  1. Well another season over and how depressing to see the Huskers beat again. While we did win 9 games, we can't beat a good team. Well with all the seniors graduating this year, I hope Riley has a plan because I'm not sure he even knows that he was at a bowl game. He looks like a little old man wandering around the mall, instead of a coach on the sidelines.

    Happy New Year Husker Nation.

Hope for a winning game plan for next year.

  2. Riley may be a nice guy but when he was hired they knew that he was a 8-5 coach. Just look at his Oregon State record. The AD must be OK with the Huskers never challenging for a conference or national championship. Because Coach Riley hasn't ever won either and obviously doesn't know how to do it. Just look at the outstanding job he did at making adjustments and firing up the team at halftime against Iowa.

I have never seen a coach on the sidelines that has so little affect, he looks like he is wandering around the mall instead of coaching a football team.

He has his 8 wins this year he's good.

  3. Interesting that a lot of you talk about his history at Oregon State, but if I recall was everyone freaking out on the day he was hired because nobody knew who he was at the time. We got hammered by a team with better athletes that had a chip on their shoulder because they felt disrespected. We didn't have a chance once that tipped pass was taken to the house. As I have said before, everyone expected us to lose this game prior to the start of the season and I haven't seen anything during the season that should have changed any minds. It was only the 2nd loss of the season. We win out we go 10-2. RELAX!!

Riley is a great 8-4 coach but he will never get us a conference or national championship. Just look at his history. Remember what Yogi said about "nice guys". 10 and 2 will be much better than 6 and 7 but it still isn't being competitive on the national stage.

  4. I've been a Husker fan for as long as I can remember and this was by and far the worst offensive football game I have seen the Huskers play. I don't think any of us are truly giving up but after last year and the whooping Saturday night and the fact that we haven't beaten a ranked team on the road since 1999 (the AFLAC question of the game). It is disheartening to say the least and as others have said, I hope we don't make it to Indy this year. Two crushing defeats on national TV in one year would destroy any hope for recruitment for several years.

  5. Despite issues that will need to be fixed I am very optimistic heading into next year.

    Defense improved throughout the year.

With a QB who fits the system we could have a very stout offense.

Tommy made some bad decisions all day and without the 4 picks we win the game. The loss isn't all on him though.

Never got blown out this year which is good.

Looking forward to next year and I do believe this staff will be successful over here.

I agree with some of what you said, but I think the Purdue loss counts as a blow out. Just saying

  6. What I learned from this game is that Riley can't develop a game plan and the AD got exactly what he wanted in a coach. I have never seen a coach so out of touch with the game. You watch Riley on the side lines and you can't tell if were winning or getting killed. No affect at all.

I feel sorry to the team they are being set up for failure. Yes, you can blame TA for 4 picks and who can count the bad throws, but it is the coaching staff calling the plays. This is the future of Cornhusker football as long as Riley is in charge. Recruiting will be a joke, what kid wants to come and play for a mediocre team?

Thanks go to the AD for bringing us Riley, and he got his wish we aren't like Iowa. They are undefeated.

  7. The call was that he push the reciever out of bounds, that was the correct call in the eyes of the ref. Karma finally smiled on us with a big win. Rutgers is next then some much deserved rest to game plan Iowa.

    GO BIG RED

  8. Glad to see the AD standing by his man, but it is going to be tough to rebuild without recruits. Who in their right mind would want to sign for a team that can't beat the worst team in the Big 10. Its going to be a long four years until Riley is gone and we can really start to rebuild our once great program.
