Even if Diaco does the post game interview one of two things happens.
A. Bob takes full blame, says he's a terrible coach and came up with a pi$$ poor game plan. Shatel calls it unacceptable for a coach getting paid $825,000 a year.
B. Bob gives answers full of coach talk that may, or may not match what was seen on the field. Shatel calls it unacceptable for a coach getting paid $825,000 a year.
Throw me in the group that thinks this is a mountain of a mole hill. Not only that, it sure feel likes the media with an ego problem. Just calling a spade a spade.

1. Tanner Lee can sling it!
2. IB is currently the best position on the field. Hopefully MR and Langs will be willing to feed them the rock as the season continues. Tre Bryant can definitely be an every down back, but I hope they distribute it to Wilbon and Ozigbo I little more too. We have the depth, use it.
3. It's better to start the season with a W than the alternative and bottom line it's great to have football back. Let's hope the team has a good week of practice and takes a big step before next Saturday.

And Wilbon isn't looking too bad himself!
-
Really like the way Tre Bryant looks. Has a good balance of power and speed.

That was a dime!

Definitely Pitch, Hand and Foot, and Russian Rummy.

Nominate 84HuskerLaw.
Can't wait to get his first memo if he is selected!
I will second 84HuskerLaw for sh*ts and giggles!
Well I guess getting the head coach position the last few years has lead to the ban hammer

Looking forward to see what Coach Diaco can do. Not sure if it's a slam dunk type hire right now, but seems like a real solid addition that could end up being great. Time will tell.
-
Let's start the list of excused why Bama lost:
Steve Sarkisian only had a week to prepare as OC.
The Russians influenced the game- 2
-
With 12 minute quarters Bama wins 24-21

That too! Once again Clemson drops the ball just in time for Bama to stretch the lead again
-
This game could about be in the bag if Clemson could dial up plays like this when they're down 1 possession or have the chance to take a lead.

If Tommy being out 3 games in 2016 hurt our running game by 500-1000 yards then we are not going to be a better running team without a mobile QB.

People talk about us not having an identity but Riley taught Wisconsins HC most everything he knows? We have an identity and it is similar to most of the teams in the Big 10 frankly. At least in terms of what Riley wants to do. If anything Riley is taking us more towards the Big 10 mold than Bo ever was. PSU and OSU have done different things on offense than what the Big 10 is used to but if you look at the scheme we want to run offensivly anyway it is very similar to Wisconsin, Iowa, MSU, Michigan, ect.
Maybe Michigan State but not a lot in common with the others. Those teams are all running teams first and foremost.
We would be more of a running team also if we weren't playing with upperclassmen from Bo and without upperclassmen that left the team. We will start to see upperclassmen from MR in 2017 and 2018. Let's see when these guys take over how much we run the ball. I think some of these top receivers that have decided to go elsewhere are doing so because they know we will not go 4 or 5 wide at receiver the entire game.
2013 Rushing stats:
Total Yards: 2804
Yards Per Rush: 4.8
Yards Per Game: 215.7
2014:
Total Yards: 3123
Yards Per Rush: 5.3
Yards Per Game: 240.2
2015:
Total Yards: 2340
Yards Per Rush: 4.7
Yards Per Game: 180
2016:
Total Yards: 2199
Yards Per Rush: 4.2
Yards Per Game: 169.2
But this is a Bo problem

Hurts not throwing very accurately.
Clemson needs to stack the box and take their chances.
I agree. Just need to keep a spy so Hurts can't scramble away again.
-
Bama defender makes a dirty play: "Bama is here to make a statement."
-
I hate to say it, but Mike Leach was the only person mentioned in the article that addressed the actual problem. Get rid of that TV official and I bet the games will speed up to the mark they want. I laugh when the refs announce that a timeout will be a 30 second timeout because it doesn't matter, the network is going to go to a 2 minute commercial break either way.

I agree with you redux. There will be no firing, it'll be a retirement type of situation. If he was going to retire at this point I personally think he would've done it or announced that by now. Let's just hope that when he does, there is someone worth a darn waiting to take over.
He'll get us a conference championship, retire, then SE will promote Banker or Langsdorf to head coach 3 days before announcing he's leaving to take the AD vacancy at Wisconsin.

I hope the O coaches get creative over the off season. Maybe it will help getting a pocket passer QB I don't know.
That still doesn't excuse how they utilized Tommy the last two years. I just don't understand why we didn't see more sprint out and bootleg passes to get Tommy on the run and take away half the field. It's not like they are foreign to a Pro/West Coast offense.
-
If players were dogging it this year they should not have been playing, or should have been out of the program. The whole excuse of Bo's players poisoning this year doesn't hold water.

There was a time when Charlie McBride drew the fans ire like Banker is now.Banker and Riley said they wanted to run a 3-4 defense when they first got here but we'd have to wait because we didn't have the bodies to make it work yet. (paraphrasing)
Yeah, I don't think that's what they said.
If that's what they've always wanted to run, they would have been doing that at Oregon State.
I didn't say that.
And I did read that they wanted to run a 3-4 but we didn't have enough linebackers. I'm 99% positive it was talked about briefly here on this board also.
You may have read that but that's an exaggeration based on one comment that Riley said. The quote was something like "We could run a 3-4 which is maybe something we'd like to get back to." That's not nearly the same as saying that's what they really want to run. Especially with Riley talking.
We might not have a lot of linebackers but we have almost nothing for DEs. If they wanted to run a 3-4, this would have been a handy year to do it.
I'm guessing this was about the same time that we convinced ourselves that Riley was going to hire Ed Orgeron and an all-star coaching staff?

Huskies playing intimidated now... gotta get their sh!t together or they're done for.
Shatel: Bob Diaco's refusal for postgame interview unacceptable

I was never much for bashing Bo and I believe neither him or the media helped that whole situation so no don't clump me into the double standard column. I simply called it the way that I see it.
