Again, you can't fault the kid for throwing to the assigned read.

We lack imagination in both the throwing and running game.

So you know for sure that the designed read was the deep route? Good maybe we should put you in the box instead of Langsdorf because you obviously are way smarter than him.

I likely am smarter than him. I'm sure a number of people on this board are. But he certainly knows more about x&o's, even if he doesn't always display it.

  2. How can you tell if there's a true wiff when there's a coaching change? Maybe under the old staff a guy like thurston flourishes.

And people need to stop pretending NU is the youngest or least deep OL out there. Georgia tech just beat a much more talented team with like 3 freshman OL playing. Iowa was younger and less deep than NU.

  3. Good question earlier does NE have a player that would start for NI , oh state

, WI , or penn state?

Yes. Several. And it's asinine and insulting that Husker "fans" would insinuate otherwise.

How about this question: does Nebraska have a coach that would be hired by any of those schools?

  4.

I'm envious of that talent no doubt. Not sure we've got anybody that could start for either team. Westy maybe

Talent on the sideline and coaching booth too

Expecting to be as good as these teams with not being in the same universe talent wise is delusional. Need to get recruiting.

I've seen plenty of sloppy play and questionable calls today, but both teams are loaded. We aren't.

huh I don't know what game you are watching

The one with terrible pass protection, bad throwing by the QBs, bad decisions by the QBs, penalties (including on coaches), etc.

    What game are you watching?

  5. What I'm envious of is a conference that has actually interesting offense.

    Wow, this is ugly.

OSU will probably get it going if they get the right QB and a Harvin type receiver.

But other than that, none of the traditionally good B10 programs run an interesting system on offense. It's like the 80s all over again... line up, run inside zone, throw a flat pass off of play action. BOooooooring.

  6.

Every presser the same thing. We looked like sh!t. Oh well, my boy getting paid........ And yet the HC does nothing.......nothing.........not one thing.......... At least Bo took over in 2014......

Bo was a good assistant so it was easy for him to take over the special teams - not so good as a HC.

Riley has a goal of being a good HC - knows how to let his assistants do their job. If they fail he has shown that he can pull the plug at the right time.

How many coaches did he fire while at OSU?

You guys aren't watching this game, are you?

I'm watching the game. Yea he misses throws, they both do, but Barrett is more willing to go underneath and go through his progression. Barrett completes 10% more of his throws than Armstrong. Armstrong is better?

Put Armstrong in that offense and he'd be much more productive.

Im sure this was addressed in one of the threads, but what was up with Tommy and Stanley getting into it? Are the younger wideouts frustrated they have an inaccurate QB?

I thought Tommy got after him for not catching a pass that probably could have been caught. Isn't Tommy known to call guys out? I'm not sure if anything gets thrown back when he overthrows guys that are free

What looks like an overthrow can be a poor route as often as not.

"They were kicking our ass... until we kicked theirs. "

Husker fans are the best at twisting.

Well, okay CM, let's take a look at this quarter by quarter then, and we'll see what's been twisted or not.

Prior to 8:45 to go in the 3rd quarter, it was 24-7 Iowa. They had 240 yards of offense, we had 96 yards offense. So please tell me how they weren't kicking our ass in that game until we came back. I'm all ears.

Point is, it's amusing how you twist a win into somehow being as bad as a 40-10 loss.

And wait a tick... I thought people always whine that the ex staff couldn't adjust and make comebacks?

  10. Twist this then cm. We already have TWO big money HCs on the payroll.

Saban already coached in the Big 10. He was a bottom feeder. Not coming.

Meyer - lost to Penn St. Not coming.

Harbrah - lost to Iowa. Not coming.

Who else you got? They ain't coming. Especially if we fire Riley after 2 years.

This program is a shell of its former self due in large part to the last 3 bad hires. We have a massive geographical disadvantage.

At least Riley has some guys looking at us.

He's going to finish his contract no matter what, so STFU and get behind him or go be a Youngstown St. fan. Simple as that.

I haven't called for him to be fired. In fact, I said the opposite several times.

Just wish people would quit the lying, blaming and self-deluding I've seen displayed in their efforts to justify a .500 coaching staff doing what they've always done.

I disagree that he'll be allowed to finish his contract no matter what. A losing season next year would easily jeopardize that.

25th best roster in the country.

    Iowa is in the 50s.

This is turning into Callahan all over again - throw our kids under the bus to excuse poor coaching. Find out after 4 years that it was poor coaching all along. Rinse and repeat.

Who said we have the 25th best roster according to talent?

247's composite, adjusted for attrition, list of team rankings. It's been posted often.
