  1. I think he can be the next urhlacher but who knows.

Why because he is white? Urlacher was a safety in college and a heck of a lot faster then Ruud. Urlacher is second only to Ray Lewis. IMO Maybe Shane Conlan or Chris Speilman if you want to mention LBs that Ruud could end up like.(mentioned because they are white) I think he will be in on running downs and then whoever drafts him will pull him on passing downs. He can't cover anyone in the passsing game.

of course and everyone from florida and cali is a smooth talkin fink. welcome to benards world. yeehaw :flush

  2. man I saw this kid on film and he is a horse. just huge friggin strides and runs away from peopel no problem. i cud see him comin in and winnin the RB job over lucky. but he would also work exceleent as a DB with that big frame and natural speed. anyone know if he is being recruited as aRB and DB or jus RB? would he be okay with DB? i think we still need this one on the board as a DB jus in case Lucky bcomes un.

  3. "It wasn't like it was a behind-the-back thing," said Beck, ranked No. 3 nationally among pro-style quarterbacks by Rivals.com. "I'm not afraid of a little competition. Why should I be?"

Now thats what I like to hear. The only reason I was critical of the kid in the past was b/c it was publicized that Beck had "demanded" that Callahan only recruit HIM at QB for the class of 2005. Guess that wasn't quite the case.

He's looking more and more like the QB we need running the greatest team in CF history. :horns2

Beck fits right in with Callahan and the other coaches who are smooth talking fibbers.

yo B you got some issues dude hat to break it to ya. jus tell me exactly how some HS kid in florida that happens to be a good athlete and recruited by callahan is somehow a "smooth talker" suggesting hes some kinda slleezeball used car saleman??!! where are you getting this? is there somethign you know about him that noon else does?? oh yeah, i probly answered my own question, its the whole "florida & recruited by Callahan" part that automatically makes him a scumbag. of course. at least your not a very narrow minded person or antying. so you got that goin for ya. :thumbs

I have trouble understanding your post. You should try not to talk like a thug who can't type. I think Beck is just really cocky and thinks he's king sh!t when really he pretty overrated. It's obvious that the coaches told him he would be the only qb recruit, otherwise why wouldn't of they went out and recruited hard for another one and now all the sudden the coaches went begging to them because they decided they needed another one so they are going after another jordan adams who isn't much.

how pratel do you "talk like a thug who cant type"???? think about that one benard errrrr mrs perfect and get back to me. and note to 'nard. look at the login name before you defend yoruself next time youre not foolin anyone.

  4. yeh thanks eric for all this. so what do they do with these kids ona weekend with no game? seems like it woud be kinda boring. have to be concerend about the kids looking for that nightlife and buzz in the air. if any of yous been to lincoln on a cold december weekend before finals... it aint exactly jumping. hopefully they can smell the tradition like I smell me cheesburgers!!

  5. He will be headed to the University of South Florida. Best of Luck Danny. He really wqanted to stay in Lincoln, but he had his family to think about.

So whats the story here? is this really fam related? did he redshirt?

  6. Wow. Is this a sign of a lack of confidence in Beck's... ability, or commitment to NU....?

To be honest Im not sure I like this. Personally I didnt agree in the first place with them only pursuing one QB - too many chips on one hand - but for them to go against their word now is even worse. Could cause other recruits to wonder if anything they said to them in the past is legit, or if they are just full of hot air. I'd be interested to hear Cally's statement about this, b/c if he made the fact public before that they were only recruiting one QB no matter what, then he HAS to explain his reasoning for back-treading on his word.

They lie all the time, I don't know why this suprises you.

damn benard you sure know alot! are you using the internet by chance?? :worship hahahahhaahha

  7. That doesn't mean much to me. They are still going to drink and drink alot. They are just going to hide it better than before.

of course they ar thats goes without saying. but i agree it should be banned on campus. dont you think if you could do coke in public more poeple would be doin it?? how bout prositution? you know people are jus hiding it better but if it was legal it would be friggin everywhere, and who wants that? well of coure most everyone on this board, but Im here to tell you i dont want those dirtbag skanks in my hood. this rule will deter some poeple from gettin caught up in it and make it harder to get wrecked and ruin someones life, so its a goodthing.

