  1. Don't rule out Jordy Tshimanga just yet, but I believe he is a Boston College lean, our advantage here is they are terrible compared to us. Or else it is wait and see after the tourney and maybe some big will want to transfer, because without a big this next year we wont be making the NCAA tournament. The transfers I remember off the top of my head: Gorjak Gok 6-11 kid okie lite, has not said he will transfer but coach ford was fired, Addonnis De la Rosa if we can sway him from Kent State he is a 7 footer and would be a freshman. Also a 6-9 kid Robinson Idehen from California I believe and I do not know what he is rated by the services. Verbal commits says we are in on 5 star Marques Bolden but he is a long shot and it would be a miracle if he came here. Those are the bigs that I know of that Nebraska is after.

Marques Bolden would start every game he ever played at Nebraska but he will never play for the Big Red.

  2. This service just became available in Omaha starts at $39.99 USD for 60+ channels.

You do need a PlayStation 4.

The core package which starts at $44.99 USD includes, BTN, CSN, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNNews, ESPNU, FS1, FS2.

    More information here.

    Just another option.

It says on the PS website that you can also view through a PS3 and Amazon Fire TV. Is that for secondary TVs? Do you have to have the PS4 for the initial programming feed?

"Trump, an admirer of Vladimir Putin and other dictatorial leaders, may claim to be your friend and protector now, but as his history indicates, without your full support he will turn on you, and use whatever power is within his means to punish you."

    Sounds like Taylor Swift

Sounds like most versions of God.

  4. "Plimpton told ABC News last year that she had “two abortions as a young woman,” which “made it possible for me to live out my dreams and do what I really wanted to do with my life.”

Per this logic, anything that is done to to help you to "live out dreamzzzz!!!!" is acceptable and to be applauded? What an OUTSTANDING role model to young women!!

Not sure you have a grip on what logic is.

We can leave it here. I strongly disagree that belief in God is a suitable rejoinder to criticism of the obstinate, scornful characterization of women's choice as selfish.

Abortion definitely isn't an easy topic, and different denominations vary on it. It's been a welcome discussion from my end and I appreciate you having it with me. I just think, don't come out with something like this ...

she is a c**t. I want her to feel shame. She should feel shame. She's a piece of sh#t. I wish her mother had aborted her. Wonder if she would be in favor of that?

@Red, I moved your latest to the 'Shed. It's not the only post that should probably be there, but hopefully it's enough. That kind of tone that's been going on a little ways back in this thread, only belongs there -- if you and JJ would like to continue it in that vein :\

What kind of wizardry is this? Posts can get moved to the woodshed room? Interesting.

Yup. There's a specific thread where your dirty laundry gets hung out for everyone to see.

Well, everyone that has the keys to the executive washroom, that is.

You mean the whole thread doesn't disappear? What will they think of next? ;)

  6.

    No.

Okay. I'll quit wasting my time on this subject with you then. I happen to believe there is something bigger at play than for the only consideration to be what feels good and is most convenient for me. If a person can't consider things beyond that limit, it really is a useless exercise in futility. Thanks for being honest and answering my question.

Curious, what does god say about abortion specifically? Or cancer treatment. Or life support?

Jesus once told me to stop playing with myself.

Trying hard to not take this to the next level. :box

Subquestion: should any law in the US be based solely on a religious belief?

If anyone answers yes to this...I can almost guarantee they are voting for Cruz.

Why wouldn't he be honest about it? Its not like its something he should be ashamed of.

And even if there is a higher power, its very likely not one that humans worship. JMO.

    You will get zero results...ha

    Hmmm...true.

However, what I find interesting about this is that I constantly hear his followers claiming the fact he tells the truth as the reason they are voting for him. And, they are extremely emotional about it.

If you never question content, how will you know if it contains a lie?

Trump supporters are largely mindless followers.

Would that make the followers of every other candidate the same thing?

I am saying that many of Trumps supporters aren't followers of politics. They are the types to buy a shamwow because the commercial made it look cool. But that what you get when a reality tv star runs for president.

That said, you are correct that every candidate has its blind supporters.

If by "not followers of politics" in the sense that Trump has a lot of supporters who are sick of "politics" then I'd say you're right. But I think saying that Trump's supporters flat out don't understand how policy affects the country wouldn't be any less correct if you were talking about any other candidate's followers. In the end, the people who think they know politics probably know the least of anyone.

No, I am not talking about people sick of politics, I am talking about people who have no clue and watch a lot of reality television. Basically people that need to be told what to think instead of thinking for themselves.

And I am not saying this is what makes up all of Trumps supporters. But those types seem to be drawn to him.

And, this is just my opinion again but, I see no substantial difference between aborting a viable fetus, that will become a human baby if somebody doesn't go out of their way to kill it simply because it may be inconvenient in their life, or murdering a 3 month old baby because, hey, when were babies not inconvenient? Is inconvenience on a persons life the only hurdle to meet to make a life or death decision on another persons life? I sure don't think so.

We agree to disagree on this as well. I don't feel a million two week old fetuses are equal to a three month old but that is just my opinion.

  17.

Then, people just sit and watch or listen to the media that agrees with them and the extremes become more and more extreme.

Huge problem. And its not just with politics. Its that way with religion, truck brands, college football teams, etc.

If we can legally and morally kill a person who is brain dead (i.e., remove them from feeding tubes) then why is it immoral and should be illegal to end the existence of something that's never achieved consciousness?

I was not aware "we" could morally kill a person who is brain dead.

Also, I don't believe "achieved consciousness" is the make or break point for a whole bunch of people in this debate.

Some, actually a whole bunch of, people believe that life is created at the moment of conception.

Some people feel that ending a life, for whatever reason, through whatever means, is not up to us but rather should be determined by natural death. I'm not saying I am of this belief in all cases but I also sure don't think abortion should be used as simply another birth control option.

i don't have a strong opinion either way, but it does seem that consciousness, measured by some sort of brain activity, is a more reasonable point of demarcation than conception or cardiac death.

    So when does consciousness begin?

I don't know, but I'm looking forward to it.

    Gunga, gunga-lagunga.

  19. I agree with the sex ed and available birth control. However, I don't include the morning after pill as part of any responsible birth control options. How about instead of "the morning after pill" we try a little "responsibility and clear headed decision making the night of intercourse"?

Agree to disagree. I think the morning after pill should be in a vending machine next to the snickers bars.

  20.

My comment came from the position of trying to assume I really don't care if some one has an abortion as far as killing a baby.

I still get the same reaction.

This lady is proud of the fact that not once but twice she and her partner ( yes he is a part of this) were so irresponsible that this was required for her to have a fulfilling life.

She is so proud of it that she is going to advertise it on her clothing.

That is just weirdly odd to me.

Of course you meant a fetus. A BABY is one who has already been born. I realize such wording helps the picture that you are trying to paint but it is incorrect nonetheless.

    No

I would agree with you but then we would both be wrong.
