Yeah. Like not go for it anymore
Until we get a good OL again maybe playing the field position game is the way to go.

This is a good point....had he waited a week or two before OSU's semester began, TG might not have transferred. With that said, if TG is the type of guy to bail on his brothers, I am not sure I would want him here anyway and would rather fail with the guys that want to be here.
I think Frost is very much a players coach, which may well benefit us in the long run but for this year not being a sociopath has hurt us. We're 2-2 maybe even 3-1 with Gebbia. This is about the long play though. Saban and Meyer aren't the best coaches in the country bc they are good people.
-
Oh that's why Frost signed a 7 year contract.

Not going to kill Frost over this but naming Gebbia and Martinez co-starters like Saban did with Tua/Hurts may have been a brilliant move. Saban knew Tua was the guy but needed a good backup. Frost has too much honesty for that but welcome to the big time.

I’ll give you Special teams is equal, but they are not worse. I don’t think Riley returned a punt for two years. Mostly penalties and bonehead decisions. I’ve always believed teams with strong depth have great special teams. That might be a tell.
O Line has been bad for years. I think their play is bad, but I don’t agree they are worse. This is going to be one of the most difficult positions to get fixed. It takes time to select and develop 5 good players.
I can't remember our ST being worse. We don't do anything well. I lived through the Bruce Read years.
In 4 games we've given up 2 punt return TDs, muffed punts, missed easy FGs, and our punter is terrible.

I think the fans on this board are grading about a D+, for many. There's a lot of change, questionable talent, bad bad apples corroding spots of cultural reform.
Give it time
FWIW I think everybody is more than willing to give Frost time. It's largely inconsistent with how we've treated other coaches, bc we believe in him. Any other coach starts this way and the pitchforks are out.

F it let's get drunk

I think Frost turns this thing around but he needs time. So far though F at nearly every level. This is a bad, undisciplined football team. Culture takes time I admit.

Frost is a system coach. Chip's system. Apparently it takes a year to implement.

Legit shot at going 1-11 or 2-10.

I expected some growing pains but this has been amateur hour.

Piss poor play calling again by Frost. He has done this in so many games just not calling the right plays at the right time.
I think when the system comes together we'll be very happy. Until then I think he's just a guy as a play caller. He's been terrible at times this year. No adjustment for the current talent.

so what is supposed to happen on Monday?
Theoretically, players with a redshirt year available might leave due to the new rules. I'm the ultimate outsider so I have no idea.

I'm not surprised they are struggling but yesterday was bad. They got punched in the mouth and went into the fetal position. I thought that would end with the Frost hire. Obviously Frost has work to do to instill toughness in this program.

Both teams have infinitely more toughness than we do right now.

I don't care about the W/L record in year 1 but this stuff has to be corrected. This weak/loser mentality is a cancer.

Are you Scott Frost? Because that's exactly what he just said about guys who might leave.

I don't see this as a bad thing. Frost needs to turn this roster over something fierce to get things going in the right direction. If you want to be coddled this is no longer the program for you.

Create strawman online, defeat strawman. Absolute state of society in 2018.

I can see why we are poor at certain spots but ST is pathetic in all areas. That probably frustrates me more than anything bc I think they can control that.

Gonna need a good sense of humor and quite a bit of booze to get through 2018.

I'm much more worried about execution. We should have had an easy TD for example on the 1st drive, it ends up an INT. Too many examples of mistakes to even bother listing them. Frost is a good play caller maybe a great one. Don't judge him simply on the rebuild going on. Look at what he did at UCF.
Don Brown and his blitz game exposed the offense today. He's really good at doing that. Plus we got whipped up front.

When Martinez is healthy and we are willing to run him, I think we are better this year. When we play Bunch or limit Martinez in the run game, we are no better than last year and arguably worse bc we don't have Lee.
