  1. Thank you guys for the help. We had a good run but it looks like we are going to fall just short, again. :-(

Now, let's get back to football and have both teams run the table for the rest of the season. I'd like to make a trip to Frisco, TX in January. ;)

  2. This was MSU's first game of the season and they had practiced for a month on how to beat NU. I do hope they have a good season though.

I know for a fact that this is not true.

You guys might end up wanting to thank us before this season is over with. I think our game was a wake up call for your players that they need to take the game preparation for every game seriously.

I hope you guys run the table for the rest of the season.

  3. Down 16 votes right now.

With the slow steady increase of VCU votes starting this morning and with the Logo website allowing multiple votes after a period of time, I wouldn't be surprised if somebody has a bot program written to try and vote every so often.

    Doc

  4. In their previous round matchup, VCU won 18,334 - 213.

18,000 votes is a LOT for a small school like VCU. So far in this matchup there've only been 4,800 votes.

I'd expect this vote to get botted at some point. No way does VCU get 18k votes last round and only 3,000/5,000 or so this round

I think they started tracking IP numbers during the contest and not allowing re-votes. I know last round you could vote over and over again. This round we started getting a message, "your vote has been counted already" or something like that.

That is why I was surprised when it allowed me to vote again at home last night and at the office again today. But I could only do it once and then I got the message again.

  5. Okay, guys, thanks.

After a couple of days of it saying that my vote has already been counted when I tried to vote again, it let me vote and counted it at home last night and this morning at the office.

So, please try to vote again,

    You guys rock.

    Thanks,

    Doc

Done. I think your logo is kick ass. I've always like Wyomings as well.

Opened a can of worms with that Wyoming statement...Correct Doc?

Yes, our logo used to look like what is on the helmet graphic below this, until the State of Wyoming (not the University itself) threatened to sue us if we didn't change it. But we changed it and it ended up being a good thing because we sold a ton of stuff with the new logo on it.

Sorry man. Didn't know that about Wyo. was at my sons baseball practice today and one of the Moms said here daughter was looking at Mcneese. She's apparently a great softball player and being recruited. I heard the comment and turned around and said "Tell her to go there, great football program!"

No problem! We have accepted it. But like I said in a post above, McNeese fans have long memories. So, I don't think it will ever happen but if Wyoming ever agrees to schedule us in footballl..........................

We have had a very good softball program the last few years but just lost our softball coach to Ole' Miss. But the coach that is taking over is very good and, it helps to have Jennie Finch, who now lives here in my hometown in Sulphur, LA, helping with the program.

Speaking of Jennie Finch, she brought the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball team to Sulphur for the second time and we raised over $400,000 for them.

We husker fans go a little nutty over voting thingys. We have a problem. But its our problem.

Damn, every time I turn around I find a new thing that is similar with our fan bases (except for the size thing, though).

    You calling us fat?

LOL! To clarify, the size as in the number of fans in the fan base. But, if we consider the South Louisiana food, our fan base is probably bigger body-size-wise, no contest. ;)

  9. Thanks for the votes, guys. His comments have riled the Cowboy fans up and we want to shove our logo up his @ss.

We have a reputation in the FCS as being classy fans and good hosts (like the Nebraska fans do in the FBS) but don't go and piss us off. And we have been known to have very long memories. ;)

Thanks for any votes and good luck Saturday,

    Doc

  10. Hey, guys. Great win over Miami. I watched the whole thing (since we had another damn open date). I've always disliked Miami from way back.

I need to ask you a favor. Could you guys help us out by voting for us in this logo contest. The guy running this contest hates our logo and we are trying to shove it up his @ss.

Good luck against Illinois this week. You got some big fans down here in Cowboy Country.

  11. First Congrats on the big win. I was watching the game and chatting back and forth to some other McNeese fans. One ot the things that was said nearthe end of the game was "I bet there won't be any standing ovation for the Miami players when they leave the field." Looks like Miami's players are back to being Miami. One reason that is one program that I have never liked.

    Good luck next week,

    Doc

FAU came into Memorial Stadium thinking they were going to win, and got blown out.

What counts is the score after the game, not what teams and fans think going in.

    Wrong

FAU went home after getting blown out thinking they could win.

LOL! I saw some of their dumbass quotes.

The McNeese fans, coaches, and players went home thinking we shoulda won!! :)

    Doc

And they certainly had a case until 0:20

Yep, Ameer wasn't going to let ti happen. :)

  14. FAU = talk

    McNeese State = action

Set aside all the normal excuses we have, everybody knows the Cowboys played the best football today. I am now a fan, will be watching to see how you guys do this year. I hope this isn't a game that derails your season, but sets it in motion.

Hey, we played you guys in 2002. Our only loss in the regular season was to you. We didn't lose again until the National Championsip Game. I'm hoping history repeats itself except for the score of that final game.

    Doc

I think it will be interesting how it starts out and the adjustments we have to make on the fly.It should be a better game as McNeese had more time to prepare is true fact. I think the attitude of the team mentally will overcome mistakes and adjust to the play. Communication on the field can not be stressed enough among the players to be on the same page on D and O. As hoping for the cal writers and blogger to give info failed for NW, you can not depend on it, I don't. It is getting harder as the season progress into the schedule but all I ask of the players is play hard and do not worry about mistakes. This will be a good game.

McNeese actually has had fewer practices than NU.

This is true. I asked about this when we started preseason practices As you know (some of you anyway), you are limited to a certain number of practices before your first game. I was hoping that it would be until the first playing weekend of college football and that this week would be like a normal game week of practice between games. But I was told, we were still limited to the preseason number of practices until the Nebraska game. What we did was spread out the practices and not having any two a days (except for one, I believe because of a rained out practice). So we have only had the ncaa limit of practices before a first game. Nebraska had that before the FAU game and then has had the normal between game practices this week.

    Doc
