

You all can be a big fish in a small pond - kind of like those Big 8 days.

Not surprising. Reading around on national reaction from our win, and there really isn't any. UCLA has gotten just about as much press beating Rice.

Neither team should be getting any national press. UCLA hasn't won a conference championship since 1998 and Nebraska hasn't won a conference championship since 1999. I don't think the national press will be covering two teams that haven't won a conference title this century.
