Ossoff has spent over $47 million since January for this Congressional seat, which is the most money spent on a House race ever. 93 percent of the donations came from CA, NY and MA. This is a pure desperation move by Democrats for a win, a seat that will last a year since this seat is up for election in 2018. It's sad I'm rooting for Handel, who is no peach. However, I don't like my district being bought by Californians and New Yorkers.

Those figures are including NRCC ran ads and other various PACs/Committees, which I didn't include in the discussion. I was going off personal donations $200 or less. Both got help from PACs and other outside sources, this is America. Obviously, the issues of this country are more important than a one year congress temp, but the point is democrats wanted to stick it to Republicans in a Bible Belt red state, and threw everything they had at it. Coming up short.

Yes, I agree that they threw all they had and came up short. And I'm sorry for having my disappointment seep through my initial responses here. AFAIK, data's murky for <$200 donations, which campaigns aren't required to disclose. Direct contributions above that is where 78% comes from. It's even higher for Ossoff. My main point here is that this preference seems partisan.

And GA has several strong blue districts neighboring the 6th. The hope was that the blue would show up in the suburbs too, especially one that is (relatively) more in the middle. The vote was close, and such results may be indicative of GA-6's future. SC-5's result today is probably more surprising.
