  1. I don't know if mcbride ever got pissed at a coach but I know his mouth wasn't nothing to great. He threw fbombs around like it was job.

McBride at least had the class to not run after a coach and cuss him out after the whole country saw him get his ass handed to him. Did Pelini try and choke out Pete Carroll after the Orange Bowl for hurting his head coaching chances by showing that USC was a far better team? It's never Pelini's fault, always something. Right?

yah maybe mcbride stayed in his shoes at the games but he wasnt afraid of playin O st bumper cars with terrell farley every now and then either. some may say he likes himself some dewars. not trying to drag a good man through th mud but just want to set the record straight that he was/is no archbishop. but i would hang with the guy any day of the week. :cheers

  2. Nothing against this recruit in particular, but since when did it become the norm. for a high school senior to already have a family before even entering college? I've read where at least I believe 5 of the recruits we are after either already have a child and/or wife and expecting a child. Is this something that is just popping up this year, or is this becoming the norm.?

If the recruit is living up to his responsibilities as a father/husband, his first priority should be his family. I just don't know if you want a kid coming in here with this much pressure already and trying to juggle football and academics. I never even played college ball, and I had a difficult time adjusting with the academics without a wife or a child. I'm not saying we shouldn't take a chance on some of these players, but it seems like we have a lot of them that already have families. Maybe I'm just out of touch, but I never remember these kind of things in the past.

Maybe I'm just pessimistic, but I believe it is very risky handing out scholarships to players coming in that have families. IMO, it is like a ticking time bomb. Problems at home lead to problems on the field and vice versa. It just seems like a big risk to me!

you make good pts JR. god knows i couldnt handle me own self in college, hence the only thing i walked away with was a fistful of credit cards and a t-shirt with my fat mug on it that read "college". yah they used me melon for the "after" shot of belushi. anyway i digress. but actually that leads me to my point which I acutlaly have this time. IMO a single guy livin the high life of being a big time recruit on a big time colege campus the first time away from home with skanks throwing their koogles at you left and right, would be alot more risky than a kid who already is established and seems to have his ducks in a row and priorities straight. hell he would have to if he plans to bring his ol lady and curtain clmber wit him. his lady will keep him in check and in most cases people with kids are mor mature than kids that are still working on having some kids.. with multiple baby mommas. thats justmyHO, tho. did any of that make sense?

  3. I like what i hear so far... on paper that is. sounds like he passes the eye test, but the differnce b/t the all-airport team and all-americans are teh spit and fire needed to turn yourself into a beast int he off-season when noones cheering for you.

best of luck Brock and welcoem to Husker Nation1! I can hear it now:

"KState Pastuerized by Brock and boys!"

  4. He's a reggie bush type if you ask me. not saying he's that good but he's not a every down back. He's can get a few carries but he'll be better at some wide out and some returns imo.

    \

If he gets here. Hearing him talk, who the heck knows.wow

man give the guy a break. you hear 1 interview with him if that, and youre already judging him?? sounds to me like he had a pretty tough roll of the life dice and from wher Im sittin has made pretty remarkable progress to get as far as he has. slap you in front of a national audienace and see if you come off sounding much smarter. ;)

me I'll give him the benefit of the doubt before I pencil him in any column. best of luck Marlon, Im rootin for you on a personal and professional level! :thumbs

  5. dont kno abou that bob, but this bob got the good word from a friend in the Lou. a buddy that knows a buddy thing, so take it for wat its worht.

like bob sed Chris is expected to make his pick by Tue or wed of this wk. the itneresting thing is CB still doenst really feel he knows Pinkel from MU. feel real comfortable with the NU staff, but stil trying to get a bond with pinkel, and hasnt even heeard from him for sevearl days. plus his mom is even leaning towards NU. so from what ive heard most indicators say chris is N!!!!!!!!

  6. This hillbilly is a joke. he has proven time and time again he cant produce when on the big stage and everything is focused on him. he has a solid running game in Edge, a great O-line and still cant get it done. i dont care if you say they have no D - THE OFFENSE ONL Y SCORED 3 FRIGGIN POINTS! this over-hyped best offense ever is nothing but hype. they play on the moon in that dome but take him outta ther and he is neutralized.

he did it for 3+ years at Tenn and now is becoming a repeat loser for the colts. Im just glad he was exposed so now hopefuly everone stops talking about him. :flush

  7. Okay ive heard this comparison several times now so wanted to hear what you guys thought.

in the Falcons Rams game this past wknd the falcons put up over 300 yds rushing, and only 80 yds passing, and people made comments that they looked like the old Nebraska teams. but you know whats intersting is that the Falcons currently run a west coast offense.. and i don have a very good memory but Im pretty sure the presnet day 'skers ALSO RUN THE WCO!! so i guess it goes to show you that the WCO is flexible and can be smashmouth when needed.

