I have a legit recruiting question. Do we even recruit the D Line anymore? Does this position even exist currently at Nebraska? Can someone help clue me in on our D Line strategy/targets?
I just want confirmation bc I always see recruiting news updates about QB\WR\DB and occasionally LB, but never anything about DL. I’m led to believe Nebraska no longer can recruit the position or doesn’t think they need one to be successful.
I mean skill playets are great, but I’m led to think a DL would be kinda essential.
this is the worst thing about the Riley era imo...He reduced our DL to non existent status. Surely we can at least buy 4 potatoes and line them up on the field?
i mean if we don’t recruit the interior trenches, anytime we play OSU we might as take Meyers hand, lead him to behind the barn, and then assume the appropriate position.

I get that Scott was ticked about Eichorst never calling him, but I really think he needs to put some context behind that. Eichorst was so distant and the exact opposite of what the program needed. I'm not sure he should even bother with having anger towards Eichorst. Eichorst isn't worth any more wasted emotion. That period is over.

sorry, but nothing was fun about anything this past season. And I'd argue the two seasons prior, but I'm going to leave that as a personal thing. It was pure torture for me personally from game 1 2015. I just personally hate his style of offense, game management, and overall player management.

Not trying to rip on you or anything but how about we put the past behind us and focus on the future? This should be a day of celebration and reading this post was (no offense) really killing my buzz. GBR!
Let’s do it. All for it.

You picked the best game under Riley as the worst that ever happened to the program? Congrats on being wildly wrong.
No, I was right. I saw the product on the field was horrendous and a fluke win of that magnitude would send a false sense of security in a terrible on field product.
and let’s think about...a good coach would build off such a win. But that clown staff wouldn’t know a good thing if it happened by accident...which it did. That win culminated in the embarrassment of this season, bc sure we beat Michigan st, but people seemed to forget this was the same staff that lost to Illinois and Purdue in such epic fashion.

Well I have an announcement to make. Mods - please be ready to lock me up.
i was permanently banned the night of the win over Michigan st. in 2015. I was banned because I tried to warn everyone that Riley beating Michigan St. would be the worst thing that ever happened to the program. And sure enough it was.
We now have the coach I believe can turn this thing around. I came back bc I wanted to be included in the community for this monumental moment in Husker history. I’m so happy we finally have leaders who are professional, confident, and can accurately read the needs of the program. Nebraska will be back. There will be hatred along the way. Media talking heads, radio voices do not want to have to report on Nebraska being a power again. They now have no choice.
So so I confess and take any impending punishment. But so glad I got to celebrate this day on the board. Welcome home, Scott.

I literally just realize we never have to deal with being Langsdorfed again.
I’ll kinda miss the east to west pass call on the 2 inch line. Stuff of legends.

He's 66 years old. Most of his life has been spent in the states of Washington, Oregon, and Montana. He has a son who will be playing football for Cal. I just don't see him staying here through 2022. He was hired to do one thing and one thing only. It's all but done.
It'd be pretty boss for Moos to show up, hire Frost, and then be like "ok bye"

Dude...He's gone. He's not coaching here anymore. What do you want him to do, go cry in the corner?

yeah I forgot he joined in 2016. So perhaps it is on Diaco bc he faired pretty well in 2016.
So the question now is what does Chinander run? b/c I'm not sold on anything 3-4 with this group of players.

I'm not saying things were good in 2017, but disagree on how much of that falls on Parella.
Well he still has a lot to prove to me b/c I saw a lack of anything disruptive on the DL this year.

You're not getting a lot of sacks from the Dline in Diacos two gap system.
obviously a lot of yards to be given up rushing as well. I guess maybe the real argument is Banker is actually a better DC

You trolling?
Ummmm...no? 117th against the run? Only 14 sacks all year?
Hughes was 32nd against run in 2016...7th in 2015....I fail to see why this is even a debate

What changed from last year? The UCF D was much better in 2016. Did opposing OCs figure him out? Did he lose a couple talented players?
If you are asking me, I have no clue. I felt the need to address that on our quest to 400.

Chinander scares me as DC. I mean...they've had such a leaky D all year. Will it translate well in the Big 10?
I'm all for KW staying.
Donte Williams...well, I feelI'm in the minority but our DB play has been downright disgusting. Not sure I really understand the hype around this guy. And whatever he is doing has made Lamar Jackson look like a 1 star player.
Not sure Parella has done anything to even remotely impress me. have to say I was more impressed with Hank Hughes up to this point.

Everyone go to Ryan Bass' twitter and LOL. what a homer.

If Tennessee's goal is to make a bowl game every year, sure why not?
Pelini was a fascinating coach. I've never seen a coach who could get his players to both fight like hell and s#!t the bed consistently like he was able to do....every single season.

Brohm has proven he can :
a) Take a sustainable program and make it better; and
b) Take a dumpster fire and make it better
That would be an awesome hire. Tee Martin would be fun b/c that would be an all out reset for the program.

I dont know much about him - why is he awful? I thought he was decent at least?
In my opinion he's performed no better than June Jones at SMU. I think he is an offense heavy guy and hasn't proven he can mold a defense. I'm sure he could bring in offensive talent to Tenn, but you need a defense to championships. I think he's best suited as an offensive coordinator or G5 coach. I don't think he has the skill set to rebuild a P5 team on both sides of the ball.

Brohm would be an absolute steal if Tenn lands him. Tee Martin would signify full on rebuild which wouldn't be a bad thing. Doeren and Morris I think would yield the same results as Buthc Jones
-
I think Morris would be an awful hire for Tennessee...or any P5 team for that matter

Can't find anything to suggest Wannstedt throws crap rumors around.
Plus he hates Steve Pederson so he's good in my book

I think it was about Frost's wife wanting to stay in Florida. I could be wrong. I'm reading these posts like 200 times a day looking for a definite answer...
The post was hard to believe. I still would like to know where the post is sourced from just to do some due diligence

Hell of a hire by Miss St.

Reaction to Frost Hire Thread

My reaction is that Urban better be prepared to take what he is owed. What goes around comes around...and I only hope on this beautiful day Frost isn’t satisfied and pushes the pedal below the floor.
embarrasment doesn’t scratch the surface of what is owed to Urban.
