  1. Mike Riley has a winning percentage of 1000.00 this year. The past doesn't matter, the next game does. Take the "which coach can win where and who's better" to the semantics dome e.b. white..riley has upgraded his staff and has some talent on this roster, that he could ride to a great season. You can't judge the current state of the program on his past with a completely different school and set of circumstances. There are plenty of coaches on all levels that have won despite their short coming bc they got out of their own way, had excellent coordinators and got the mlst out of the talent they have. MR can do the same.

I have been following the Huskers since 1963.  I would rather now blame Riley.  The Huskers are just not tough anymore.  They haven't been since Solich was fired.  He just couldn't recruit.  The Huskers and Longhorns share the same deficit.  They lack that toughness of yesteryears

Toughness of yesteryear gets you flagged for unnecessary roughness nowadays.

  3. Clip looks like gifford/newby are slow in reading their keys and reacting even slower. A lot of thinking going on by the defense, especially the olbs, instead of reading/reacting. I played bandit/rover in a 3-5 which is similar to dog pos in diacos 3-4. Gifford should be taking read steps instead of being cemented in place, newby looks unsure of his read/assignment hence the extra few steps. No insight on how they teach their position but i would think they are supposed to take their two read steps and either pursue the run or get to their drop and find a man. Too much thinking going on

KJJ will be back on campus the same time Bookie would be coming.

I have a feeling being at IMG and some of their coaching staff could be playing a role.

Staff is made up of guys from Indiana, head coach sent most of his players during his first big run on the national scene at Warren central in indianapolis to B1G schools. Even have one of his former players on our roster now from when he coached at carmel. Db coach is from vtech. Wr coach is former Mr Indiana that played sparingly at Purdue. Not a bunch of Florida connects there. Doesn't mean they aren't pro Florida now being in their backyard but I don't think they are pushing Florida on him

  5. He's short. There it's been said. Now we cam move on and hope he gets some more peer recruiting in and gets others excited to play along side him at DONU. His height would be concerning if he wasn't as fast or explosive as he is.looks to have a great vert which more thank makes up for a few inches of height. Also big receivers don't always have success against smaller dbs. Purdue used to have a 6'8 or 6'9 receiver about a decade ago and he got ate up by small corners quite often. Kid is being raved about lately and his height appears to be a non issue to most everyone

  6. I love coach Tom, nice man and all time great coach. Nick saban and what he has done over the last decade and change has been nothing short of spectacular. I don't care if he's giving out corvettes to recruits, he still he gets them to buy in and play at high level. If you ain't cheatin you ain't trying. A large majority of college football programs use shady ways to be their recruits yet sabams hasn't been caught which if he is so rampant in doing so like everyone says I'm even more impressed. I hate Nick sabams but he has put together an all time great resume and that resume gets the edge over TO. If I got to choose who to play for id go TO. Larry K from mount union has better resume than both but he bounced my school from the playoffs so f that guy

  7. Hey remember that one time When Gerry was trying to suck bc he didn't buy in and picked two passes off to kill badger drives?

I think his not buying in comment could be taken as calling out teammates for not putting in the best effort, posibly two d line teammates. That's how it could be perceived.

If the kid didn't buy he had two pretty good seasons for not doing so and wish we could see what he would be done if he had

Why is everyone considering Ohio state a guaranteed loss? Yes they have more talent but mid major teams play inspired and beat power 5 teams quite a bit. Why can't the Huskers (once a powerhouse) play inspired for one game and pull one out?? Have some faith people

Because the Huskers aren't a mid-major, or even lower-level P5 program. Ohio St wouldn't overlook them
Teams that you hang 63 points on the year before get overlooked sometimes.
  9. He was very inconsistent and poor finisher. Played dinged up a lot too. I had really high hopes he would put it all together and have a big senior season but never had a string of complete games. Disappeared in games sometimes that I would have to actively search for him before the snap to see if he was still in(he was most times). As a bears fan it's cool to have a husker to root for but don't think he'll play prominently in the dumpsterfire that the bears have become
