Not to be a grumbler, but I guess I was expecting different from Scott in his introductory presser, his moment of triumph, than throwing shade at an AD that was already fired before he got here and menacing reporters with "I'm gonna lose it on every one of you if you approach my family. It's already happened." And to repeat that warning after the most anodyne of questions (what his mom and dad expressed to him after his game this weekend).

I've been really excited about Frost, but I also had it in my head that he would be much the same paragon of professionalism and kindness to people that Riley was. I suppose we're going to learn a lot about who he is in the coming years. May times always be good.

Can we please stop talking about Riley now?  Dude is gone.  He took the program to new lows and frankly I'm sick of people defending the guy.  Let's move on.

  2. Bounds and Green should get the most credit for laying the groundwork in September.  They decided enough was enough and took action immediately to get the cancer out of the program.  They even explicitly mentioned the 90's right after the Eichorst firing.  Those guys mean business and I believe Nebraska will get back to the top with them around.  They had a plan and executed it perfectly with a no nonsense approach that a program like this truly deserves.

  3. I went with year 2.  Frost is legit and will get the team turned around quickly.  People, coaching matters.  That will be painfully obvious already in year 1.  By year 2 it is not unrealistic to think Frost will have the team winning the West.  I don't think we'll be winning the conference for a bit though, the East is pretty tough.  I guess this depends on how Wisconsin is doing 2 years from now, hard to say for sure.  They are really the only competition in the weak West division.

Because they have Steve Pederson Jr. as their AD. From what I heard all over the sports world today is they messed up letting go of Schiano and the allegations hold no weight. No right minded coach is going to want to go there now, definitely going to settle now.... it’s going to be a huge stretch.

Enough of that garbage, who we thinking of on Scott’s staff. I heard some interesting things today, especially in regards to a couple defensive spots today.

They'll end up promoting Brady Hoke to full time coach. LOL

In my eyes, Riley only keeps his dignity if he resigns.  He should be embarrassed for the product he's produced.  Regardless of injuries, talent, etc., there is no excuse to give up 50+ points at home three times and finish 4-8 at DONU.  That speech he gave about being the guy for the job did nothing but show how out of touch he is.  This team got worse as the season progressed and it wasn't due to injuries.  It's a bad product and he's responsible.

Yeah, that really rubbed me the wrong way as well.  I know he's probably just using coach speak, but it's really not something you should be saying after the season you produced.  Nebraska is a very proud program, and when people hear something like that from the man responsible for this trainwreck it feels like a slap in the face.  It makes it sound like he doesn't care about the damage done and hurt his product has caused Husker nation.  I would have respected him a lot more if he had announced his retirement and admitted he couldn't get it done.  Would have been a way to save face.  Doubling down after all this just wreaks of arrogance

  6. We need to stop recruiting soft minded California kids.  That's not how we're gunna get Nebraska back to where it needs to be.  Gotta have tough kids with grit and attitude.  No big loss here.  I also lost all respect after he went after TA.  That kid gave every game his all.  What a great leader.  He was the only reason we even won 9 games last year.  This dude can go kick rocks.

  7. If there was ever a Nebraska team that didn't deserve to go to a bowl game, it's this one.  How we could justify going to one with our blowout loss to Minnesota and the Northern Illinois debacle is beyond me.  The Huskers should be above participation trophies.

I can't see the video but does he go on to give praise to Nebraska fans or is it complete annoyance and he ends it at that?

I mean I get being annoyed you have to stay focused on a great historic season, keep your players, coaches, and even yourself focused on the rest of the season as you chase perfection.

now the other sides season is done and has been done for a month and the most exciting part of our season comes when the games are all over and everyone enters the off season, and we want a Nebraskan to come back and try and save this program.

Given how passionate our fan base is, which has be our curse, yet our greatest positive and only reason for current relevance, this is what happens when the elephant in the room isn't just answered with an official announcement.

yes I get its not how work is done, but anyone else think it's possible Frost and UCF would be more focused and have less distractions, such as NU fans at his games waving signs, if NU came out announced Riley would not be returning and Frost announce he's the next NU head coach and would be finishing out the entire season and bowl game with UCF? This of course if rumors are true Frost is close to a done deal with Nebraska.

He said that's just how Nebraska fans are and told a story about Osborne signing autographs.  He said it didn't distract him.  I think people are reading too much into it.  He really didn't dog the fans for being there.

  9. Okay, I had to make a post because this is making my blood boil.  I am seeing a ton of comments on Facebook from Husker fans who seem perfectly fine with our performance today.  Many are even calling to give Riley another year.  I am seeing a lot of congratulating for covering the spread and only losing by 12.  These people are downplaying the fact that 21 of these points came in the 4th quarter after Penn St was content with the score.  I just don't get it.  This is making me think this soft culture that is apparent on the field is also infecting many in the fan base.  Now people are okay with just not getting blown out.  To make things worse, these same people shame others like myself who are critical of the performance.  Reading these people's passionless comments just makes me want to throw up.  Did anybody else notice a lot of that today?  It's highly disturbing.

I learned i  watched the first game and saw us get picked apart by those passes to the flat and bubble screens. I thought: we’ll adjust. Nope.

Then I watched the first half against Oregon. Haven’t watched a single down since. I’m not watching this crap. Until they get someone who can coach the talent we DO have I’m done.

Im not fair weather or jumping ship. I still read all the news, box scores, recaps and on this board everyday. But I’m not tuning in to watch.

For me it's like watching a car crash.  You know you're better off not watching but you just can't look away.  The way I see it, I'm watching us at our lowest so the turnaround will seem even more drastic.  It will all be worth it eventually!

  11. This season has been a miracle in disguise.   We really should be thanking Riley for getting us out of the 9 win mediocre rut we were stuck in.  Winning 9 games a year without any championships to show for it for decades is pretty much useless.  It kept us in a sort of purgatory where we were never bad enough to reset.  Now we finally have the spark that we needed to rip the band aid off and hit reset.  Oddly enough a total reset is exactly what this program has needed since Callahan came in and changed our culture.  That soft culture never really left, even during the Bo years (evidenced by the constant blowout losses).  Now we finally have what we need to move forward.  I am confident Frost will be the guy to instill a tough culture again and get us where we want to be as a program!  Better days ahead!  GO BIG RED!!

I don't understand your point unless you think it's unholy sin to speak both names in the same sentence.

    Also Osborne literally hired Pelini.

I think he means how people try to compare Riley and Osborne.  Like how people say well it took Osborne 20 years to win a championship and Osborne was calm on the sidelines too and blah blah blah.  I cringe every single time they are mentioned in the same sentence.  It's beyond absurd, but I see it all the time.
