It was definitely a humbling weekend. It's getting to the point where I'm Tebowing 12 times a game and being truly thankful for every win. Not sure why we're ranked #7 Didn't complete a forward pass against Vandy til like the third quarter. The MSU game was great, glad they won.

UGA had a home and home with Ohio State that Ohio State backed out of, and we're supposed to have one with Notre Dame, hopefully that happens. The Carolinas played in Charlotte because that's the Belk kickoff classic. Same reason the Chick fil la kickoff classic is in Atlanta (peach bowl). I agree though, some pretty embarrassing losses. Supposedly every team has to play one power five OOC now though, so I guess you'll see a lot of Wake Forest games or whatever.

Thoughts on Minny & Michigan

 

1. Kudos for playing good opening games esp Mich on the road. Funny, SCar was home to UNC a couple years ago and the repeat game is at a neutral site. SEC doesn't really like home and home series I guess.

 

2. Michigan looked much better. Looks like they got some studs on D and are playing hard-nosed. QB was terrible and Mich could have won this game with an average QB.

 

3. Only caught parts of game but Minny D looked solid at times. I saw one drive where their O-line was manhandling TCU smaller D line and they marched it down the field with ease only to fumble near the goal line. It seems they could have run on them all night. Not sure if they abandoned that style or not. Minny's QB was throwing up some wounded ducks. Good for them for keeping it close with the #2 team in country.

We like home and home. Got one with Notre Dame coming up in a bit. The Carolinas were on a neutral site because it was the Belk kickoff classic, or w/e it's called. Minnesota fought pretty hard on Def - if only they had an offense.

Yeah it was ugly. Either team could be good or at least decent by end of season though. Hell, TCU almost gave the game away to the golden gophers.

Considering how the first half went, I think the south Carolina defense did a laudable job of stiffening their backbone, at least enough to win. Though the lions share of the credit goes to Skai Moore, who had both interceptions. Think Spurrier played four walk ons and booku freshman. Cupboard is a little bare. Lol

A white male made some racial remarks, Moss helped a friend hold him down and kicked him a few times, kid ended up with a ruptured spleen. That ended the Notre Dame offer. The FSU offer was pulled because of Pot. Seems like small potatoes compared to what some current athletes get away with.

FPI is kind of hilarious. Just another made up stat that ESPN totes around like it's the bible. Kind of like their QBR. I'm from Georgia and I don't even believe it. I feel sorry for Ole Miss though. I think TCU would have won no matter what, they were on a mission but a good portion of the starting defense was injured, Treadwell had a broken leg. They're not as bad as they looked or are made out to be.
