  1. Bottom line this staff has brought in 8 of the 9 LOWEST ranked players in this cycle. We do need to pump the breaks a little, i think the best job they did this cycle was not having the class implode. I'm not bashing them because of the time constraints, next year we will be able to tell.

But what we will be able to tell with this class is if they can develop players like people think they can

  2. Bondi for sure especially since they offered a preferred walk on spot to the #1 JUCO kicker.

    No info but wouldn't be surprised if;

Cotton graduates and goes to UNLV

    David Sutton moves on

Corey Whitaker maybe goes on medical

One QB and WR leaves after spring ball

  3. So we will have our attrition answer shortly with the current commits and early enrollees we are sitting at 88 scolys. Which is the max we can be at. If we take anyone else's commitment people are leaving the program we haven't heard about. And based on how many we take is how many are leaving. One name I heard is that people will be very surprised if Bondi is back. I read on another board that Whittaker may get medically scholarshiped, anyone else heard about that?

Might be a little early to list him as a commit he told 247 he wanted to go home and think about it for a little bit before he made a decision

I'm pretty sure either himself, or Sam Foltz or both tweeted that he was going to Nebraska
Doubt it was him considering he just gave an interview this morning saying what is above, he said he will decide sometime tonight

That's the thing - I really don't think we can take all of them. Seems like we can only take three which I think will for sure be a LB, the LS will get a spot if he wants it but I'm not sure what we'd do after that.

The only odd think is I've seen a couple rumblings about who was included in the 19 that Gunderson said we'd take. The question is whether the four early enrollees were included in that number. I think they would have been but for some reason a couple people are questioning that. The only way that would be possible is if there are already more guys who have left. That wouldn't seem to make any sense and there haven't been any names mentioned but I guess it's possible.

Early enrollees go towards last years number don't They?

They can but it doesn't matter at this point. The only number is 85 - or 88 with the three over-signings.

Bottom line we are at 84 with the current commits we can take 4 more or 3 if we get Lewis to transfer, if they take more than that someone is leaving the program that we dont know about. Or they pretty much know someone won't qualify

Tariq Allen won't (and we should all hope, shouldn't) leave - dude is a serious talent if he's healthy.

Also, maybe just another slip up - OWH listed Lorenzo Stewart as a "current Cornhusker" in an article about Willie Sykes yesterday. What's anyone think of that?

Stewart tweet Husker-related stuff from time to time so I think he still really wants to be here. But it seems like the new staff prefers bigger backs so I'm not sure they'll be interested.

He still has husker commit on his profile, I think he really wants to be there.

Him and sykes must know each other they had a back and forth about sykes committing with sykes saying I'll see you next year to which Stewart responded i have to earn my scholarship back with the new staff

Since then, we have heard about Rose's possible grade issues?

    Go on...

Everyone and their dog was asking questions about it on (tuesday?) night's recruiting chat with Josh. They refused to comment on it though. I would believe it to be grades, because that is the exact way everyone was wording their questions about it. No one was asking what is going on with other situations, it was strictly academic questions. Then on Sharp & Benning yesterday morning, they were talking about the mess we have at linebacker once spring practices start. Stating, "Rose has some things to take care of" I believe that was the quote.

I assumed it was Jonathan rose not Michael

Has anyone heard any rumors of a situation between Nebraska and Wisconsin staffs on the recruiting trail?

    No, care to share?
Nothing solid, just heard they ran into each other visiting a LB in Georgia.

Heard a few people on the wiscy board that said Thomas Davis (their recruiter down there) was with terez hall securing his official up there right before the huskers did their in home, wouldn't surprise me

Interesting talk on 247 that the 19 that was discussed didn't include early enrollees and the staff may know more about attrition. The 247 guys are saying the actual number could get to 22-23. The only number that really matters is 88 total scholarships so if we end up over 88 total after signing day it means people are leaving that we don't know about.

Eh, everyone else thinks the 19 is including the early enrollees. I'm not sure how they can know much about attrition if they've barely even had time to work with the team yet. Anyone who is sure to be leaving would have left already, like Love and Hart. We only have two actual spots left with the 15 in this class now so anything above 17 would have to be guys leaving early. I don't think there are 5-6 guys who are for sure leaving who didn't leave at semester.

I think the moral of the story is if we do go over 88 total people are leaving that we don't know about, rs juniors that graduate but wouldn't play have been talked about I thbik there are a few of those

Can anyone speculate on who the staff might ask to 'retire' so to speak?

No sources or anything here, pure speculation. But I think David Sutton and Bondi would be a couple names to watch.
Some other guys just pure speculation

Sam cotton...if he graduates this year he could transfer to unlv and not sit out

Tariq Allen...fisher was his high school coach as well...who knows how deep that runs, but I wouldn't be surprised to see at least one guy end up at YSU

Corey Whitaker...another rs Jr that could graduate
