  1. Good article on the new rules for recruiting violations and accountability(thanks Colorado and Miami). I'm posting this because Nebraska has certainly used some of the tactics that the NCAA now has prohibited. Nebraska did nothing wrong, but in some ways must follow some of these rules now. The one I know that comes to mind is putting players names on there jerseys and putting there names and showing them personal aids on Husker Vision. This starting now is a no-no. Read the article, hopefully I pasted it correctly. It's interesting. http://www.rockymounttelegram.com/sports/c...505570684761101
  2. A couple of things I have read lately on recruiting. Visits are starting to be set. Huskers have a feww lined up. The number 1 Inside backer in the country is set to visit on Sept. 4. Which I think is absolutly perfect. Crowd will be intense. This guy has sick numbers. *#27 on rivals for all positions (#1 inside) *bench 350, squat 630 *every big school wants him, LSU, Oklahoma, USC, have all offered *over a 100 solos as a junior Also remember Steve Craver, the Husker commit from two years ago. Well he is just about finished with Junior College and wants to return back to the Huskers. He has gotten better. LSU, Oklahoma and Nebraska have all offered. He prefers the Huskers. He's gotten bigger and stronger. His brother Keyou is with the New Orlean Saints would like to see him go the NU, but told him to also keep his options open. If the Huskers want him they'll get him.
  3. Here's a link to that article. Coach Blake was the primary recruiter http://journalstar.com/articles/2004/07/30...ll/10053037.txt
  4. Well folks it's been quite a while since I posted. I have been to a number a clinics and camps for job over the past couple weeks. I got to thinking that hell, there's only a few weeks till opening day. Just to let you know, if anyone cares, I wanna get a Big 12 preview out. That would be MY kind of preview, not the fluff in these mags. As I said I have heard the NU coaches a few times at clinics and I'll get some comments out about that. But let's get to the immidiate news at hand. A beautiful headline is plastered on the front page sports of the Lincoln Journal Star today and it reads: "NU Steals linebacker From Oklahoma" The kids name: Phillip Dillard And he's a four star kid from Jenks H.S. A couple comments. 1. Last Year NU only had 2, 4-star kids. We all ready have that in July. 2. NU has now gone into enemy territory twice and swiped high profile kids from a rival beating out OU, OSU, KState, A&M and Kansas. (He had 17 offeres) 3. According to the article NU has its eyes on another. I'll be around from here on out, lets get it fired up.
  5. DEMORRIO WILLIAMS OLB 4 5(101) Atlanta JAMMAL LORD RB 6 10(175) Houston JOSH SEWELL C 6 25(190) Denver RYON BINGHAM DT 7 3(204) San Diego TREVOR JOHNSON DE 7 33(234) NY Jets
  6. New Qb scholorship: Jonathan Crompton kid from North Carolina Pro-style quarterback Height: 6-foot-3 Weight: 205 pounds 40-yard dash: 4.8 seconds
  7. Kansas had there's the other day and only had about 5,000 and very poorly organized. Nobody does it like Nebraska
  8. Dailey has very nice touch and accuracy at times. Some very nice looking passes at the spring game. A liitle gun sliggin at the game. A little like Gannon, with the quick flips and such. All though I do believe he will be looking in the mirror often, but that doesn't mean he'll loose his job. Sometimes I think he CAN get the job done. And done well. He's very mobile and quick. A certain plus. Next year we will get two top ranked QB's,, five star type sh#t. BET on it!!! May even commit before the fall
  9. If there are any contributors it will be on defense because its gonna take a while for any of the new guys to learn the Offensive System. The defense will have to hold every team to no more than 21 points for us to have a chance. The offense has no playmakers. Some athletes yes, but no All Big 12 players except Incognito. Could get very frustrating at times this year.
  10. I get the feeling Bernard Thomas feels he's owed something, I not sure why he's not doing better. He's quick, fast and big. Attitude??