  8. Well it is over, I am surprisingly relieved. I just do not want to watch this team anymore this year. I was sick of the square pegs in round holes trying to make things happen, whether it was playing man defense without a pass rush, or watching a qb who throws better on the run being forced to stay in the pocket. All I can say about this year is that it was all about transition. The coaches need to adjust, as do the players, they took very painful first steps this season. Even as I was watching games, I found myself talking to friends about future recruits, and upcoming schedules in future seasons. That always seemed to be the good news about this team was the future.

    Grades for the team

    Offense C

Joe Dailey is not the quarterback for this offense, I am still puzzled why we did not let him roll out more and let hime either run or throw to one or two options. He seemed very similar to Brad Smith. Cory Ross and all the running backs were great, glad we have all of them coming back, would like to see Horne at wr or wingback. Offensive line was a pleasant surprise, and the receivers and tight ends showed progress, still would like to see some taller receivers out there though.

Bill Callahan needs to get the play our faster, and I am not sure we need all this movement, overall though I think Callahan is the right guy for the job and will make adjustments

    Defense D

0 pass rush that is just inexcusable, We need some better lineman to make any defense work. I was really disappointed on the lack of leadership on this side of the ball they seemed to quit way to early in the game. You should not need any other motivation besides that N on your helment

Kevin Cosgrove gets another year from me. I did not like his schemes this year, but I still think a pass rush would have changed a lot of things. We also need some bigger db's that can play with the new bread of receivers.

    Players b-

It is encouraging how young we are but some of these guys really need to sack up and ignite that fire that is Nebraska Football

    Coaches B

Difficult transition to make but I think we have the right guy to do it. I think he will adjust and I am excited as hell about all these recruits.

Overall glad it is over, 8 months until next season

thanks for the breakdown yo. so what grade did pedersens teeth get?? i think they held up remarkably well myself. :clap:rickjames

  9. Callahan and Beck made it quite clear that their wouldn't be anyone else recruited at the QB position. Well there is a new guy on the block. No one is even sure that Zac Taylor will even except the offer, but the very fact that the Husker coaches have offered might scare Beck. Callahan gave his word he wouldn't do this. Vote and offer your thoughts.

Is this a good thing or a nother blunder by Callahan?

i voted NO, b/c its not a blunder unless the kid sux at QB. we should absolutely recruit any pieces for the puzzle we need to make the big picture look right, and should not let anyone dictate who we can or cant recruit. i have no prob with it.

  10. "It wasn't like it was a behind-the-back thing," said Beck, ranked No. 3 nationally among pro-style quarterbacks by Rivals.com. "I'm not afraid of a little competition. Why should I be?"

  11. This is a shame. he wsa a very important part of the fabric of NU history. jus wonder what really drove him out?? i know noone wants anyone to say its stevie but seriously, he had to have been frustrated with everyhing last yr more than this yr even, so why now? maybe he has somethin lined up, or maybe he is still insulted that he got relegated to coaching WRs, and I dont blame him.

  12. The last I checked callahan, Horne was one of your prized 4 star recruits.

If they are relying only on recruiting, its gonna be really ugly!

man bobby confused. is callahan to blame for everything bad that has happend at NU for the past 30 yrs... or is it the history of the program? i jus need to know how far we're allowed to go back here b/c im ready to blame him and Steive for the orange bowl meltdowns in the 80's as well.

but before anyting else you may want to return that deegreee you got from the George W school of math bro, cuz it aint workin so well. the las time I checkd Callahan has been a coach at the U for 1 yr, and DH is a JR, which equals 3 yrs. might wanna rerun those numbers on the old Apple IIGS my friend.
