Plays for TJ in Council Bluffs, TJ beat Sioux City North 99-81 last week (yes I am talking about football not basketball). Baker scored eight (8) touchdowns in the game with 371 rushing yards on 34 attempts. He also has an Iowa offer. I was told by someone related to him the other day that he was visiting for the Colorado game and is a Husker fan, and really wants to play for Coach Frost. He believes Frost is bringing Nebraska back to where it belongs. I think if we offer him he will commit. #9 player out of Iowa.

Does anyone else see the similarities between Lee and Bo, and the way they interact with fans (and media in Bo's case)?

For those interested in the prop bet on Bovada for Scott Frost being the coach of Nebraska in 2018, the limit you can bet is $50. And with the odds being at -250, the most you can win off your $50 bet is $20. (I still made the bet because imo it's a free $20.)

It's been uploaded to youtube, and is finishing processing on their end. This should be live soon, but I'm headed off to a party, so I didn't want to wait to post it here.
Thank you!!

How's it coming?
I'll try to have it done by Sunday afternoon. I'll post it in this thread, and also the season video thread when it's done.I never saw the Spring Game
Can someone upload it?
I'd love to watch it
Gimme the link when you do.
My capture card took a dump. It's $150 for a new one, so, it's gonna be a week or two before I get it in. Sorry guys!
Gotta work the streets to get the cash, huh? Surely it shouldn't take more than a couple nights to make that kind of money. Just tell em you are a mod on huskerboard and charge extra for your services. You live in Nebraska, that title carries a lot of weight.
Ha! I live in Florida, so it probably won't work as well.
Aha, no wonder it will take 2 weeks! I'm actually pretty surprised that not a single other person has uploaded it to this point. Even UAB's spring game is online, and I was under the impression they no longer even had a football program.

I'm hoping to have a copy uploaded to youtube by the weekend. I've been super busy, and haven't had time.
All good man, thanks in advance. I've been seeing all this talk about how our QBs are amazing and need to see it for myself!

Does anyone know if the spring game is available to watch anywhere? I was busy all weekend with family stuff and didn't get a chance to watch it live or any of the aired replays. Usually it's uploaded to Youtube by the next day, but I still don't see it anywhere.

I guess this guy currently has Sarell as a student in one of his classes. He seems to think that Stanford and Nebraska are the front runners. Also has some really good things to say about coach Cav.

I guess another thing to be learned is that some fans, when presented with numerous areas of vast improvement, will still bitch and moan after only one game. Not sure what it would take to get them to acknowledge the obvious areas of improvement instead of just focusing on the things that also obviously need more work.
Enjoy the win and that at least some things improved ffs.
All Nebraska did today was play 1 half of good football against a very poor team, with a new coaching staff and a rFR QB. I'm happy that we were able to run against a bad team, which wasn't always the case last year, as well as 0 turnovers. But I didn't see much talent on the Fresno side of the ball, and they hung with us and gave us a scare. For a team ranked somewhere in the 100s in almost every major category last season, that is not a positive.
Based on today, I cannot say with any measure of confidence that Nebraska will win the division. Fans sick of negativity need to realize that, at this point, people aren't going to give them the benefit of the doubt until they earn it. A decade and a half of futility will do that to you ffs.
"And they hung with us and gave us a scare"? We won 43-10, what game were you watching rofl?

No panic man, but if your the number one WR recruit from a purely football perspective, do you want to go where they say we are going to do this or somewhere that already does it.
I'm surprised at all the comments about recruits not seeing their position featured in tonights game plan. They're smart kids (hopefully) that understand you base plays on your current talent as well as the other teams deficiencies and outages. Doesn't indicate that they may or may not have a strong role here in the future. Part of their OV is meeting with their position coach and talking about how their skills fit into the plan for the future here. Everybody needs to chill out.Very cool game for so many recruits.
But....did we actually impress any WR or Secondary recruits tonight?
But they are doing a great job recruiting so I'll have faith.
If we passed it 70% of the time, husker nation would be in an uproar that we didn't run the ball enough. When we did run the ball 70% of the time, we should have passed it more to impress the recruits.

FSU was the favorite and they don't even make the top 5.....but Maryland does????
You know how kids these days operate. FSU was his leader back in May. A lot can change in a week for kids let alone 3 months.
May of 2014 even. A lot changes in 2.5 years.

I really expect only 10 on the field and to take the DOG penalty. I don't care what the game situation is, that is what should happen.
Personally, I would like to see our ten players line up facing backwards on one knee. If Fresno has some class they will decline the penalty but, if they don't decline it, that is fine too.
What would actually happen if Fresno declines the DOG penalty? Would we line up again to punt it again? It's a little confusing to me because I think of all the times teams take a DOG penalty on purpose to give their punter more room to work with - couldn't the opposing coach just decline that penalty again and again?
NU wouldn't keep taking the DOG penalty over and over again. They do it once as a gesture, and the Fresno State coaches may decline it, understanding the situation. Riley and the Fresno coach may even discuss it before the game.
Right - I guess what I'm asking is, if we took the DOG penalty and DeRuyter declines, would the protocol be for us to line up to punt again from the same yard line?
Yes, NU would just punt from the original line of scrimmage, since the penalty was declined. I think you are making this too complicated.
So change games to Ohio State. We're at the 40 and want to take a delay of game penalty to give our punter a little more room to work with. Meyer declines the penalty. So according to you, we line up and punt from the original line of scrimmage again. Yet, we still want to have some more breathing room, so we take a second delay of game penalty. Meyer declines again. So we line up to punt again....
Obviously the above scenario doesn't make much sense, but since it is such as simple concept for you can you please enlighten me on how the above scenario would play out? The longest CFB of all time?