  11. People tend to look at the war a couple ways. One is revenge. How dare theyIraq's/Afghans) do this to us??? Or why did they do this to us?? What can be changed? As Chomsky wrote, "Nothing can justifiy the crimes such as those of Sept. 11, but we can think of the United States as an "innocent victim" only if we adopt the convenient path of ignoring the record of its actions and those of its allies, which are, after all, hardly a secret." My point here is not to belittle what he, Tillman or what Guru has done or wrote, but to make a different kind of point. When I heard this, I said what a shame, not what a great "hero". Because my thinking is he never should have had to do that(go off to war). If we wouldn't have such power hungry, wealthy businessmen running this countries administrations we wouldn't be over there in the first place. We have old, arrogant, wealthy generals and politicains sending over young, naive men to a world half way around the globe to fight for, NOT FREEDOM as always seems to be the reason, but for the wealthy and their investments. We have an administration that is filled with people who have connections to interests in the oil, auto, and other huge corporations. These people do not care about our solders or our freedom, but rather themselves and their wallets. People have often said I'm unpatriotic because I do not support our troops, which is absurd. I am, PLEASE SEND THEM HOME. That's called support. In fact the Bush administration has cut yet again, of all things, VETERAN BENEFITS. Who's to take care of these men when they come back home?? When they are missing a leg and half of their arm. My father has had his benefits cut again from an injury that occurred in Vietnam. We have killed enough , now we must let the Iraq's put together a Constitution on there own. These people don't want us there. It's eerily similar to the Vietnam War. When our country first had its early beginnings, there were revolutions all the time!!!! Look at at this way, the United States spend $400 billion a year on the U.S. military. That's more than the next 15 countries combined. With all that money and military might we still couldn't stop 9/11. But why did 9/11 occur?? Maybe its because the U.S. has a miltary base in every country, a port in every body of water and an embassy in ever major city. We are pissing a lot of people off. If we don't change and get a new administartion in soon our future is in serious danger. This is not a Republican/Democrat thing either, because the Dems. aren't much better. If I had my way I would vote for Nadar, but look what that got us. But they(Dems) are a slight step up from the Rep. Our grandchildren will have to pay the consequences for the current actions of this nations leaders if something isn't done quickly. If not, as with Europe and WWI and WWII led to there down fall, 9/11 will be view as U.S. downfall in the books our grandchildren and their children read. Sorry for the extreme rant, which has nothing to do with football, but important none the less.
  12. http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_np=0&u_pg...8&u_sid=1077346 Goes over a wide range of topics all surrrounding recruiting
  13. Greenbelt, Maryland's Derrick Williams the #1 player in the land was offered by the Huskers over the weekend. Harrison Beck from Florida appears that he will camp at a number of places this summer, including Nebraska, and make a decision before his season starts. He has visited (unoffically) Nebraska twice all ready!!!!!! He says NU is #1 on his list. Rivals has him in the top 10 QB's and top 100 players in the country. Craig Roark the blue-chipper from Ada, Oklahoma, who has a number of 'ships alll ready including Ohio St., LSU, KST, Alabama and others has NU #1 right now. Callahan calls him the best offensive lineman he has seen. He goes about 6'3" 290 Offensive Guard. There's another kid, a QB from De LaSalle who has NU #1 with Arizona. Folks everything I have read has been extremley positive. And every single one lists the amazing turn out as a highlight of there trip. Recruits will be committing in bunches over the summer after the camp this summer. We will have quite a few, I beleive 5 star type players. Very encouraging and very exciting.......Thanks Coach Callahan
  14. Husker closed out the double dip against KU by sending home the Jayhawks with a 10 run rule job. I forget who but the Huskers knocked a 2 run homer out in the bottom of the 7th to finish the game 13-3. As a rule in the Big 12, the final game on Sunday can end after the fifth if the home team is ahead by 10. It has to do with travel and getting the kids back to school. The middle game was worthless. Huskers stunk it up. It looks like they made a valent comeback but they were down by 10 at one point. They chipped away at it one or two runs an inning. Pitching was solid again in the first and third games though
  15. Harrison Beck a QB from Florida is feelin' it for Nebraska early on. He has all ready made up to Lincoln once on an unofficial visit. He has several offers but Nebraska was the first. He is 6'3" about 2 bills and has a cannon for an arm. Every category he was asked to comment on he had Nebraska as the best or listed with another school. I think by his comments other schools may be in and out but Nebraska has stuck to him. He also runs the same West Coast offense in high school. His favorite coach thus far in the recruiting process is Norvell.
