Yeah, this has seemed to me like a "backup QB is always better" type thing. I don't know why he would come here when he'd be a semester behind everyone else - at least two guys, maybe three - and only three months to win the job in his last chance.  I think he'd look for a little more clear path to a starting job.

I feel it's a similar offense to OSU. As far as a clear path, I don't see anyone on the roster who is head and shoulders better at this point.

It sounds like our staff pressured Bookie into committing before he was truly ready. I honestly don’t think it was the worst thing, his commitment helped us secure a number of visits and commits that we may not have otherwise had. But yeah, I think he had been second guessing it before summer.

Obviously it doesn’t matter as much now, since the season went poorly and we had to fire our coach. But it really helped get rid of some of that “it’s all corn!” perception by getting big name recruits on campus who got to soak in all of the incredible environment. I don’t think our chances with him are over yet though.

I always thought that and was surprised he committed. He had a date set and and bumped it up considerably by committing in the spring.

  3. Some stability would be nice. Parrellas guys have been ok in my opinion. Williams even though it has taken a bit longer has 21 playing decent as of late. I feel for a guy who has never played corner, we have seen more progress this season from him than last year. Mind you this includes a scheme change. Throw in Williams’ ability to recruit and I’d say he’s worth more time. A little stability In the secondary couldn’t hurt. Some of these guys have had a new guy every year they were here practically.

  4. I am pissed when I look at who we have lost to. Completely unacceptable! That being said,  I still want our team to win all remaining games. I don't want our guys getting any more used to losing than they already have. End of season I have no doubt change will come but until then,  I must continue to support DONU.

  5. Recruiting is tough for me. I'm of the Jay Foreman mindset, "your either all in, or you need to get out!" That said, I'm curious as to the pressure applied to commit before his set date. He obviously enjoys his time here but playing in Florida and having easy direct access to their facilities is quite the temptation to resist. As much as he's done to help build this class, his decommit could blow it up just as fast.

  6. Bookie and Moore need to be in his ear from the second he touches down in NE. Definitely an Ohio State lean as of now but that doesn't mean things can't change with a great visit. We've seen guys come to Lincoln before that didn't even have us in their "top x" lists and after they leave they wind up committing to the Huskers. With this staff, I'll believe that we're in it with any recruit that comes to campus until they commit somewhere else.

Remember, this staff flipped Tyjon from Ohio State last year. Not saying that it's something that is likely to happen every cycle but I believe we're actually in it here more than a lot of people may think.

Hopefully Tyjon and crew can sell him on the same story

  7. Specific event in particular irking ya?

Seems everyone we're in on has taggert in home 3 days a week, Oregon seems like that fly I thought we killed last season, but somehow got between my fingers.😂
