Read seems completely aloof to the whole game of football. He never appears focused and poised when I see him during the games.. Don't know if that's just me.

I was a little uneasy at the beginning of the season with all the skeptics doubting Nebraska's greatness. After our loss to Wisconsin I started to believe them.
I am fully convinced we have a tremendous amount of soul searching to do. Almost all 9 of our wins this season were barely won. We have talent but we have a severe deficiency in execution and consistency; I put quite a bit of that on coaching.
We are more of a bad football team than is Iowa a good football team.
This is just outright unacceptable.
You forgot to mention a lack of depth especially on the lines. The OL needs a huge talent upgrade as you see what walk on talent get you. The DL needs some depth with some guys who can put pressure on the QB without blitzing. That will make the rest of the defense look a lot better.
I agree with this..
But not sure about talent - maybe more coaching.

With our talent we should have looked like olympic champions against our first 9 opponents - yet we looked like the slow straggling cyclist who somehow managed to get endurance to peddle a little faster than the other person,

Yes Meyer and Saban. Ohio St. got their championship dreams crushed by Penn St. It's no surprise we get straight owned by them after their defeat. Meyer was trying to make a point to other teams and to his own team as well - we don't give up. His team is young overall and he made them look like seasoned veterans out there on Saturday. Meyer deserves all the credit he has received so far.

Talent is not much to me. A great coach will craft masterpeices from the trenches. The great players in my opinion are always the 'diamonds in the rough.' A group of young men who are persistent, teachable/coachable, and passionate. A good coach would make a ball game with a group of kids with these traits. You can have 5-star recruits and more physical talent than you can handle; however, if you can't speak into the lives of young men you'll just be tossing a football around and grunting. I think there are more important lessons in the game of football or any sport for that matter. Which is probably why I value the coaching aspect more than the talent aspect; it's less superficial and harder to do. Average men and women can be pretty successful in sports just by practicing - this gets your talent about equal to most other teams.. The vast majority of improvement is made by coaching. I'm thinking of Nick Saban as a coach who can really rally his team

Ok so this is horrible and embarrassing and the worst part is now I'll have to hear everyday about this horrendous loss for the next few months from anyone who knows I'm a husker fan. But let's say hypothetically we win out. And Wisconsin slips up like did they against Georgia State against a better team and pays the price and loses. And we head to the big ten championship against Michigan, play a tremendous game and win, and head to the Rose Bowl. Is everyone so pissed off then? Obviously it's hard to fathom after a loss like this, but we're not Alabama and were never going to really be able to go undefeated and win a national championship. A lot of things have to improve as we just got absolutely murdered in primetime, but if that happens somehow, will people be happy? Or are we still gonna operate under the notion that going from 5-7 to 12-0 in a year is a regular thing we need to expect from our team?
And I know everyone is gonna say it's the way we lose that sucks. And it is. We haven't even beaten a top 10 team on the road since 1997. I was 4 years old when that happened. But if we win out and Wisconsin loses, which is plausible, and we go to the B10 championship game, that's a hell of a turnaround from last year. Our coordinators are so frustrating but relax a little bit. Jesus. We've beaten everyone we're supposed to beat and lost to the two teams we were supposed to lose to, almost beating one. We play again in a week with a lot of opportunity ahead. Talking about firing a guy who's had a hell of a turnaround in a year who's actually a decent human being and makes me proud to be a Husker fan after two games against great teams is so irrational its embarrassing.
Banking on going to the playoff by hoping the teams that beat us slip-up and lose....I don't know about that. I think our team needs vastly improved to contend against anyone. Look at our wins..most of them are wins that were barely snuck out

We lack any competive play calling, scheming or design. We are lackluster in coaching. I believe in our players but they needs to be coached up.

I want to play bowling green 12 times next year just to fool myself into thinking we have gone somewhere farther than the many unbearable years of the past.

Who gives a sh#t if he is gracious or not..if he put in the time to get his men where they are at he kind of earns the edge to be a little prideful, no?
Dude was a dick at UF and a dick at OSU....Point in case on why Meyer is a major dick.
You may not personally care for him, but it's up to our defense to stop them.
They can't take a knee for the last 1 and a half quarters.
Naw. It's just his whole personality. No different than TO and the 90's. TO was gracious and humble even in curb stompings
Just me. I like humility in winning and losing.
Urban Meyer might be rubbing it in but if he has a valid point other than just being an a-hole it is a little different. If you work 10 years to make something great out of nothing I think it means something to you and you are happy to display it. I think that's part of competing. No?

Imagine next year when all our seniors are gone.......
-
If we win the next three games I might be slightly less pissed than I am right now only because it would be a little bit better than what Bo had done while he was here.

We did tonight but I'm not crazy. Just not as overreactive as some and still have hope for the season despite one really bad performance. What can I say, I'm a fan of the huskers
You are f'n crazy!!!! we have been totally outclassed in players and coaches.Don't think this result is indicative of our team. Ohio State due for a get right game. Tommy went down at the worst possible time because we could have possible mounted a comeback if we would have scored on that drive. We aren't as talented as Ohio State especially our offensive line vs their defense. The defense has been abysmal and it is inexcusable at this point. But realistically on offense, it's hard to do alot with our personell vs theirs. We could do some different things that would help playcalling wise, but the deep ball game plan is not as awful as everyone makes it out to be if Morgan catches balls he needs to catch, in fact would have completely changed the complexion of this game.
Still proud of this team, still think we have a good team and I still trust in HCMR. It's a process and we all know this was not the year to go all of the way, even though we positioned ourself well
I think we are all fans here too or we wouldn't be rooting for them and upset with the performance. It's more than a bad performance...it's a telling performance on so many levels......

This is horsesh#t. We obviouslny need some heads to spin after this. Imagine how fired up Bo would be on the sidelines hahahaha
-
We had a poor game against a great opponent that played very well today and everyone acts like the season is gone to sh#t now. We could finish the season 12-2 still yet yall want to end the season now so we end on a low note and can fire all of our coaches
No because im not happy with a team that wins against all the lackluster teams. I want a team with determination that wins against the well coached well talented teams. We've had this type for how many years now?
-
time for morgan to make a catch
-
Yeah the game would still be terrible with Tommy...no doubt. NO DOUBT AT ALL..
-
and now my boss bitching about my employees.....huskers losing so bad, and trump almost gets slammed at a rally.....could this night get much worse?

Their team is young so it's obvious the abilities in Urban meyer and co
The youngest team in FBS.....that's coaching....
yes sir
They are also stacked with 5 stars. Talent!!!
yeah how much more is a 5star recruit with a great desire to be good than a great desire to coach well and have your players perform well

Someone said it earlier but I want to reiterate how true it is that we are being outcoached... look at the last 7 games. It's not like the players just lost their knowledge and physical abilities over the last week.
Two years in....no growth

It's downright unacceptable; however Riley can give another go by me. I'm not sure about the talent argument. If the argument is a better class next year it will come by coaching since most of the team will be younger. We are losing so many mature, experienced seniors this year. On both defense and offense.
