Would anyone have an issues if SF came here and brought his entire staff with him?

I know its common for a new HC to bring some staff, but ever hear of the entire staff going with him?

I'm guessing his assistants with Nebraska ties come for sure (OL, RB, strength, operations).  The UCF guys might try to stay.  The OC and/or DC could get their HC offer.  He also has a few other random ones.

  2. Now I think Frost is N.  He probably would bring a lot of assistants but will have some spots to fill.  UCF could promote an assistant to HC and a couple of the guys have UCF ties.

I would think the Nebraska guys would want to come for sure.  Here's a list.

    OL -Greg Austin - NE

RB - Ryan Held  - NE

Barrett Ruud  Quality Control  - NE

Zach Duval   Sports performance  - NE

Gerrod Lambrecht  Director of operations   - Concordia

I think he would definitely like to bring his DC (unless he maybe goes for the UCF HC job)

Their TE/recruiting coordinator and DB coaches are from UCF so might stay if given the chance.

Possible that Dewitt (associate HC/LB/Special Teams) or Troy Walters (OC/WRs) could try for the HC job.

Their DL and QB coaches have no ties to either school.  DL coach has also coached LBs quite a bit.

So that would mean DC, OL, RB probably come,

    likely DL, QB

some of OC, ST, LB, WR, DB, TE could be open.

Certainly Frost has plenty of connections that we don't know of and I'd be with whomever he hires.  But it's just kind of fun to think of a few possible former Huskers who have ties.  Getting a former Husker would likely mean that they would stay longer.  Possibly Parrella if their DL guy Dawson coaches LBs.  We have quite a few former DBs with coaching experience (Daniel Bullocks, Minter, Barron Miles, Sanders, Wilhite, Russell Gary).  Carlos Polk coaches ST for Tampa Bay.  Ed Stewart could be sick of the Big 12 and come in some admin role.

    Any other fun thoughts?  :)

  3. Recruiting should be good.

    1. Scott is a hot name who recruits will definitely know about.  I expect the current players will be excited for a change after this season and we'll get some new interest.

    2. He runs an offense that kids will be excited to play in.

    3. He already ties to the midwest, west coast, and Florida.  Get an assistant with good ties to Texas (& maybe northeast) and that's looking good.

    4. Nebraska name, program, facilities...

    Things are looking up!

  4. Back in Lincoln for Thanksgiving and talked to a real "insider" (which nobody wants to hear) but he told me "done deal", Scott is N.

I was always pretty sure he'd come but after talking to him I feel much more confident and relaxed instead of anxious.  Just waiting for the announcement.

GBR, I see a beautiful and Frosty winter ahead!

  6. That Riley won't be retained next year and they will officially begin a search.  Have him finish the last 2 games b/c there is nobody else to take over.  Get rid of Diaco now and let Parrella finish as DC.   Maybe that will give the players an attitude to play for pride and each other.  Maybe throw an upset of the disgrace to humanity program that shouldn't even exist anymore :).  Hopefully get Scott Frost and announce him as soon as reasonable for UCF!
