All this talk about our strength program was pure BS and its showing today.

I don't think its pure BS but shows how weak they were coming in. Michigan has been lifting properly for 4 years. Less than 1 for us. And they've recruited significantly better. And they are more experienced. We still have a weak mentality. I could go on and on.

Not related to the game today but Chris Hickman committed tonight so the gives us a clean sweep of the top in-state players.

    Help on the way.

Nice I remember people saying we would lose out on both him and Henrich. Frost is building this thing.

    4-5 years rebuild?  Nope.

    1-2?  Probably.

If Martinez is healthy we could look pretty good by midseason imo. Wouldn't put money on it but I think we'll have some moments if he's healthy.

Agreed.  There are some things.....some details.....that are fun to watch.

We have some players who can operate in space.  Once we really learn perimeter blocking without committing penalties, we're gonna score some points.

Sometimes learning aggressiveness draws some laundry on both sides of the ball.

Frost's no fear of failure means there will be some failure.

You can see some of the pieces of the puzzle but it isn't ready to be completed yet. Excited to watch the next few seasons.

c'mon man, we're 0-2 for the first time since the 50s. this is not going to be a ucf rebuild. we are at least 4-5 years away from really competing.

    This is the positives thread

  6. Don't want to tell others how to be fans bc that's silly. But I look at this as a ground up rebuild. Frost literally needs to fix every facet of the program to get back to where we were under Osborne. I am going to enjoy watching us improve and believe he's the guy.

Could I be wrong? Maybe, but the odds are low imo. GBR

  7. Outyarded both opponents by 100+ yards and had better yards per play than both. We've found ways to lose each game. Clean things up and we could be formidable. One game played with a walk on QB. Not all is lost.

Mo Washington appears to be our most dynamic player by a long shot. If he can bulk up a little, stay healthy and sticks around he should be a legend by the time he graduates.

Martinez looks like our most dynamic player imo. They are both pups I think the future is bright.

his comments to his players, about getting on board or getting off is telling?

is he seeing less than 100% effort from some of these kids?

    something may be up here??

I think it is more of a we've hit hard times now we'll see who really wants to be here. I think they will respond.

This team still has a lot to learn about championship level effort and intensity. They seem like good kids that want to learn but they are a long way from the mentality of the teams Scott played with in the 90s. To be expected.

The expectation was that running backs and o-line would perform better than last year.  More career starts returning on o-line compared to beginning of last season.  Gates sucked, he’s not missed.  Tre Bryant was dynamic until the knee, but the RBs were expected to put up better numbers than last year (arguably due to Frost offense and o-line improvement).

I think our running game is much better, especially with Martinez in the line up. We're going through some growing pains but things are improved there. Bunch didn't give us much today in that area. Didn't threaten Troy in the passing game either making us easy to defend.

We're in HCSF's first season; two games played into said first season, and we already have "fans" talking about firing assistant coaches????????????????????????????????

There SERIOUSLY is not an emoji, gif, or meme to adequately display the level WTF going on here.

    The internet was a mistake

He threw for a 70% completion percentage.

The fact that our special teams let them run a touchdown back and our kicker missed a field goal was not his fault. Our offensive line got horrible push on multiple 3rd & shorts. That was just painful to watch.

We should have won the game 23-17.

Could you both be right? I think so. Bunch made a lot of bad reads throughout the day and that includes the running game.

A number of his throws were swing passes, basically running plays.

It was the ugliest decent line I've seen in awhile. But that says something about how this offense helps quarterbacks. Martinez had elite passing numbers last week as well in his first collegiate start.

Exactly. This system is extremely favorable, just wait until Frost gets all the guys he needs in it with some experience. We're going to have a heck of a lot of fun.

In regards to question 4, if the season continues the way it is going (2-4 wins for the year), then Frost will need to fire some of his assistants to satiate the blood-lust of his bosses, donors, and fans.  it is the smart political move and Frost will come to this conclusion.  Prime candidates as of today are the o-line and special teams coaches.

Disagree. You don't panic after Y1. The blood lust sacrifices start after Y2 at the earliest.

Austin turned a terrible OL at UCF into an excellent one in Y2. We are already playing better at OLB with DeWitt. Frost may need to put more attention to ST.

  15. 1. If Bunch played the whole game vs CU I think we get blown out. We were easy to defend today.

    2. Yes. Masker is way behind even Bunch. Gebbia should be leading us right now but oh well.

    3. Time

    4. Stay the course imo, don't overreact to a sloppy start. Outside of special teams I think this is a very good coaching staff.