  8. i remember seeing this pic posted in another thread.,an someone sed it was probly fake. well guess not!!

100-Pound New Jersey Woman Downs 6-Pound Burger

    POSTED: 8:42 am EST January 17, 2005

    UPDATED: 11:45 am EST January 17, 2005

CLEARFIELD, Pa. -- A 100-pound female college student is the first to meet the Denny's Beer Barrel Pub challenge: down the restaurant's six-pound hamburger -- and five pounds of fixins' -- within three hours.

Kate Stelnick, 19, of Princeton, N.J., made the five-hour drive with two friends from The College of New Jersey on Wednesday, after they saw pictures of the monster burger, dubbed the Ye Old 96er, on the Internet and on TV's Food Network.

"I just saw it on TV and I really thought I could do it," Stelnick said, after downing the burger in two hours, 54 minutes.

Stelnick didn't eat for two days to prepare for the challenge. "I felt very full, but I was too excited that I actually ate it to notice," Stelnick said.

Denny Leigey Jr., the owner of the bar 35 miles northwest of State College, had offered a two-pound burger for years and conceived of the six-pounder after his daughter went to college and phoned him about a bar that sold a four-pounder.

But nobody had finished the big burger in the three-hour time limit since it was introduced on Super Bowl Sunday 1998 -- not even competitive eater Eric "Badlands" Booker. The 420-pound Booker -- who has eaten such things as 49 glazed doughnuts in eight minutes and two pounds of chocolate bars in six minutes -- tried three times to eat the burger and finally did on his third effort. But it took Booker 7 1/2 hours.

The burger takes 45 minutes to cook, and those who try to meet the three-hour limit must use no utensils and eat all of these fixins: one large onion, two whole tomatoes, one half head of lettuce, 1 1/4 pounds of cheese, top and bottom buns, and a cup each of mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, banana peppers and some pickles.

Leigey said he was pretty sure somebody would meet his burger challenge, though he didn't have a petite woman in mind.

"I wouldn't have made it if I didn't think it was possible," Leigey said.

For her trouble, Stelnick got a special certificate, a T-shirt and other prizes and -- as advertised -- Leigey picked up the $23.95 tab for the burger.

  9. This is all laughable to me. pelini has a track record of roid raging when things dont go his way, and then he makes comments like this

"You know it's not true," Pelini said. "He's probably saying it because he's bitter about not coming here. Kids are kids. He's an 18-year-old kid.

this quote in itself is practically self condemninG!! when given a chance to be the big man and make a case for himself, waht does he do?!! he calls the kid bitter, and then all but says "who you gonna believe anyway, me or some 18 yr old kid??" what a winner.

it's like OJ saying sh$T like "no I didnt murder Ron & Nicole, but Ron's parents really didnt love him anyway so who cares!!"

and no i didnt make that quote up about oj i wish i did. he really said that. :waste

  10. Bo Pelini, the pinnacle of unprofessionalism. Why would Dillard lie about Pelini, he would have no reason to.

he told you, it was bc dillard was "bitter about not coming here"!! you know, th typical reaction of croots that get offer from a team but decid on another, they tend to get really pissd at the other tems theydecided not to go to!!! :rollin

    what a sad man.

  11. what r his connections to cally? why would an OC in the nfl take a demotion??unless hes getting fired which he probly shud. weird. Jack Jim or Joe tell you this one Kramer?

  12. naw K man my response was quite a bit less heart felt. you guys mus have somethin special. bascially mine jus sed somethin along the lines of stop standing in the nude wearing easter bunny ears outside of Mr Pederson's house with your shotgun or you will be arrested. Kinda mean spirited i thought.

  13. no doubt. those have alwyas been my fav cheerleader outfits. for some reason their cheerleaders always look hotter than eveyrones elses. partly due to the attire im sure. too bad they didnt jus march them around the stage for halftime. that woulda been so much better than that trainwreck ofa karoake party they attempted. laughable. props to the crowd for the deuces at the right time. :)
