  1. The O-line looks really beat up. At times, some of the guys (e.g., Gates and Knevel) looked like they were really struggling to move laterally or explode into blocks. Probably products of their respective ankle injuries. Not sure about guards and center (that is, if injured or healthy). Seemed like Lorenzo Neal could pretty much do what he wanted yesterday when a run play was called.

  2.

Anyone who truely understands college football realizes that any team is beatable. This sh#t literally happens nearly every week, every year. Rankings don't mean sh#t. Common opponents don't mean sh#t. Historic performance doesn't mean sh#t.

    Nhilism must be exhausting. ;-)

  3. Hope that thing heals up quick. I am surprised he does not have a boot on the left foot as well. On the play that he threw the INT, it looks like Lewis drops most of his weight on TA's left foot when the DE pops Lewis into Tommy. Could be wrong though, but the camera angle made appear that way.

  4. Interesting statistics in that article. Thank you for posting that up.

I would be curious to see a similar comparison across the power conferences over 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 year periods. I would also be curious to see what the upper and lower bounds are for that composite. Curious to see if, statistically, college football has seen a trend towards more parity over a 30 year period OR if what we could call "average" just captures more of the college football landscape than it did at different periods in the past.

I realize it is easy to get caught up in analysis of statistics and focus in on them as the absolute communicator of truth but it is also interesting how they can point to trends or suggest outcomes.

In the end, I think zoogs nailed it.

  5. That's because Tommy doesn't know how to throw a ball away. So when something goes wrong he either takes a bad sack, or throws a bad interception. Which is why you can't have a system that relies on the pass with him. Which I've pointed out before, isn't his fault he was recruited to run a spread option system

In my limited opinion, you can tell he is just reacting a lot. Not really seeing the field but just focusing on one receiver or mentally clicking between options in rapid succession and then throwing at a friendly jersey that pops open in his field of view. I will say that it seems like he is also dodging alot of pressure on most plays when he drops back.
