While 500 yards per game sounds great, if you factor in the penalties being called the avg. yards per game is much closer to 400

It was supposed to "protect" the players who might play a couple games then fall out of the rotation so they didn't burn a year on just a couple plays. Or let them play in a couple late-season games as an injury replacement but still keep their year of eligibility.
I think there are some good things about it. But I don't think the players that are transferring understand it thouroughly. Of course, I also won't be surprised if the NCAA tweaks the rule so that this "redshirt" year counts as their transfer, sit-out year.
If the NCAA allows the redshirt year to count as a transfer year there would be mass transfers. There would not be a punishment for transferring, other than missing 8 games

It won't matter how many touches he gets. The line can't block anybody and he will quit

I'm calling my shot right now.....Maurice Washington will quit on Monday. Dont be shocked when it happens.

I think decisions the coach has made has pushed back the recovery of this program farther out than anyone realizes and I hope I’m wrong in that thought.

Y'all are crazy if you think Bradley isnt playing so he can redshirt. He doesn't even wear pads on Saturdays. He may be #7 on the depth chart right now.

To finish off my original comment, let us consider the real use of the four game redshirt rule.
TL doesn't transfer, stays with the team but doesn't play anymore. He spends the next 10 months improving his skills and anything else that can be improved. When he steps on the field in September he is still a sophomore and a better player and this year wasn't wasted.
Don't think it's going to happen this way but this is, I think, the intent of the rule .
He would have played a lot if he stayed.

We should have 2 wins with Scott Frost...but we dont.
But I would say no

I just think it was timing. They decided to give Ozigbo the start, and rotate with Bell every other series. But Bell struggled and didn't run upfield on 4th down, and Ozigbo looked good so they stayed with it. I see the same happening vs Wisconsin, and hopefully Bell plays better.

I'm not so sure what all the anticipation was with everyone transfering after 4 games if they still miss 2 years of football
-
So him transferring makes no sense.....he could have waited till end of the season and kept playing

If he enrolls at Oregon State now...and uses this year as a redshirt. Can he play in Oct 2019?

IMO, Cade Warner probably was already offered a scholarship. He plays more than the last 3 walkons who were put on scholarships. I'm sure money from dad is not a problem

He was hospitalized after 1 workout

At the end of the first four games, I often wonder if Gifford was even in the game. He gets lots of love for not doing a whole lot

I'm not buying the illness excuse

I thought it was weird when they showed Nebraskas d coordinator getting mad at his defense, but the announcer said "yeah, I like that" as Michigan gained 30 yards

I see Ozigbo as a typical Big 10 running back, and I would take Washington every day of the week.

The bottom line is lack of talent. It's no coincidence he is starting the same 5 o line that Riley did. Same with Lamar Jackson. The whole world can see they are not very good. But they are the best players on the roster at the moment. Its gonna take time to recruit and develop.

I wish we could be mediocre again
