Our offensive line had trouble against southern Alabama.  It does not matter who we play at qb, as they have no time pass.  Our line is horrible.

Of course, the opposite could also be said.  AM had 3 interceptions in his first 7 attempts, and none of those were because of the O line.  It doesn't matter who we play on the O line, if the QB play is that bad.

So, one player makes a stupid mistake of sending a girl her own video back not knowing it wasn't on the up and up before sending (allegedly), and you're off the bandwagon if he stays on the team?

What do you mean, her own video? I don't think she had possession/control of this video.

I don't recall anyone saying they wouldn't still be a Husker fan if Washington didn't receive the punishment they think he deserves.

I thought he should be gone from the team.  I've since softened that stance to 4-6 games suspension.  If Frost decides anything less than that, I'm still a fan of Nebraska football.

I'll admit I was one who said it would be difficult to remain a fan of the team of MW was still on the team; although I did qualify it with him having to know that she was 15 at the time.

I think people, such as myself and probably you, would agree there are varying degrees or severity of conduct. Although it is wrong, I don't think sending the video back to her is all that heinous. Sending the video to other persons is more heinous and deserves a different and more severe punishment.

I think we would all agree distributing actual child pornography for pleasure or profit is about as heinous as it gets - and is no where in the realm of the two scenarios mentioned above. However, Mo is being charged under/for the same crime as this category when his level of conduct is no where close to that of someone distributing child porn for pleasure or profit. That is where I, and many others, see the issue with this statute/crime.

I agree. This in no way should be prosecuted as child porn.  My comments are about what his status should be as it pertains to playing football at UNL.

I'll admit, I am looking at this through the lens of having a teenage daughter, and what my reaction would be if he did this to her to hurt/shame her.

You sound like a preacher!  There is an athlete code of conduct, so please let UNL address this issue.  Some of these young are not as bad as you think and need guidance.  I'm sure Frost will do what is right for both!

I am letting UNL handle the issue. I am also expressing an opinion on a message board.  Those two things are not mutually exclusive.

I probably sound alot more like the father of a teenage daughter than I do  preacher.

I mean... that sounds noble, but if you kicked off every athlete from every sport who said or did something to hurt their ex, half of Nebraska sports would be gone. And that's girls and guys sports.

This kind of "solution" is not a real-world idea. Kids do dumb things. You can't default to the nuclear option because someone offended someone else.

In my opinion, this is more than just offending someone.

To be honest, I would be fine with the University of Nebraska Athletics having a policy, clearly defined and explained to all Student Athletes, that if you use sexually explicit images to hurt/shame someone, you lose the right to represent the university.

  7. The age of consent in California is 18.

By definition, any sexual contact with this girl (if she was 15 at the time) is a sexual assault.

If MO sent this video back to the girl, he basically "slut-shamed" a victim of sexual assault.

If this is what happened, I cannot imagine him remaining on the team and  if this is what happened, and he remains on the team,  I cannot imagine remaining a fan of Nebraska Football.

I will say in the 3 years  chins been a DC he hasn't impressed me  but Frost must see something that I don't. Chins young and has alot to learn and hopefully he can  figure it out.

I don't really know whether he is a good DC or not. But I'm sure we'll know by the end of the 2020 season how good he is/going to be.

Or being coached by a  veteran  DC this year. But then again we have seen veteran experienced  coaches  fail miserably  here before.

If I had to guess, it's a combination of the two....but, who knows?

Facts are facts whether you like them or not. UCF D this year is performing better this year even with 2 NFL talents gone.

And that probably has alot to do with the traits Chinander instilled in them the past couple of years.

Like matty said earlier.... they were called for 2 penalty’s all game.   One was picked up.....

he threw the ball 40 damn times.  Do you really think they didn’t hold on all 40 of those plays.   I’d really like to see the stat of holding calls to throwing attempts.... especially when the defense is blitzing like we did

All I know is that we average 10.4 penalties per game, and got called for 10 in this game.

NW averages 3.2 penalties per game, and got called for 2 (one got picked up) this game.

This is not statistically outside of the norm for either team.  But like I said, I'm sure there were missed calls, there always are. But I don't think it cost us the game and I think it is a bad look for the fans of an 0-6 team to be complaining about the reffing.

2 intentional groundings on their touchdown drive.   The non holding call when Gifford was going in.   That whole drive to tie was terrible

The uncalled intentional groundings looked bad; but there was a receiver in the area on both; I don't know which play your talking about with Gifford, but will take your word for it that the refs missed a call.  I'm sure calls were missed. I'm not sure it was lopsided and I'm quite sure it's not why we lost the game.  IMHO the only thing worse than being 0-6 is being 0-6 and having fans complain about the refs...It's just not a good look.

True, but even still there were he's. I mean a 1 penalty game is still just insane. Our receivers weren't held or interfered with once? Hitting Martinez on a slide wasn't a penalty? Crap they average 3.2 per game.

Edit: the reffing also isn't why we lost, it didn't help, but it's not the reason. Still just insane.

Not saying the reffing was perfect; but outside of the Martinez slide no-call and the 1 PI penalty on us, I didn't see any other bad or marginal calls; in fact, we probably could have been called for PI in the end zone on the play where the ball hit our defender in the back.
