Fantastic piece by Bruce Feldman. He did a fabulous job of encapsulating the energy, the optimism, and excitement coming from Husker Nation. We are so proud to have a hometown coach who gets the culture. Looking forward to a great season!

At the risk of sounding negative, will Frost and company do this? Meaning go after a player committed to another team?
He just said he doesn't want someone to commit until they are ready to shut it down and be 100% N. So why wouldn't he have the same respect for a player that commits elsewhere?

I disagree and if you know me, you know im 99% optimistic. This is the most talent our state has had in a hot minute, gotta strike.
They will work on him until the ink dries on paper. We aren't even into decommit season yet - an early commit right now just means x team leads. This is literally the first time he will be on campus with the new staff. They will get him on campus more times than just today.

Burrow is battling Haskins to be the starter. No one else is in the race. That’s a 50% chance.
IF Burrow were to transfer to Nebraska, he would be competing, as it is right now, against 3 other QB’s to be starter. That’s a 25% chance.
I dont get why this is a difficult concept for some of you.
Sir,, the competition he is up against at OSU to be the starter is tougher than here right now. That may not be the case in a couple of years as Frost builds his own roster, but as of today it is harder to be the starter at OSU. Let's keep it real.
-
They tackle in practices now. Obviously the NCAA doesn't allow it for every practice, but they do tackle in practice now. That is a nice change. Love it.

On the Ohio State boards there is a lot of chatter about him going to Nebraska if he decides to leave if not named the starter. There is a lot to take place yet, and like I mentioned in my earlier post, we do not know much from spring practice. Everything right now from Ohio State and Nebraska fans is all speculation. He graduates next month so there might be a few days to a few weeks before we know anything.
I could see Urban naming Burrow the starter just to keep him on the roster. It isn't like he doesn't know he would transfer if not named the starter.
-
This thread is cringe worthy. We don't even know who Urban will announce as the starter, let alone if Frost even wants to bring in a grad transfer. Frost is really smart and knows what he is doing. None of us know how well the QB's are picking things up and are able to execute the offense. There is a chance Frost is ready to roll with what he has on the roster and go with 2 QB's out of high school for this cycle.
If I put money on the table for what Frost will do, he will bring in 2 high school QB's.

He graduate 3 on the DL after the 2018 season and have 3 that will graduate after the 2019 season; and only have 5 younger guys.
I see the DL class being pretty big this cycle. I can see us taking up to 4, maybe 5 if we take a JUCO.

I see Piper ending up as a NT.

Expected to be on campus on Tuesday.

Don't know how accurate this is, but Wiltfong is someone to at least take serious..he listed Iowa, Iowa State and Minnesota to go with ND as teams showing an impression on him right now (Heinrich)..
-
Hickman and Henrich are both really talented. I bet we land 1 of them and the other doesn't end up in the B1G West.
As time passes and Frost rebuilds the program, it will become easier to keep in-state kids home.
With the visits Henrich took, it shows that ND is in the lead out of those four schools he visited. I do NOT want him at WI.

Wiltfong and Loy with ND picks.
Keep working on him and see if you can get him to change his mind. He took a trip to Iowa State, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Notre Dame. If he doesn't end up at Nebraska, and there is 8 months before December, at least it is Notre Dame and not in the B1G West. He is a stud and I would rather not face him if he isn't going to end up here. But like I said, just keep working on him and see if you can get him to come here.

52 degrees and rain.
Are they still going to have it?
Rain and over 50 degrees and cancel it? I would say that goes against the path of creating a culture of toughness that Frost is installing. I doubt it will be raining hard either.

His schemes were soft? We were one of the best, if not the best in the Big12/10 under Bo. You don't do that by being soft.
He didn't attack and disrupt. He was dang good at pass defensive schemes though. OL zoned blocked.
-
Forgot to say he also had ligament tears in his ankle.
-
Good luck to him. I hope he is able to stay healthy and have a good college career. He broke the thumb on his throwing hand and his fibula last season and word is that he has a long ways to go before he is back to being fully recovered. He is off crutches.
-
I would rather we start beating Northwestern, MN, IL and Purdue every season by a big margin. I think Frost can do that.

Is getting rave reviews for his work this Spring.
He is going to make us really sad for 3 years watching him play elsewhere.
I watched their spring game and he stood out. He will be good. He decommitted privately before the season started and didn't go public with it until much later.

I am not sure "Pelini" and "soft" belong in the same post. Player development: remember Demorrio Wiiliams, Prince Amakamura, Lavonte David, etc?
I think the only thing Riley ever developed was a man crush on his paycheck.
His schemes were soft. Not all players were soft. You will see the difference in a couple of years as Frost gets this rebuilt.
Huskers looking to add grad transfer at QB?

This. And the reason why you will not see Frost name a starter is that he will want the players to come to him to say they want x starting. Player driven.
