I really think that Hampton, Allen, and Walker have sky high potential, however.

  2. For the defense as a whole, probably an A- to a B+. I'm very happy with the work done on the DL. One of those recruits will be an early contributor. The LB group was a mixed bag (I put Guy Thomas in that group). I like Roberts and GT a whole lot, and Hampton as an athletic projection. I fail to see the upside to Ward, however, and I definitely see him as an odd man out. 6'1 and 200 without flashy athleticism? I would have liked for us to grab another tall, OLB type hybrid player, but the potential change in scheme maybe came too late. I also would have preferred that we snagged another DB, but it's hard to argue against getting the longest DB in the entire class in Blades.

For the offense, I'd give this class a B to a B-. I like Gebbia, but a few years down the line. His high school offense and frame will prevent him from being an early contributor. Tyjon and Jaevon are two of my favorite prospects. KJJ has the potential to be the best pure WR of the bunch, but he's got to get his body back into order. Jaimes and Matt have the potential to provide quality depth, but in ~3 years. Not a big Bando fan, but I understand the offer. Allen and Rafdal look promising (I like Allen more long term than Rafdal). Not a fan of having a scholarship FB. Bradley would have been excellent as a complementary RB to the class, definitely worth the offer. But I'm of the opinion that NU could and should land a 4* RB every year.

  3. Newby looked pretty good. Dealt with contact decently enough. Our impression of him would have dramatically improved if TA thrown that pass a little better.

Ozigbo played decisively and with a ton of power. I'm a big fan of the running back rotation.

Liked what I saw out of the offensive line. Hopefully the success carries throughout the season.

The most vanilla offense I've ever seen. I suspect that the Oregon gameplay will be slightly different.

No edge guy has emerged yet. Front 4 seems kinda concerning still.

Linebackers seem legit. Whenever we rotate them, we don't lose a thing.

Lamar Jackson was just picked on last night. Not college ready yet. Let's see some improvement from week 1 to 2.

I'm very, very impressed with Chris Jones. Like "might be the best player on our defense" impressed. Heads and shoulders better than any other CBs.

The safety play was good. It'll get even better with our two starting strong safeties back.

Overall, we need to cut down on the stupid penalties. Those extended drives and gave Fresno extra points.

Dayum. 4.4 'Backer at NU? Been awhile

    Vonte?

Mohammed Barry...coming up in the trenches...ran a 4.4...so not as long as we thought?

I thought he has more around 4.5. Regardless, if Barry didn't have grade troubles in high school, he would have been a borderline 4-star. Roberts is an even better prospect.

  5. Mixed feelings about it. TA is our best QB right now (obviously), but his skill set is quite drastically different from our future QBs. So while he's a playmaker, he's also preventing us from fully transitioning to the Mike Riley offense.

Having POB and TGEB for the future is pretty sweet.

  6. Taking time off to be able to graduate this semester and prepare for grad school... Hmmm... Do we know where this grad school is?

I'm almost always a lurker, but because there's so much speculation in this thread, I figured I'd chime in (I'm close to this situation). Greg's not going anywhere. He has too many roots in Nebraska now. No need to fret about anything.
