  1. Cautiously optimistic after yesterday on both sides of the ball. I think it was a complete 180 in terms of physicality which is/ was our biggest problem against all the heavy hitters in the league, and to man up against Ohio State - we are on the right track - with a lot of work ahead

  2. They should only bring that music out in the right times - MSU win, and when they played it against Whisky are key examples.

I don't think it should be an every game thing to overplay it but if its brought out at the right times, place goes cray cray

Ok, lets really piss some people off. Just do the instrumental version and no one would even what it was tbh. The drums remind me of a very simple version of drum corps so I think it would fit the college atmosphere.  Obviously a pipe dream, but the team would get hype for this guaranteed.

The final score of the game is pretty irrelevant.

He had 19 carries for 140 yds and 2 tds. Nothing special you are right. Not that that matters either. Do i need to post plays from Washington, Oklahoma st, or Kansas st because we won those games and he put up numbers?

Game changers at qb come up big when it counts & consistently for a majority of a season. The final score is never irrelevant.

he threw just over 50% no tds and 2 interceptions that game, let’s not forget about that. Not to mention, take away all those who yards he ran for in that video, how’d he do ?

tmac and ta have inflated stats bc they both held the job for 3 years+, and we’re the centerpiece of the offense they both ran.

Agreed with TA being a game changer. I also don't know how you call Taylor Martinez anything but that.  Unless the argument was that he was a while ago.

Taylor Martinez wasn't a "game changer"?

After watching Lee behind this offensive line, Tommy Armstrong wasn't a "game changer"?

    Tommie Armstrong

The kind of QB you're talking about is rare anywhere.  If it was so easy, Alabama would have a stockpile.  ;)

I mostly wanted to respond because Tommy Armstrong earned more respect than that, though.  He did a lot, relative to what he could do with the hand he was dealt at NU, as evidenced by the excerpt below from Huskers.com.  I feel like TA could have been a Heisman contender in a better program.  As it was, the first two MR seasons could have been a lot worse.  I've seen it argued that TA was the wild card that made Riley's offense viable during that stretch (because other coaches had already figured it out).

I’d take lord, crouch, frost, fraizer, MickeyJo, and Steve Taylor over any qb we’ve had in close to two decades.

Tommy was NUs game changer at that time because they built that offense tailored to only his strengths. Obviously if he had a bad game, we’d lose. He won games that without he we may not have, tough as nails, and earns respect for how he played the game. But I’d slow down on the heisman talk. If any of the qbs mentioned above got as many attempts... don’t think their numbers would be close.

Also, you can’t tell me you’d take a handful of qbs the big 10 has had over tommy and Martinez during their playing time. Tommy was better than Taylor but let’s slow down with heisman talk here.

  7. It's all about getting the QB that can pull the ball in the zone read at the right time (and having the right play call) to take advantage of what the defense gives them. When the defense is set to stop x, exploit y with a play that looks like x but is complete opposite. Not different from a lot of offenses, but when you spread out with speed on the field - big plays result.

I don't think SF ran a high number of only qb run plays. In that sense, so I do think all QBs on the roster outside of Lee can have success with their 10 or less runs a game.

Spring is going to be fun. I'll be interested how soon the starter is announced in the fall.

  8. I was listening to the Ringer's GM Street this past week, and they brought up SF at Nebraska. Mike Lombardi started talking about the walk on program back when TO was HC, and basically said their walk on's had financial funding for college through sponsorships from different entities (not being the university) in the state. Any knowledge about this or is Lombardi just blowing smoke ?

That's not how Tom Osborne and Charlie McBride handled their business.

True, but they never had a string of historically bad defensive showings to do anything different. Personally I wouldn’t let them wear those things, until I knew they were playing at a level that warrants a blackshirt.

If if I were an ex blackshirt and saw a huskers d play like we have in the last x amount of years.... man. That’s like having your kid become an Iowa fan.

  10. No group in football is effected (positively or negatively) by coaching/philosophy, more than the offensive line.

I’m excited for this change, and I really do not think this staff will get much pushback from the team on changes. Having the whole state, ex players, coaches, and national media behind this hire will naturally kick them in the behind. Instant credibility, and it’s my hope they are going to finally understand how to represent that N.

The fans are pissed, but I could see a player decommitting because they wanted to play in Frost's system.

One of the commits called Frost a liar. It seems weird for him to coach a team he is in competition with.

I would say this is pretty natural and I doubt it’s a 100% everyone pointing to frost as a villain, just some bad eggs in the basket.

I belive I’ve we are going to get a major recruiting boost with Frost. I don’t see a kid or parent see what frost runs, how he handles himself, and who he associates with (UNL) and not have interest.

    Im pumped. GBR
