  1. Yea, I thought it was really stupid of him to not take some of the offers he got out of college.

Eric, doesn't that article say he was allocated to NFL Europe by the Chiefs?

i say good for him. hell we all have tripped up a few times in our lives. who can blame him for desring more and not conceding his dream in the past.

yeh i saw that dave. maybe the cheifs want him to refine his skills since the season are opposite of each other. then he'll be more ready to get after it this fall.

    good luk EC!! :horns2

  2. this is friggin classic. shud be sent to ALL mizzu recruits.

Brooks said after the visit he received phone calls from some current and former Tigers players who advised him against going to Mizzou.

man it doesnt get much worsethan that. along with Brooks listin Finkel as the main reason he didnt go to MU, I think its safe to say the fink is on his last leg. :flush

  3. yo this quote from barnett shud be on the onion.

Buffaloes head coach Gary Barnett said that Huskers head coach Bill Callahan failed to extend the professional courtesy of asking Barnett's permission to speak to CU receivers coach Ted Gilmore before making employment overtures.

In fact, Barnett said, he didn't hear from Callahan until after Callahan had hired Gilmore on Thursday.

"It's just an ethical issue," Barnett said. "It's just how you choose to do your business. I always extend that courtesy."

Callahan said he did in fact extend the courtesy, via Tim Cassidy, Nebraska's associate athletic director for football operations.

"Tim called (Barnett) on my behalf before the interview took place, absolutely," Callahan said.

an ethics lessn from barnett??? kinda like the pothead callin the stoner high isnt it.

  4. thats oky, b/c M vick doesnt have to win the game, he just has to not lose it for them. their strentgh is their running game, like the eagles weakness is their running defense. look for the falcons D to key on westbrook and nullify him, which leaves mcnabb passing to... mcnabb?? falcons run this one down thos philly fuggers throats.

  5. so what do you boys think? is the pitt-pats game going to be the real superbowl and the ATL philly game for 2nd place or what. im a 'burgh fan meself, and realy think they have what it takes to take down the giant this yr. Roth is the new Brady. the thing that scares me is tht these two could beat each other up so much that they might not have much left for ATL, who is going to pummel philly, I hope. theres no other less deserving fans than those philly scumbags. biggest buncha aholes ever. and they wonder why that team has such bad karma... awwww and poor TO, cudnt have happned to a bigger jerkoff.

  6. gud pt. i wud agree that mos of these guys kno where thyer going days b4 its announced. dont really think it comes down to the wire like mos of us like to think and the services like to make us think. so heres my thought, i wod also tend to believe the the coches of the schools kno where the kids are probly going also several days ahed. so with that in mind do you think the schools that know thyre out jus may back off and stop visiting, where the ones that are probly N want to keep contat bc they know hes "their" guy, and dont mind investing more time into him. ala MU kinda backing off Brooks & Blakes late visit to Suh. Suh sed he knew for wks but jus wantd to clarify some things with blake, almos as if they were talkin about registering for classes and getitng him the playbook etc. and im sure blake knew that he wasnt changing any minds on the 11th hr, so woudnt have bothered if he wasnt pretty confident we had him.

so if my theory is true all of our guys stopping down to see Reg at the las min is a positive indicator. ;) at leas in bobbies world.

  7. well your good old uncle bob finally did it guys!! rmember that pic with me old lady from one post ago wit the horible sox? well you see me and her we GOT IT ON!!! yes we did. YES WE DID!@!! oky but I KNOW A GUY WHO DID!! well u c the two of em made a little 17 lb ball of magic jus the other day. see and you guys thought that was a pile of meat drapes fallin out the bottom o her curtains. hah. not so fast mi frenz. :woo

  8. yes of curse lincoln NE is more laid back than a city 5 times its size. hello. the thing this kid doesnt realize is that when he took his visit it was thanksgiving break!! what do you expect.. most of the studnets dont even go to the CU game, and after the game everyone scatters like kstate fans when the lights come on.

  9. yeh lookz like CB wont be ready today. his Moms is pullin hard for NU and baby momma wants MU.. mostly b/c its closer. so he is torn. maybe tomoorrow or it may string out even longer. let the kid make a good decision and be at peace wit it. last thing we want is to sign a kid and then ahve him transfer bc hes not happy.

  10. So, I wonder why you would do this. Is there a prize or just so you can say you ate a 6lb burger or 11lb burger including fixins, whichever? For me the beef wouldn't be the hard part, it would be the cup of mayo, cup of mustard, cup of ketchup and cup of relish, that's a hell of a lot of condiment...

did you not read that story right slackman?? let me clarify, you get 6 pds o beef one large onion, two whole tomatoes, one half head of lettuce, 1 1/4 pounds of cheese, top and bottom buns, and a cup each of mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, banana peppers and some pickles, for 23.95!!! personally they had me at 1 cup of mayogrease.

and btw the prize you ask about is called a week off work. :flush

  11. That's a good point, AR - perhaps commiting to a "system" has some advantages, though I am not completely convinced it brings in better recruits, just ones looking to play that style of ball.

I've been trying to gather some stats on the effect of recruiting on team success - and even though I don't have that much data yet (finding historical recruiting ranks is sort of tough) from 2001 to 2005, the correlation between finishing in the top 25 polls, and then having a top 25 recruiting class for the following season is unmistakable.

Conversely, having a losing season, or bowl-game loss, reduces recruiting rankings (which is what makes NU's recruiting run this year quite remarkable, and probably the only hopeful kernel I have for BC's staff).

Although, there seems to be a perennial effect as well - Tennessee, Ohio State, USC, Iowa, Michigan, Texas, Miami, Georgia, etc. seem to maintain top 10-15 recruiting classes regardless of the previous year's record (which is something that contributes to my notion that a National Championship really requires a 2 year run).

I'm hoping there's significant improvement next year, or else we might fall out from under the perennial effect and the losses start counting heavier against recruiting.

    IRISH!

very intersting comments guys, thanks for the input. would be real intersted to check those stats out Irish if you get em. :thumbs

  12. you make good pts but I don care a great qb finds a way to win. again the vaunted P Manning Machine put up a whoopping THREE pts on a diluted secondary. yes Belichick is a witchdoctor and the pats are probly the best all around TEAM of all time, but im sorry peyton just isnt a winner. wheres Tee martin when you need em.
