Well fought game bud, I thought you guys had it. Had your receivers caught a few of those drops, we'd have an L right now. Good luck to you guys the rest of the season.
We've got a freshman who catches anything you put within a zip code of him, super surprised he wasn't in the game late.

That was a fun game for our side. I know that you are not pleased with it, but we were so happy to see our offense play this well.
You guys are a class act and hopefully for both of us, you go on and win all the rest.
Good Luck Huskers.

You missed last year's sure winner. Money Hunter (son of former Minnesota Twins outfielder and Arkansan Torii Hunter)

I'd be willing to be it Arkansas St was a top 10 team and Jerry World offered your AD $5-6M to play like they do Michigan-Florida for the game, he would be a bigger fan of them.
Absolutely, a paradigm shift of that magnitude would definitely warrant a change in strategy.

Our AD has said we won't leave the house for a "guarantee" game for less than $1.5 million. If you want to do less, we'll do a home and home if we can figure out the details.
Also, AD not a fan of neutral site games especially if we're giving up a true home game to do it.

Home stretch.
I really don't have a prediction, other than it'll be closer than Husker fans would like for about 3 qtrs. (Could be totally wrong, could be close until kickoff...lol)
But I'm trying to keep the hope for a really good season alive.

Or... we could just keep scheduling either all Sun Belt or MAC schools and win their respective conference championships.
Don't do all Sun Belt, Arkansas has that distinction. They're pretty much an honorary member of the conference having played every current member except Coastal Carolina. Oh and the one that resides in their state.

I think we will keep it real vanilla this weekend. I see a heavy dose of run game seeing which one can separate from the pack, but it's clear the coaches think it will be Bryant at this point. We should be able to get after the QB with the inexperience for Ark St offensive line.
Here's the thing. I would say that sounds correct about the OL, but consistently through practice they've done a better job of protecting the QB than the senior-laden version we ran out there last year. There would be times when when the offense would have to throw the ball after the whistle to give the DBs a look at coverage. A lot of times actually. So there's hope that our QB will be upright or not running for his life across the turf on Saturday. Granted, no one has seen them against another team, but there were more live periods this fall camp than any of the past four falls, trying to season them as much as possible.
Please don't think I'm saying that the Huskers won't get after Justice Hansen, because this group hasn't been in the fires together yet, but they definitely have potential.

Is Dee Liner going to play? Thought he was hurt.
All the coaches seem hopeful that he may make it back. I can say that the last two times I got to practice, that the difference between the first and second day was extreme. He was much more mobile and doing a lot more stuff. I would think they would make a call on it by Thursday, so you may see him listed on the depth chart still.

Pete Fiutak, who normally is pretty high on the Red Wolves, put in a 37-10 win for the Huskers in his prediction today. He's really high on the Huskers outlook for the year.

I'm interested in whether Tanner Lee can scramble for a 1st down. He's not a statue, so if he can scramble just a few times a game, it would really help against a pass rush.
We're interested to see how often our QB will do that, too. He's a guy who has a good 40 time, but we've not seen a ton of it.

What if, on his first 3 plays this Saturday, he has 2 interceptions and a fumble and they're all brought back for touchdowns?
Then we'll be passed out from exuberance in Jonesboro....

At a signing day reception, one fan said to Coach Anderson, "I just wish he was three inches taller". Coach said "No you don't he'd be in the Big XII".
Crazy thing is, he's the best pass blocking RB among those with experience and he trucks a couple people every year. He's just an incredible mass of muscle. Not a little breakaway guy at all.
As long as you are winning, he's fun to watch. If you're losing, "Can't somebody tackle that little guy?"
As ArkStFan said, he's not going 80, but he might break four 20-yarders, just by slipping through holes and not taking a full on shot from a defender. We don't have a breakaway threat at RB (that we know of) but we have a bunch of slasher types who can bust chunks of 12-25 yards. We're anxious to see how the new OL impacts the RBs, they might look great if the OL is better.

If not of the defensive TD, would have been even uglier.

Well, with less than one week to go until gametime, how are the Huskers feeling?
I can say that there is some optimism but there is a lot of feelings that we will do like we have done the last few years in non-conference and play poorly early, then play well in the conference slate. There are too many instances of us having some optimistic outlooks and they come crashing down around us. We've often talked about being the Boise of the South, or the NIU of the Sun Belt. We can't seem to make that next step, and every time the schedule seems to line up, the teams on the schedule either have a great year or we have deficiencies that they exploit (speed, size, depth).
I'd love to say I feel confident, but unless we can make Tanner Lee's first start in Big Red miserable, we as a fan base might experience some misery.
Hopefully the Huskers win every game but this one, but I figure they'll win this one (barring a miracle).
Another fun fact, Ameer Abdullah had 170+ yards in his first start against AState in 2012. Zac Lee had 340 yards passing in 2009. With a new starting RB and new starting QB, who will the breakout star be?

Liner's injury has dampened a lot of moods around here. He was so good in the bowl game and when he wants to be, he can be a handful. There is now an outside chance that he plays next weekend, but I'm not holding my breath.

This seems to be our luck when it comes to playing P5 Teams.
We've seen in their first action or first season as a starter: Cam Newton, Nick Marshall, Marcus Mariota, Brad Kaaya. We've also had Taylor Martinez and Zac Lee tear us up when we've been up to Lincoln. Martinez I want to say missed on one throw, while Lee threw for 350 yards.

The DE that's supposed to be real good for ASU scares me.
We figure that he's going to draw a lot of attention early until we have some other DL step up to take heat off of him.
Congratulations, good luck Huskers

With our HC taking playcalling duties over, we wondered how it would look. This is easily the most talented offensive unit we've had ever, so to see that come to fruition on the field, (when we're only losing two-three starters for next year (and have MORE transfers coming in) was nice. We hope it carries over to next week against a very good Miami bunch, but having them at home at least feels comforting.
You guys will be fine. Lee is good, and Bryant is a slippery RB. Last time we were there, a relative unknown started for an injured Rex Burkhead and had a big day, so hopefully he can be like that guy, Ameer Abdullah.
We're going to be worried about our season until we see OUR defense do something positive. We were able to pressure but couldn't finish against Lee tonight.