  16. Lawrence Taylor and David Lee Roth both make a cameo on the Sopranos. They were involved in one of Tony's high stakes card games. That sh#t that happened at the Jewish wedding took a big set a balls. I went to a barmitzvah once in Jersey, there was like a 1,000 people there. They had a huge tent put up with a ferris wheel and horse rides. Everyone was served prime rib or a knish. Hah just kiddin' about the knish. I'm not really sure about the ending though. If it was Carm' day dreaming or Tony took the furniture. As always the show does a nice job of leavin' us swingin' with are pants down. Excellent episode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. That's just about right. Can't wait to the Sooners kick the living crap out of the 'horns again.
  18. Baseball has captured their last eight in a row including 9 of their last 10. It was probably expected that they start slow. They aren't able to get outside. Now the hitting is starting to pick up. Although yesterday against Creighton they did leave a bunch of runners on the base pads. As usual pitching was solid. One thing I am noticing is our relief pitching has been "Riveria-like" Shut down close out type sh#t. KEY............ They play Kansas this weekend. They will face a good solid team in the Jayhawks.
  19. I think the way that Rivals and usually others rank these kids is pretty accurate. Someone like Peterson has to be considered a sure hit. Murtha might be the only kid the Huskers got that is a sure thing. Rocky Mtn Sooner what's the word on Pelini down in Sooner country. Have you heard him speak yet or talk about anything, especially his situation he was in at Nebraska. I think I heard something about him saying OU's athletes were better, which I don't think surprised many. He was a great Def Cord. Everything he said basically came true.
  20. EsPN put out a top 100 for the upcoming spring into fall. Bullocks and Incognito have made the list. Sooners put up ten http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/columns/stor...ruce&id=1765404
  21. If its going to be any position its got to be Oline. We have so many holes up front. All those guys that had to over from the D. What exactly happened between Callahan and Schuler. Is he coming back. The next three weeks or so. Look for the Defense to put a hurtin' on the O. But Dailey is going to surprise us...I like him a lot.
  22. Now that's what I'm takin' about. Solid program. We'd been waitin for this one. The right amount of ass kickin's, dialogue, and bullsh#t being thrown around. How would you like to be that poor bastard lawn guy who got his ass kicked for no reason at all. I thought Christopher was gonna get smacked by Tony after the meeting in the car. I started laughin my ass off cause I knew it was coming. I'd like to give Janice a fresh one for free one of these days. Things are looking very nice for next week. Bloody...if you know what I mean.
  23. Uneventful, but in a single episode has developed some great storylines. *Chris's girlfriend is gonna crack any moment, she will have to die any way you look at it. Tony wont have a problem with that. *As I said last week the divorce will be a nasty one. It's only just begun. *One of the best hings about this show is how they don't feel the need to show you ever single event. You knew that undercover cop was going to get it. In the end he did. You bastard was lucky to las that long. *Chris screws that broad Tina next episode. *Tony's cousin, Tony, is gonna screw over Tony and mess sh#t up. Next week or the week after, the second being more realistic, some serious movement is going to happen.
  24. I want to say I just read something where the fastest guy at NU ran around a 4.46 which was Green and then Amos at 4.48 or something like that. The reason these times are so inflated is there probably hand held times instead of electronic. Electronic times, you start off in a three point stance with your finger on the ground holding down a button. When you get ready to go you let go of the button and away you go. When guys run this fast 4.48 and so on and they are electronic they are flying. Literally take a stop watch and a buddy and run a forty. If you were "fast" and "athletic" in high school and its been a few years, you won't break 5.0. More likely 5.5 or higher. You'll appreciate how fast some of these guys are after you do this.
  25. My breakout player's gonna be Amos at wideout. A little 5 and out and gone. He could run a reverse. True though our offensive line is screwed. I don't like what has happened between the Huskers and Schuler. How can one side say one thing and the other the opposite. That crap annoy's me.
