For those who think Lincoln, Nebraska is a difficult place to recruit to due to geographical location, I refer you to the University of Washington in Seattle. Yes, Seattle is a large city, but it is as isolated as any college in the country. If you can get over the mindset that Lincoln, Nebraska isn't just cornfields and is actually a pretty cool city for a college student then you will see Nebraska should be on recruiting par with UW.

    have you been to Seattle?

That report of 8 million offer from Florida to Frost if Kelly chooses UCLA is incorrect. I read where Kelly's deal with UCLA was around 6 something million. So two things here; one being why wouldn't Florida offer the 8 million to Kelly then? and two why would Florida offer more money to the student in Frost then the teacher in Kelly? I would think if Florida had 8 million to offer Frost, that 8 million would have to be offered to Kelly, and if UCLA is only offering 6 million I don't see Kelly leaving 2 million on the table.

hmm. i heard florida is willing to go as high as 10 mil to frost. they're going to raise tuition this spring semester to come up with the money.

That may be true, but it’s not the same relationship. Riley was like a father-figure to Keyshawn Sr. and that’s why we wanted Keyshawn Jr. to go to NU to play for him. There is nothing wrong with that, but don’t be surprised when many of the NU recruits and guys like Keyshawn Jr. end up at other schools.

we're still going to have a lot more receiving weapons next year. we aren't going to lose all the recruits. lee's chemistry with spielman and morgan should be enough for him to want to come back next year.

@Midwest, the whole "vetted" issue always makes me chuckle.  Scott Frost is one of the hottest prospects for a P5 school out there.  One can look at the coaching tree he has come from along with the various offensive and defensive minded coaches and he shines very bright.  He comes from a coaching family.

All that to say, it really makes me wonder about our fan base at times ... even if it's 10%.  :bigredn: will be fortunate to have a native son come back home to coach.  We are not even a Top 30 program anymore.  :bigredn: would be lucky to get Scott.  He would be doing us a favor.  There are better programs this year then us and each of the next 5 years there will always be better programs and opportunities then :bigredn: .

I believe he will be :bigredn: .  I'm 100% in this ... and :bigredn: fans should be thankful and feel fortunate.

Nebraska is also the least likely to run him out the door after 3 years because he is an alumni that won a national championship. he'll get at least 5 years here compared to 3 at the other schools.