But Fresno is the easiest game on our schedule besides maybe Purdue, so to predict we'll win by 3 points is basically saying we're going to go 2-10 this year.
We lost to Purdue last year...
Yeah..last year. I was under the impression we were discussing this year. I could be wrong.

Tom Dienhart: Nebraska 30 - Fresno State 27
At this point I honestly think Dienhart is doing this for clickbait purposes. Fresno is one of the worst team's in CFB, so to say we are only 3 points better than one of the worst teams in CFB is asinine - and that is putting it midly.
If he thinks we'll go something like 6-6 this year I wouldn't argue with him, that's his opinion and that's fine. But Fresno is the easiest game on our schedule besides maybe Purdue, so to predict we'll win by 3 points is basically saying we're going to go 2-10 this year.

I truly wish Keels the best. He's had to go through way more in his life than the vast majority of other CFB players have had to go through. Not a surprise he couldn't put it all together on the field.

#1 matters just as much as #2 does. If the WR gives the QB no help on the ball, then it can lead to an INT. I understand accuracy matters for the QB, but the WR needs to make a better break attack the ball in the air.
#1 and 3 don't matter. If #2 doesn't happen the ball is not intercepted. Period. The DB play and wr have no bearing on if through qb puts the ball where it should it will not be intercepted. It will just be incomplete which is what we can live with.Benning discussed the Pick 6 play on his radio show this morning. He said there were 3 things that caused the INT return for the TD, which was a comeback route on the sideline.
1. The WR made a bad break out of his cut, and didn't come back to the ball very aggressively/downhill. Coach Williams immediately ripped into him.
2. Armstrong didn't make a great throw, as his throw was to the inside, rather than the sideline.
3. Chris Jones made a great cut on the ball and great play.
So, Armstrong appears to have not made an accurate throw on a sideline comeback route, but that is a long throw, and we know that Armstrong's struggles with accuracy at times. However, the pick 6 wasn't entirely Armstrong's fault, and there also should be credit given to Chris Jones. If the WR fights to the ball more, the pass is probably just broken up and the offense moves on.
Not all INT's are the 100% fault of the QB.
A comeback is an outside breaking route. If the qb throws the ball on time and to the outside the ball will not get picked. The ball was picked bc you can't miss inside. If you miss inside then the WR slipping matters.
If the WR makes a bad break and isn't to his spot on time, it doesn't matter where the QB throws it.
If it's a bad throw outside, it's an incomplete pass.
If it's a bad throw inside, it's a pick 6.
On an outside breaking route, it absolutely matters where the QB throws it.

It's really unfortunate that the laws are the way they are regarding marijuana. I don't know Randy's situation at all, but the laws force people with mental illness to either take prescription medication produced in a lab, or take nothing and hope it goes away (it doesn't). Such prescription medication often have all kinds of side effects, which could negatively affect Randy's ability to prepare, train, and execute on the field. For many people, marijuana is a way to deal with such mental illnesses naturally with minimal side effects. I'm not defending Randy's decision to smoke again and again, but in his mind he may be able to justify smoking for not seeing the side effects of the prescription medication he is urged to take.

The football program brings in lots of revenue is my only reason. I don't know how well off his family is and that doesn't matter, with the love KB, and I'm sure Malik and VV have they could help if they want and if its wanted (or the coaches). Also, I really hope if someone sets up a gofundme page its legitimate.
I don't mean this to sound as harsh as it's going to, but why would UNL help the Foltz family with funeral costs? We don't play Sparty this year, I think the two universities would have worked together and had a real special pregame ceremony for these two young men.
Is the university going to help the Foltz family with funeral costs?
A university can't award a financial luxury to one student's family and not every other family that has a child die while taking classes there.
That said, I'm sure the Foltz family will have more than enough financial donations through the coaches, teammates, friends, family, and the rest of husker nation to pay for the funeral costs.

A couple of plays I am confused about?

Rewatched the game this morning. On the incomplete pass ruled fumble after replay and recovered by Illinois at the 14, it was a total blown call by the replay official. It was a fumble, but there was a clear whistle that blew the play dead about 5 seconds before Illinois recovered the ball at the 14. Overturning the incomplete pass was probably correct, but giving the ball to Illinois at the 14 was completely wrong. All players stopped pursuing the ball after the whistle blew except those two Illinois players. It should have remained Nebraska's ball at the spot of the fumble. This blown call directly led to 7 points for Illinois.
