  1. Don't know all the reasons behind it, but it is frustrating to me to see us line up after a big gain,...with the defense on their heels, trying to make substitutions, ... and instead of capitalizing on our momuntum, .... Somebody changes the play and we have to line up again.

Is this Martinez? Beck? I saw this a few times in the last game, and to me it looks like indecision screwing up a momentum push.

    Tell me I'm wrong...

  2. UCLA at Nebraska

    Washington at Illinois

    Ohio State at Berkeley

    Wisconsin at Arizona State

I got a good feeling about these games. I say 3-1. Illinois loses.

I'm in with these picks. Nebraska the only home game winner.

  3. Michigan will be out toughest game, with NW a close second

    We can still go undefeated

    MSU will lose 5 games

    Iowa sucks

Penn state may be a surprising tough game

Braxton will be done for the year soon enough

    Wisconsin has played D2 schools

Purdue will ask us not to take the trip due to shear embarrassment

Agree with all this, but I would still say Wisc has done what it has supposed to do so far. More than I can say for the Big 12 against the MVC.

  4. Go sit among the Coyote Crazies! I say sit with the visitors, just because knowing USD half of the home crowd will leave at halftime even if the Yotes are winning.

Yeah, and If I remember correctly, the student section leaves even before that! (can't lose that buzz...) Kind of sad when you compare to the more loyal Jackrabbit fans. Oh well, maybe a little success will change it a little. I was in the marching band for a couple of years, and we were pretty ghetto about harassing the visiting team (band sits at the 50 yard line). The team loved us!

Thanks both of you for the advice. I think I'll just ask my friend where he wants to sit.

  5. sometimes, you have to exaggerate the point when people don't get it. ;)

I think it's YOU who doesn't get it. Pulling up threads that have been dead for a week in order to throw out a random insult is trolling. The target of your insult is clearly not interested in entertaining your argument. Now please go away so that the rest of us can read and comment about the NEXT GAME which will be on in a few hours. ;)

  6. So I am a Husker fan, but am an alum of USD (South Dakota). I have a good friend who is a rabid Montana Grizz fan, and an alum of that school. We met at Iowa State getting our Master's degrees together. This year Montana plays USD in the DakotaDome (near me), and I want to get tix for my friend and me. He is psyched.

    So my question is this:

Get tix in the visitor's section or nearby? I figure that being outnumbered, he will want to sit near the other MT fans. But should I get tix IN the visitor's section?

So, I did a little google search to see what was up with the Bev Kearney case. Apparently:

Kearney's lawyer filed a complaint against UT with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Texas Workforce Commission alleging racial and gender discrimination, as well as retaliation.

The EEOC has 180 days to investigate Kearney's claim before she can sue UT, which her lawyer,Derek Howard, said she intends to do. The 180-day window expires Sept. 8.

In the meantime, multiple staffers at UT — including in the athletic department — could be subject to questioning. Howard said he has knowledge of “in excess of 10” inappropriate relationships between UT staffers and subordinates.

Sucks to have to wait, but at least this stuff will come out just in time for football season!

    Mark your calendars...

I'm sure the lawsuit will be filed in a couple days, but we may not hear anything about it. Just had to knock the rust off of this thread...

    I really hate Texas.

  8. Just in case you get on Jeopardy!, the current Bruin uniforms are what is called "true blue" (no longer powder blue) and gold, not yellow. Perhaps it's not as exciting as red and white (the colors for at least 15 other teams) but we Bruin fans really like it. I can't think of another team that has our exact colors. Am I wrong?

Colorado Buffaloes in the early 80's

and outside of college, the Chargers, Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Brewers in 70's and 80's, Seattle Mariners in 70's and 80's (what was with the 70's and powder blue?)

I'm not calling the color scheme common, by any means, just answering your question. I like the colors.

In fact, I think the colors look particularly good on knee socks:

    yes. yes they do.

  9. No, just live here. Lifelight is big, but not into it. I am from western SD, wife from eastern SD, lived in Omaha and Des Moines before moving back a couple of years ago. I wish the Husker fans here were as passionate as the ones in Des Moines, I definitely see a lot of gear around, but the watchsite has disappointed me on non-hyped up games.

  10. Watchsites in Sioux Falls?

I know of BW3's near the area. For big games it was packed, for small ones, just business as usual. I want to find the truly Husker-crazy place. I see plenty of people sporting the gear in town, but nothing special for watch places yet. Nothing like the crazies in Des Moines.
