  1. Completely disagree on "certainly a step up", TO! Beck is seriously underappreciated. I was one of many who was skeptical about the promotion at the time, but he's more than earned it in my eyes.

And Beck has always been an invaluable asset on the staff, even before he was the OC.

agreed, beck has done a fine job in his campaign here at nebraska. sometimes systems take a few cycles of players before it really takes off..if the talent isnt there, which happens to be our case with the trouble it is for us to bring in all top recruits year in and year out, you have to make things work for a season or two..things are really coming along....pending the highly sought after underclassmen that have yet to make a real name for their stars as recruits

  2. First of all.....I didn't say "second best". I said "second place". There is a difference.

Also, in the end, it doesn't matter one hill of beans who is the "best" or second "best". That is why they prove it on the field. If OSU wants to be part of the conversation, stop getting themselves on probation. Nebraska earned that second place. As much as I wanted the "first" place, we didn't get it.

Second....my post wasn't about the attitude of the fans. It was about the attitude the players and coaches need to have. Now, if you are saying the players and coaches need to realize they suck and they don't have a chance and they are at best third place in a bad conference and they are just lucky to be where they are.....why are they spending the money even going to the bowl game?

Third....no, I don't believe Wisconsin is that much better than us and our first game proved that. Talent wise, I think we are pretty dang close. Mentally going into the CCG, we were on totally opposite ends of the planet.

Like I said, this team needs to have an "us against the world" mentality. That is when they seem to do best and when Bo does the best job of motivation.

i agree, they arent a better team than us on paper, the stats of the game may have showed it, but they are not a better OVERALL team, we just were not prepared for the run as well as we thought, nor do i think they realized how often WIS was gonna run the ball right at our mouth.

to beat Georgia they need to go out and play sound football as a team playing with a purpose and some pride

  3. i dont understand why a coach who is winning 9 plus games a season since his start, is such a hated figure by fans...people make a point to say it would be impossible to fill his position because coaching on pins and needles is far from a dream job, no matter how far the "checkbook" is open. you dont like him or you do, how about just being a faithful fan and supporting a team, win or lose. if the guy wants to leave, i guess you cant blame him..

There are more inaccurate statements in this post that seem possible within the number of words that you used.

Gene Chizik won a NC two years ago, and he's currently out of a job. Bo was brought in with defense specifically in mind, and this year featured some pretty dubious, historically bad defensive performances. (See my past posts about Bo regarding my impression of him. I've been very, very supportive, and remain so.)

So please spare me the nonsense about how coaching at Nebraska is like being trapped in a rusty cage with thousands of snarling, starving words surrounding you for as far as the eye can see. Ridiculous, baseless assertion.

i guess you are much smarter than me for chopping my own words, making them into what you wish to read, and then trying to belittle me. dont remember writing anything about coaching here is the same as living in a cage? but whatever ha
